Hello,I have an FM file where I have a text with notes.  But these notes are very long.But I have noticed that for the note "3" (that is in the text of the page 1), this footnote "3" begins on page 2 (it begins in another page). Why ?

When I insert Images in Adobe Frame Maker Book, it is not clearly visible. Is there any specific way to optimize images  in FM?

Is there a way to use the Jump Back hyper-command in an end-product PDF? This command works fine within FM, but does not function on the resulting PDF.

I have added a coverpage into Adobe Frame Maker book, but when I am updating the book with coverpage, it is showing errors. Please hints.  I am adding a cover page through add button displayed in a book. 

I am trying to decrease the space between two tables in a structured document. I have tried a few things, including setting the paragraph designer below paragraph setting to 0 pts. in the last cell of the first table, setting the above paragraph setting in the first cell of the second table to 0 pts, setting the top and bottom table margins to 0 pts in the table designer. None of these have worked. I was able to get the space between my first table and the text before it to a reasonable size by setting the paragraph design for the previous text to Run-In Head, which pulled the anchor into the line with the text. Both tables are set to pgwide, so I don't know how I might be able to pull the anchor for the second table up further or otherwise shrink the distance between tables. 

Hello. I have a situation where the text of a heading looks fine in FM but gets all jumbled when a PDF is made from it.  This is the section heading for a table, and the table heading itself doesn't misbehave—it's only the section heading. The numbering parameter is H:<$chapnum>.<n>.<n+>\t< =0>< =0>< =0>< >< > which works fine everywhere else in the book. Any and all help will be greatly appreciated. I have spet three days trying to get this PDF ready for my boss and guess what... I'm three days late and I have worked all weekend on this. 

When I publish to HTML or HTML5, FrameMaker changes the lang tag to lang="ja-JP" in the HTML output. The Language field in all the Paragraph and Character styles is set to English or As Is.I stripped the page to the frame and only had  one word appearing on the page. Even with only one word on the page, the language was still changed to "ja-JP".Text on the master pages is set to English (master page content should not matter, but I have to try everything).2 files in the book (out of 66) export with the language correctly set to lang="en-US".  I imported all the formats from one of the correct files to the ja-JP producing files, and still, the language persists as ja-JP in the HTML. If I save as HTML instead of publishing to HTML a lang tag is not written in the HTML, so the issue must be with the Publish option? The Language field on the General tab in the Publish Settings Outputs tab is set to English. My question: Is there another language setting?

Hello,I don't remember how to write numbers in FM.By example, if I have 12.25 : between 12 and 25, I would like FM uses the point instead of the comma.How to set the "point" (instead of comma) in preference panel ?Because actually, in the page layout settings I can only use the comma (but not the point).

I have some XML run through an XSLT in FrameMaker, and a table is created. Hi, FrameMaker 17.0.2.431 For about two weeks now I have a problem when I want to create PDFs. I use Save as PDF (which is the same as Publish and then double-clicking PDF) with FrameMaker's internal PDF engine and not Acrobat Distiller. (I will test, if this happens also with Acrobat Distiller.) FrameMaker starts saving as PDF and shows its dialog box with the current step. However, at some point FrameMaker stops and does not proceed. In the last days this was at: Postprocessing PDF document Today at: Removing empty tags Then I have to close FrameMaker with the task manager. The files which I work on for the last two weeks are very short, just one page DIN A5. But this happened also with larger PDFs (50 pages). I did a MIF wash, but this did not help. Usually I can create about 5 to 10 PDFs on a day until this happens. Then I restart FrameMaker, and then I create the PDF without any issues. Hello,In Frame Maker for my FM document if I go in Format/page layout/columns, I have set a margin of 2 cm : But, if I copy/paste the text of my FM document to Word, and if I go in the Word page layout, I have 2.54 cm as settings for the margins : Why a margin of 2 cm in FM becomes a margin of 2.54 cm in Word ?

I'm running publishing process to PDF for a DITA Map by script (FDK client) in FrameMaker 2022. I'm going the book way, as I need TOC and a title page!When running pulishing by double clicking PDF icon in publishing dialog all works well and bookmarks are correct in PDF!When running publishing process via CallClient, PDF bookmark settings are not updated in book, and therefore all elements are creating a bookmark not the one that are defined in templates... I tried to catch event FA_Note_PostOpenBook to update PDF settings in Book programmatically after book is opened. But this event is not fired. Any idea how I can fix this? Is there a book template in installation where I can change defaults? Anything which helps me doing this programmatically would help me. Thanks in advanceMarkus

Hello,In Word, I have a line spacing of 1,15  : I would like to set the same line spacing in FM. How to do it ?

I am somewhat new to publishing FM in HTML5. When I publish an FM book in PDF, all of the clickable cross ref links work properly. When I publish the same book in HTML5, all cross refs work except the Table cross refs. The character formatting of the Table link text is proper in the HTML5 (underlined/blue), but the link does not function. The table links are tied to (sourced from) the Structured Element = TableGroup (Cross Ref Source pod). All other cross ref link types work in the HTML5 (created from elements for figures, sections, steps, ...; links within the same file and links from file to file within the book). The cross ref  Reference Format for the table and figure links are the same (<Xref>Figure\ <$elemparanumonly>; <Xref>Table\ <$elemparanumonly>). The HTML Setup utility maps "Element = Figure" to HTML5 Division and "Element = Table" to HTML5 Division (same mapping, but different result) I don't know if this is of importance: T

No matter what document/book I open, FrameMaker keeps crashing with the following error: I have :deleted my Appdata\..\17 folder,restarted my PC, opened a file located on a server,opened a file located on my local drive, I have a 300 page manual that needs to be updated and ready for publication by the 1st of July, 2023, so it is urgent that I find a solution to this error. I have sent the dump file to fmerror@adobe.com, but as the error states, I my not get a response soon.Any suggestions on what I can do to fix this?Thanks,Quintin 

Hello,I have copied/pasted text from Word to Frame Maker, and selected "Justify" button in Frame Maker, but I have always some space at the right (see red lines) :It is strange because I have made a "Paste special" and choosed "Plain Text" in "paste special dialog box".How to paste without the Word formatting : my goal is to have the text without this space at the right, and make a real justify.

The problem with FM inserting a blank page before a table that has a "Top of Page" format has, at this point, been present in FM for years . The desired behavior is obvious. Work arounds to make a trivial capability work are silly. What is the issue that prevents this problem from being solved?

In the Cross-Reference panel, I have to keep changing the Source Type field from Cross-Reference markers to Paragraphs. Can this be set to Paragraphs by default? Thank You,Mike

When I am taking new text frame in Frame Maker, hotspot window is popping up. How to disable this.  

I am using a side hide for chapter titles for a recipe collection. I use this as practice space for my homework. I want to be able to have all of the headings to be consistent. However, everytime that I try to do this, all of the text goes from the main body in the centre over to the left side where the side head is. Luckily, I can usually change it back. What is happening here and how can I fix it?
