When you export, you can designate a size and PPI - so for my example, lets say A4 size, 210mm width at 300PPI. The crop ratio of the paper size is 1.414.I am printing some photos at full bleed, so I need an extra 5mm bleed beyond the 1.414 crop of the image. The crop ratio will be slightly different (1.395) due to the bleed, and I will lose some of the sides of images if I just export the original image. There is NO easy way to change the existing crop ratio and pick the exact number of pixels I need for the bleed - this is very painful to do (and involves doing quite a bit of fussing in Photoshop to preserve my exact crop in the printed area of the page).I believe that this could be very easily implemented and solved as an Export option in Lightroom and would be an enormous benefit for anyone wanting to preserve their existing crop when printing full page. In the Image Sizing option of the Export dialog have an additional field that allows you to specify a bleed amount which will be

The History panel in the Develop module is very useful for tracking editing steps, but it does not show when each step was made. When editing a photo across multiple sessions, it becomes difficult to know when specific adjustments were done. Adding a visible date and time stamp to each history entry would make it much easier to follow editing progress and manage changes over time. Since this information would increase the length of each history line, it would be helpful if timestamps could be shown as an optional setting that users can turn on or off, or shown on hover. Appreciate your consideration. Charis Pavlou

I’d like to request a feature that would significantly improve Lightroom Classic as a media catalog, especially for modern hybrid photo/video creators. Request:Please allow Lightroom Classic to catalog and display unsupported video files (thumbnail + basic metadata + tagging), even if playback or editing is not supported. To be very clear:I am not asking for editing, scrubbing, reframing, or decoding support.I only want the file to be visible in the catalog so I know it exists.   Why this matters  Many of us use Lightroom Classic as our primary organizational hub — our “single pane of glass” to see all photo and video assets at a glance. However, Lightroom currently completely ignores video files it doesn’t recognize at the codec/container level. As discussed in another thread, I want to propose that Lightroom (Classic) stores data for AI denoise, AI super-resolution etc. not in the XMP sidecar file but in a second sidecar (maybe .acr).   Only the pure setting (AI denoise/superres/... used/not-used & intensity) should be stored in the XMP file next to other editing settings. We like to have the XMP for better transportability of single photos. The goal is just to keep it efficient and lightweight.   Reasons are: Other file formats can save 50%+ storage capacity (as they allow for more efficient binary storing of that data instead of text-encoded storing in XRM). Large XMP files slow down every other action that gets stored into the XMP (as the XMP file gets re-written after adding keywords, changing descriptions, changing exposure settings etc., which takes several seconds each, if the XMP is several MBs big due to AI-data). Dear Lightroom team,I am a long-time Lightroom Classic user and I am very interested in using Content Credentials in my daily publishing workflow. Currently, Content Credentials are still in Early Access and, according to the WP/LR Sync developer, they are not yet available through the external Publish Services / SDK interface.My use case: I publish images from Lightroom Classic directly to my WordPress site using the WP/LR Sync Publish Service. I would like to have Content Credentials attached to these exported images as well, so that the same trusted metadata is preserved when going through a Publish Service, not only through regular exports.The developer of WP/LR Sync has confirmed that they are not blocking this in any way and that they are waiting for Lightroom to expose Content Credentials to external Publish Services.Could you please consider:– exposing Content Credentials to the Publish Service SDK / external services, and– sharing any roadmap information on when this might be

Feature Idea: Option to Limit Face Detection to the Cropped Area   This would be a huge time-saver!  For example, I photograph sports. I often crop tightly on the main athlete, but face detection still identifies faces outside the crop (teammates, opponents, spectators, etc.) that are no longer visible in the final framed image.   Because of this, when I create smart albums based on a specific person, many photos are included where that athlete is detected in the original file but does not appear within the cropped frame. I then have to manually review and remove outside-crop face tags to keep the album accurate.  Having to manually review everything eats up all the time I just saved using tagging and smart albums.   Having a “detect faces within crop only” option would greatly improve workflow and make face recognition much more reliable for photographers who crop heavily.  I hope other photographers would find this useful too!

Objectives: Speed up LrC operation on files containing complex Masks with multiple selection types, ie prevent issues such as blurred images, failure to Show Overlay, endless beachballs, crashes. (See screen grabs). Reduce confusion and ease navigation when a single mask consists of numerous selections and selection types, or image requires a large number of Masks (eg family portraits / group shots).   Description: Allow various selections that constitute a single mask to be combined (merged) into a single selection, similar to merging Layers in Photoshop, eg: Cmd + click to pick what to combine > picks are highlighted > R-Click > Merge [either pick selection type from list or LrC to recognise what type has been picked] ie all Object selections become one Object, all Brushes / Linear / Radial selections become a single Brush / Linear / Radial etc. Include option for Combine ALL.  The app needs to prevent users combining 'add' with 'subtract' selections to retain

I work professionally with real estate and architectural photography, handling large volumes of bracketed exposures mixed with single images. My typical workflow is: Bracketed exposures are grouped into stacks in Lightroom Single images remain unstacked What is currently missing is a way to batch-send these images to Photoshop while preserving stack logic. Requested behavior: When selecting multiple images in Lightroom and choosing Edit as Layers in Photoshop: Each stack should open as a separate Photoshop document with its stack members as layers Each unstacked image should open as a separate single-layer document This would allow efficient HDR / exposure blending workflows without manual per-stack selection.

I use virtual copies and collections exensively when I'm working with projects. I often to through images in several collections and folders looking for images in a new project. And I want to create new virtual copies of found images for the new project.   I start a new project by creating a collection and set it as the target collection. I then start looking for images for the project in different folders and collections and use the shortcut B to have them appear in the project collection. After the "hunt" I mark all images in the project collection and create virtual copies of all images (Shift-V). With alla virtual copies still marked in the Metadata pane I then give them a copy-name (usually the same as the name of the projectfolder). Then I go to Edit/Invert Selection and then I remove those from the collection. I now have a collection with virtual copies unique for this project. This way I don't risk to alter images that are used in other projects.   To make this p

I like the "Auto" feature and I use it heavily.  Most of the time it gets me very close to a nice final result.  Sometimes it just goes haywire but then you can do Undo and tweak it by hand. It would be great if there was an Auto buttom when working with a mask.  Seems like that would be especially powerful when used within a preset.  

i have an idea for add feature for lock the preset lightroom, so when someone use the computer, he/she cannot steal the preset setting.   Ihope the feature can realize for the next update. Thankyou

Lightroom Classic’s Face Recognition currently attempts to detect all faces in an image, including very small, blurred, distant, or partially visible faces. In photos with many people, this leads to slower processing, unnecessary detections, and extra manual cleanup—especially in large archives. I propose adding user-controlled accuracy levels for face recognition, such as: An accuracy/clarity slider to set a minimum face quality threshold Options to detect: Only clear and prominent faces Moderately clear faces Full detection (current behavior) Automatic exclusion of low-quality faces based on the selected level Benefits: Faster processing in large archives Fewer false or low-value detections Better accuracy and user control More efficient workflows for institutional, journalistic, and humanitarian users This enhancement would make Face Recognition more scalable and practical for professional, high-volume archives.

When applying tasks to a larger collection of images this might take a considerable amount of time and CPU capacity. In the meanwhile I can instruct LR to do some other taskes. This might impose a very high stress on CPU. Therefore I would like to know if one task has finished before I start another task. For instance.: I like to start with applying all my images with auto AI settings as a starting point and to do a denoise for all images with higher iso values. Both of them are CPU consuming tasks if there are a lot of images. I would like to know if one task has finished before starting the other. I would like to be able to see a task queue and the state (percentage) of the task.

The actual behavior is that the star filter remains active even if none of the stars nor the mode indicator are white. If following the steps above, only the images that are "picks" but have no star rating at all are displayed.   This  is objectively confusing and creates situations where it is unclear what filters are active at any given time. For 15 years I've made a book with my best pictures and pictures telling stories of main events of the year and send it to family and friends. The books are made with exactly the same design and exported as a pdf. Now I want to make a Blurb book with all the pages from the last ten years. But I can't find a way to move pages between books – to accumulate pages from those ten books to a new one to be printed with Blurb. I would appreciate a way to move pages between books. It's OK if I have to reformat, but texts and images should be preserved. 

I would like to see an option in LR Classic so I can select if I want to compress the backup or not.   The reason being is I backup my catalogue nearly every day to another drive seperate to the one where the catalogue is and if you have a reasonably large catalogue as I do, waiting for the compression to take place takes quite a while for something I don't need.   I have plenty of disk space on other drives and I choose to delete the previous days backup when I am doing a new one, so I only have one or two backups, and don't require the option of compression and would like to be able to choose if I want it or not.   Thank you Adobe for considering this as a good feature.   [Mod: Moved to the Idea section]  

PSB is an increasingly important file format for complex edits, large prints, 100 megapixel cameras, or other work where the file size may exceed the 4GB limit of TIFs. While likely do not need PSB for many edits, setting it as the default format is ideal so that your work never runs into the limit (which gets messy/complicated when you need to re-save/sync a new PSB and delete the old TIF).   When you have a PSB in LrC, it will not sync to the cloud - even if it is a rather small file (ie similar to TIFs which work great). And there is no error in LrC, it will just fail to sync your file without letting you know it failed.   Expected result: PSB sync support should be at least as good as TIF. If there are technical limits for certain images (ie file size or pixel dimensions), an error message should show in the "sync activity" summary in LrC prefs so that you understand the nature of the issue. Ideally, there should be a warning on the image in the grid view.  

In LRcc filters there is the option to search in text and/or metadata.   However, although there is an overlap in text or metadata filters (both contain key words as search parameter) I do miss the option to make a combined (search tree) for text in the titles or subtitles, like is possible in the metadata.   Example: As a biologist working with titles and subtitles I would like to find missing subtitles when checking for errors.  So I would e.g. like to search for Title is not empty, whilst the subtitle is empty.   This is not possible so far. It can be enabled by adding title and/or subtitle to the metadata search too, or adding a search line to text search (if you prefer to keep metadata strictly metadata, although key words are neither real metadata)       s
