In LRcc filters there is the option to search in text and/or metadata. However, although there is an overlap in text or metadata filters (both contain key words as search parameter) I do miss the option to make a combined (search tree) for text in the titles or subtitles, like is possible in the metadata. Example: As a biologist working with titles and subtitles I would like to find missing subtitles when checking for errors. So I would e.g. like to search for Title is not empty, whilst the subtitle is empty. This is not possible so far. It can be enabled by adding title and/or subtitle to the metadata search too, or adding a search line to text search (if you prefer to keep metadata strictly metadata, although key words are neither real metadata) s
Description:When cropping images, changing aspect ratios currently requires opening the aspect ratio dropdown each time. For workflows that involve frequent switching between common ratios (for example As Shot, 5x7, 8x10, 4x5), this adds unnecessary friction. Suggestion:Provide a way to cycle through standard aspect ratios while the Crop tool is active, such as: A keyboard shortcut to step forward or backward through a user-defined list of ratios Or a “sticky” or “magnetic” behavior (possibly a modal key while resizing) where common ratios snap as the crop is adjusted This would allow photographers to evaluate multiple aspect ratios quickly without repeatedly opening the dropdown. Use case:High-volume editing and print-oriented workflows would benefit significantly from faster aspect ratio switching during cropping.
Description:When using intermediate Lights Out mode (L key once) while cropping, the crop tool controls are dimmed along with the rest of the interface. This makes it difficult to see and use the aspect ratio dropdown (for example switching from As Shot to 5x7 or 8x10), especially on darker images. The primary benefit of Lights Out during cropping is isolating the image area. Fully dimming the crop tool interface provides little benefit and reduces usability. Suggestion:Allow crop tool controls to remain fully visible (or less dimmed) while Lights Out mode is active, similar to how the image area remains emphasized. Alternatively, provide an option to exclude active tool panels from Lights Out dimming. Use case:This would improve speed and accuracy when cropping large numbers of images, especially when frequently switching between standard print aspect ratios.
The lock/unlock icons are too small and not visually distinct enough. Using an "unlock" icon with the lock shackle facing away from the lock rather than just a small gap would improve usabliity. These icons are visually indistinguishable on high resolution screens. Something like this would be more clear:
Lightroom Classic opens a filename-edit.tif in Photo AI. Photo AI however returns the file as filename-edit.tiff. That seems incorrect. Note I have enabled Photo AI to overwrite existing files. As a consequence the new file is not synched w/ LR. Have I missed something? Ah apparently, yes.. I might not be the only one.In the Photo AI preferences: Export->Save TIFFs as TIF IMHO - the program should recognize that the input file is a TIFF with a suffix "tif" and not by default swap it with "tiff". What I’m trying to solve Lightroom Classic is amazing for clean, professional results—but when I want a vintage lens / cinematic aesthetic, I often need to add optical imperfections. Right now, I end up editing certain photos in DaVinci Resolve specifically because I can add artifacts like coma and chromatic aberration creatively. I’d strongly prefer to keep this inside Lightroom Classic so I can stay in a batch-edit workflow. Requested improvement (one request):Add creative controls to intentionally introduce: Coma (especially visible toward frame edges/highlights) Chromatic Aberration (add, not just remove) Why this matters / workflow impactThis would let photographers emulate vintage lenses and build a cohesive look directly in Lightroom Classic without round-tripping to other software. It’s not about “fixing” optics—it’s about creative styling. Where this helps most Night scenes / point light sources (coma look) Vintage lens emulation for portraits and lifes
I have the images taken in 2025 on my laptop and I have all my other images off on a NAS. I've been updating and fixing such things as Country recently which involved changing the metadata value of many thousands of images at the same time. It was going rather slow and I also noticed that my NAS was being accessed so I did a few quick experiments. (For reference, this is LrC 15.0.1, macOS 26, M1 Max MBP). With the remote NAS mounted, changing the state from Texas to TX of 48517 images took 3 hours. With the NAS unmounted, changing the country from blank to Banana on 30101 images took about one minute. The later is what I would expect. I believe I've mentioned this before but perhaps not in this forum. I can't recall. But this is a serious error. The whole point of LrC for me is the database and being able to quickly find and manipulate metadata associated with the images. I don't know how to open a bug report but I def
I’m running Windows 11 (10.0.26200 Build 26200) and frequently encounter drag‑and‑drop failures in Lightroom Classic. Restarting after optimizing the catalog temporarily restores functionality, but the issue quickly returns. I previously posted about this here: https://community.adobe.com/t5/lightroom-classic-discussions/drag-and-drop-in-15-0-1-stops-working-on-windows-11-system/m-p/15622248#M420757 After extensive testing and diagnostic traces, I believe the problem is linked to background catalog writes. The WAL file grows rapidly after each restart, from just a few kilobytes to hundreds of megabytes. In my workflow, I rely heavily on Smart Collections to refine photos into distinct groupings — particularly by dimensions based on long edge — which generates thousands of writes back to the catalog. This workaround is necessary because the Library Filter bar does not expose the same metadata fields available in Smart Collection rules. All of this metadata is clearly accessi
I suggest that the bezel notifications "Add to Target Collection" and "Remove from Target Collection" be implemented for badge clicks as they are for the menu and keyboard shortcut. I recently experienced an issue whereby I found that images were being either added to or removed from target collections, apparently randomly, which caused me much frustration. I worked out that this was occurring when I selected images in the filmstrip and that in the thumbnail images, there is a "badge" which when clicked will toggle the image in or out of the collection. This can easily be done inadvertantly, but no notification is given that this has occurred, such as the bezel message displayed when the menu or keyboard shortcut is used. Thanks to advice given, I have discovered that this behaviour can be turned off in Preferences>Interface>Filmstrip by either unchecking "Show Badges" or checking "Ignore Clicks on Badges", but for consistency of behaviour and safety the bezel notification
It would be useful to be able to pick a standard 4:3, 3:6 etc ratio for the photo container when you add it in the book module. It would also be very useful if you could tell it to use the same size photo container that you used on a previous photo.
Adding the ability to lock down a container for a photo or text box once you have created it in the book module would make it much easier to work without constantly accidently grabbing the resize handles. I am making a photobook that is a field guide for visiting a wild horse area. The photos and text boxes are fairly small and while trying to click into a box to type I often accidently grab the resize bar, which is time consuming and then I have to resize.
For sound reasons (not least Windows on ARM support), Adobe has chosen to implement Sony tethering via Sony's Camera Remote Command documentation rather than the Sony Camera Remote SDK. The latest version of the Sony Camera Remote Command documentation details how to access Sony cameras over PTP-IP, not just (USB) PTP as currently supported in Lightroom Classic. The tethering commands are the same, so most of the work is already done; the only remaining step is to add support for IP transport. Please consider adding PTP-IP tethering for Sony cameras in a future version of Lightroom Classic. This would not only allow users to ditch their USB cables for studio tethering, but also to tether networked cameras that are remote from the computer running Lightroom Classic, including cameras installed with network connectivity in difficult-to-reach locations such as high above a sports stadium. A further advantage of supporting PTP-IP tethering is that the need for Windows
Currently, when syncing AI masks across multiple photos, a modal progress window appears that blocks the entire application — even if I want to work on other photos that are not being processed, I can’t. It would be very helpful if this process could run in the background: the photos being processed could remain temporarily locked, but users should still be able to browse and edit other images in their catalog. This behavior already exists for other operations like export or preview generation, and it greatly improves workflow efficiency.
The lowest common denominator for auto-stacking is 1s. For event photography and rapid-burst, this doesn't always work as intended. I'd love to see an option to reduce the time between photos to 1/100 of a second.
I have separate specialized LR catalogs just for videos, and run Premiere Pro Media Intelligence Analysis on the files folder to be able to search in video files. Since PRMI files are configurable as sidecar to the video files themselves it would be nice to have Lightroom check if PRMI sidecar file is found in the video folder and use those to let the user search in the Lightroom catalog too. I also saw that there would be no need to use Premiere for the analysis but it's possible from Media Encoder that is now in beta.
Lightroom does not allow me to export in CMYK for printing... I think this is a no brainer, would love to here about why this is a feature only available on photoshop, most photographers who want to print will be concerned by this... I no longer have photoshop in my plan, nowadays plan is more expensive and includes less... Quite dissapointed with adobe here. Example here of photo printed in RVB creates a terrible version compared to photo on screen... I'm learning but this is frustrating that I need photoshop just for this...
I would like to see spot and particle removal added for underwater photography. Similar to Dust spot removal from sensor. It would be such an incredible boost to underwater photographers to be able to use AI to remove water spots that gather on the dome during dives. They look very similar to dust spots on the sensor.I would also like to see the ability to detect more dust spots. Separate issue, but when I shoot underwater I use live view mode because an underwater monitor is another $5K. As a result I get a lot of very small dust spots after a while. Dust spot removal does not detect them all. I will attach a good example of what photos can look like underwater. You can imagine the amount of work to clean this up. I typically use the remove tool and lens blur to get the background clean, but if you could find away to fix this with AI, it would be a game changer for every professional underwater photographer out there.
Please add a cropping tool to the library module because the library works much faster.
I love lossy DNG. Would love to skip a whole step of importing and then converting.
The feature request is simple: I suggest to be able to reverse our Linear Gradients without needing to use "Invert" it could doabl via: Right Click L-gradient > "Reverse Gradient" The advantage of this is that the state of our Liner Gradient(s) won't change. Current method Suggested Tis a small thing but I propose anyway.
I’m writing about a problem I’ve encountered that seems to have a lot of people frustrated on the forums, but that Adobe apparently hasn’t done anything to address. This pertains to both LR Classic and PS 2002. I use LR Classic CC and Photoshop 2022 on a new Macbook Pro (OS 12.1, M1 max chip), connected to an external monitor with a resolution of 2560 x 1440. The problem is that the fonts in the drop-down menus (and to a lesser extent, on the panel labels) are spidery and difficult to read, and there’s no way to adjust them or make them larger and clearer. From what I’ve read on the forums, this problem is even worse for those who have upgraded to 4K monitors. The usual solution (and the only one offered by tech support) is to use the Mac’s system preferences to change the monitor display settings to a lower resolution. This isn’t a workable solution because external monitors don’t work well when they’re not at their optimal resolution. If you try to scale them to somethi

When a camera is disconnected during tethered shooting, the "Detecting camera" dialog box is intrusive and often worries my clients. Disconnecting a camera to change lenses, batteries, etc. is common in many shooting scenarios. While it is important to inform the user that tethering has been suspended, it would be nice to have the option for a less disruptive form of notification, especially since the computer is often relatively "client-facing" during many tethered workflows. The tether bar changing color or being greyed out might be sufficient. At the very least, the "Detecting" window shouldn't appear over the photo in the middle of the screen.
When making collections, 'Inside a Collection Set' checkbox and droupdown is cleared every invocation please keep it as previous 'Create' operation.
This is a change request that modifies the the image that's displayed when multiple images are selected in the grid or film strip. I often select multiple images to add a keyword or a title/caption. I usually click on the first image on the filmstrip and then select consecutive images with Shift-Right or by clicking on additional images. The image shown in the loupe view or on the second monitor is always the first selected image. I would much prefer this to be the last image that I selected. This makes it much easier to find the end of a sequence of images, instead of squinting at the film strip. I don't see any reason to keep displaying the first selected image -- it's much more useful to display each additional image as it's selected.
