Lightroom Classic

I've been having this issue for several weeks.  While being teethered to my 2017 Imac Intel with Ventura OS, my lightroom will lockup and not respond and I'll have to force quit.  This happens several times a day with no rhyme or reason.  I'm shooting with a canon 6d Mark II.  I've done the following:1: Started a new catalog2: Reverted to several different Older versions of LR, currently on 14.0.1, Camera RAW 17.  3: Reset the Pref4: Switched the GPU to auto   Any help would be greatly appreciated.   Thanks

Greetings, I've had this problem for a few months.  On my Mac Pro 2019 (Intel Mac running Mac OS Sequoia 15.3), Lightroom Classic 14.2 starts normally and works for a few seconds.  Then it goes into beach ball.  It stays on top of other applications and is completely frozen for about 30 seconds.  Eventually it unfreezes and I can continue my work.  This problem happens systematically, regardless of whether a camera is plugged in, computer freshly restarted, etc. A while ago I found a log file which showed that Lightroom was looking for something, but I don't remember where this log is on the Mac. Lightroom already has full disc access.  I've tried resetting the preferences, no luck.  The other Adobe apps run fine.  Can anyone help? Thank you, Jf

Hi all, Hoping someone can help me.  I have an Adobe plan with Lightroom & Photoshop included.  Both have worked fine for years, however I now have a new PC (much more powerful than my last) & whilst Photoshop still works, Lightroom Classic is being very slow to launch (stuck ages on "reading preferences" on the splash screen, then any slider I click on in the development module is taking 2-3 minutes to ungrey itself out. Importing images is lightning quick, as is rendering 1:1 previews.  I've increased my cache & tweaked the GPU accelerator - no difference on either change. I've had to revert back to an old copy of LR5 which doesn't support the raw files I'm currently creating, meaning a very manual workflow including a raw to dng converter. A family member who's very techy worked with me for 2 hours on the weekend looking for solutions & doing checks - we cannot find anything. Can anyone suggest anything or can Adobe advise if t

Hi,I was trying out the tethering function in Lightroom but can't get it to work. I have been using the Imaging Edge software but wanted to switch to lightroom but in Lightroom it doesn't seem to detect my camera. It is just stuck on detecting camera but not finding anything. I am using the Sony A7IV with a tether cable (tetherpro) What I tried:- Updated the firmware of my camera- Lightroom is latest version- Reset Lightroom Classic preferences- And tried all these steps, did nothing: Fix tethered shooting in Lightroom So hopefully u guys have any ideas? Hello, This is my first post on here. I've been using Lightroom Classic for a while, and am happy with most of the  results although I'm far more of a "try it and see" editor than knowing all the theory. My project is making a photobook from a lot of scanned negatives and slides, mainly colour, from the '80s and '90s. I bought a scanner and am happy with the results. I'm exporting as .tiff files, as positives. There is some editing within the scanner software, but it doesn't seem too intrusive. Many of the images are good - well exposed and in focus. Others are out of focus, or have motion blur. When experimenting with the "Shake Reduction" option in Photoshop a few years ago, I got some great results, to the extent that many images I dismissed as rubbish back in the day now looked very good. Latest Lightroom Version (V14.2)M4 IMAC, 32GB Memory, Running Latest OS (Sequoia 15.4.1) I am currently dealing with an issue where having my GPU On is causing the colors in Lightroom to shift and cause the color to be innaccurate on screen VS. what is exported. I have narrowed this issue down to Lightroom alone, as photoshop and preview both show the correct image colors, and my iPhone also shows the image colors correctly compared to photoshop and preview. When I turn the GPU Off in Preferences, the colors revert back to being accurate. Unfortunately, Lightroom is not worth using with it Off, as the resolution of the image I am editing drops to a blurry mess when I adjust anything in Develop. I have tried changing my ICC profiles through the defaults on the IMAC, and I have also calibrated the display using my SpyderX Pro. I am using LRC v14.2. When I remove a keyword from a file in LRC, it does disappear from the Keywording panel, but when I look at the metadata for that same photo using another program, that keyword is still written in the file on the disk. How do I completely remove the keyword from the file so that it doesn't show up on any programs/apps?

After editing some, not all, DNG files in LrC I'm finding the previews are being corrupted when the files are viewed in Windows 10 Explorer.  A screenshot of what's happening is attached.   I've got LrC set up so that edits are being saved into the DNGs (or as side-car files for raw images I've not yet converted to DNG). The files are not corrupted per-se, when looking using the browser in Adobe Bridge they are fine, as they are when viewed in LrC and Lr.   Is this a Windows 10 thing?  I know I need to update my system soon...   Is this Explorer preview failure happening for anyone else?

All updated versions of everything. This 'eye' when clicked on changes the image to some sort of preset. I don't know how to neautralize the preset as I only want to make a copy of the image to work on and keep the original as it is when viewed in the filmstirp. How do I make 'no change' when I want to make an image copy to work on? TIA, Ken

I think this is actually a bug but will report it here and the moderators can decide if it is a bug. Lightroom Classic 14.2 on Mac mini with Apple M2 Pro, 32GB, Sonama 14.7.1.  This is a with a fairly new catalog with not many images. If I start with a new image with lots to be cleaned up:I use the new Remove tool and spend 20 minutes cleaning up the image:I quit Lightroom and restart and my edits are gone but I have a message "Some Remove settings need to be updated":I click "Update All" and wait around 4 minutes for the updates to complete. They finish but the image is not what it was before I quite.  i.e. the updates don't work properly and I have to clean up the image some more. 1) Lightroom should NOT lose the edits just by quitting2) If it is going to lose the edits, refreshing them should put it back the way it was before it lost the edits.

After performing a search or filtering images in Library view, sometimes the file names won't show up until I mouse over that particular image. Sometimes they show up on their own, but not always.In options, top label is set to 'copy name or base file name' Using LRC 14.2 on Studio Mac running os 15.4 Anyone else experiencing this this? Have you found a fix?

I need help!!!! Some time ago, my hard drive died on me… (I know, I should’ve done a backup—don’t rub it in)… of course, I had all my RAW files on there… Luckily, I managed to recover most of the JPGs from previews using a script, but they don’t have any EXIF data. Today I realized that even though the metadata isn’t present in the JPG files themselves, I can see it in Lightroom… I really need that data to be embedded in the JPGs. I tried using a program to extract and inject the metadata into the files, but it didn’t work… But if I can see the data in Lightroom, that means it has to be stored somewhere, right? Can someone help me? I’ve asked ChatGPT, my son who knows Python, some saints, and burned through all my patience… can you give me a hand?

I do real estate editing exclsuively. Recently, the "select sky" tool in LR Classic 14.2 is not working. When I select sky and apply an edit and then synch the sky edit to additional files the sky frequently reverts to its originall state. It seems to be getting worse.Today it started reverting those edits when exposrting to PS, which never happened before. It has also started negating remove tool edits now.Anybody else have this issue?I have uninstalled/reinstalled

Hi. When I upload photos from my sony a7iii to my phone then share them on lightroom to edit. Lightroom automatically adds colour so I'm wondering is there a setting I can turn off for this please. Thank you 

Hi, I did a job last week am trying to sort out me archive and work on some pictures. I had someone editing for me and have about 10 folders of different pictures - from original raws to captioned jpegs and a folder that went to my picture library. I want to make sure I have all the pictures in my archive and don't lose any. The folder of captioned jpgs is not in the library where I thought it was and I want to copy the metadata and captions across to the raws so they can be searched and found in the future. I searched for the file name of the first image (commandF, in the library filter at the top, clicked Text-Any searchable field - contains) , but the 'No photos match the filter' line comes up. The folder on my hard drive had 142 images in it, but the folder in lightroom said it had zero. When I tried to re-import the images LR said that the images were already in the library, but as the search didn't work, I don't know where. As a result, I can't caption the images. 

When I open Lightroom CC, the only modes that appear in the top line are Library and Develop (see screenshot). So, how can I access the Print mode?

A sudden glitch in my Lightroom Classic v 14.2. When I create a new mask, of whatever type - sky, subject, gradient etc. -the basic panel for exposure, contrast, highlights, shadows etc. - is no longer available. I can only see tone, color, effects etc.   The main basic panel for global use is available below the above-mentioned masking panels.  See screenshot attachedHow can I get the masking basic panel back?

Help needed!  When trying to free up space on my computer I deleted temporary files and unused apps. After I did that, the option to click edits photos in Photoshop from the develop module in Lightroom is now greyed out. I have tried all the suggestions I could find. Uninstalled and reinstalled both multiple times, restarted computer, made sure the photos were not missing etc.  does anyone have any advice on how to fix this issue?     [Moved from ‘Bugs’ to ‘Discussions’ by moderator, according to forum rules. On my laptop I have added Smart Previews to all the photos from previous years and removed the originals. They are on a larger external hard drive. This is to save space. This has worked perfectly for years. Now the actual picture does not show up. I can still see the score I gave it, and the collection it is in, and  I see all the metadata and if corrections were applied. When I click on it, it says "The folder could not be found." I read JohanElzenga's post and I removed the Catalog Previews folder, but the pictures did not rebuild. If I click on an individual photo in Smart Previews I can see the picture. It just seems Lightroom does not know where the Smart Preview folder is.

I store my photos on an external drive (D).  When I import, I select the the 2025 folder in the D drive as the destination, but the photos are still imported to the C drive.  What am I doing wrong?

 Platform: Lightroom Classic 14.0.1 on Windows 11 Pro on a high-powered desktop PC I upgraded to Lightroom Classic 14.0.1 and am now unable to synchronize any folder.  If I right click on a folder and click on synchronize, Lightroom hangs and nothing happens.  No error message; the folder just never synchronizes no matter if you give it hours and there are only a few images to import.  I have tried resetting my preferences, closing Lightroom, rebooting my PC and restarting Lightroom and same thing.  I tried going back to 14.0.0 and had the same issue.  The photos have not loaded into any other folder so that Lightroom thinks they are already there.  I have never had this issue in the past. I saw that this is a known issue and that this was how you were supposed to fix it, but I can’t make it work as I don’t understand the directions:“In the My Photos area in the left pane, select the All Photos album.Switch to the Sq

When I open lightroom I can only see folders from 2025. The older folders and photos are still there (ie visible on Explorer) and also there on the  backups, but I can't find a way to get Lightroom to display the folders on the pc's hard drive (D:).  Lightroom displays the folders of the  backup hard drive.  I have tried to produce a new catalogue but I am now afraid I may have done more harm than good as one of the backups is now only showing part of its content.  I tried to find all missing files and it produced a list of 80,000 or so but these were just in a single slab without folders so that's not super useful.  I don't know what to try next - any guidance please.  Windows 11 with latest updates on LR.

Salut tout le monde,   Depuis quelques temps, je pense que ça vient depuis le Lightroom 2025, je rencontre des problèmes sur Lightroom...   J'ai essayé de voir avec le SAV, mais les modifications qu'on a fait n'ont pas l'air de fonctionner sur le long terme :   - Augmentation du Cache à 50Go - Cache sur mon disque D avec plus de place au lieu de C.   En gros plus ma retouche avance, plus mon Lightroom se ralenti... Mais le plus gros des problèmes, c'est que l'export est hyper lent... 1h30/2h pour un export de 450 images, export qui devait prendre 30min grand maximum autrefois... L'autre jour il a fallu pas loin de 12h pour exporter 1900 photos.Autre problème, plus ma retouche avance, plus mon disque dur ou le cache se trouve, se vide... Je peux vider un disque dur à 100% sur des grosses séries à retoucher. Je suis obligé de quitter Lightroom, attendre 2min et le relancer pour retrouver la place sur le disque.   Mes pilotes sont à jour, j'ai la configuration rec

If I am in the mask module and have used Ctrl-Shift (Windows) plus dragging the mouse right or left to zoom in and out, and I've zoomed in and want to revert to full screen (equivalent to Ctrl + 0 in PS) - how can I do that?  If someone knows a link where all the zoom adn screen commands in various modules (mainly Develop and Mask) are listed that'd be helpful.  Thank you.
