Lightroom Classic

I have just fished updating LrC in connection wtih buying a new Mac mini. After the update I imported a folder with photos but they appear in a new "photo" folder. I have attached a screenshot with the new folder and subfolder above the "old" just containing a test folderI have all my photos on a shared network drive on a Synology NAS - the shared drive is the "parent folder" for all my subfolders. When I reveal in finder both the "new" and the "old" shared drive points to the same shared drive in finder. The same applies regarding single photos.Why does LrC see 2 versions of the same shared drive and why does it suddenly decide to link new imports to the "new" shared drive? .... and does anyone have a solution to solve the problem?Thanks in advanceCarsten - Denmark

Hi guys,1. My Adobe Lightroom just updated to 14.3. But 2 unexpected things happened - not sure why or at what point: when I open my Library in the usual way from the dock a) I find that the last image available to me is from 3.26.25 instead of from less than a few days ago and, b) a large number of thumbnails are greyed out and hard to re-link.2. But If I click on my LR external drive in Finder then on Lightroom Cat & Image Files, I find folders listed vertically that mirror those in my Library.3. And if I click on any of these folders and drill down to where I can click on an image file, I find that every last one of my latest images is included and that it is fully clickable.4. That tells me that all my images are safe, complete with adjustments.5. So how do I get it all to work as intended when I click open Lightroom from the dock?Thanks a lot.

When assigning a color label to a photo, it is not showing in Develop Filmstrip nor Grid in Library. I have the option checked to tint cell with color label.(it has worked flawlessly in the past, all of a sudden it has stopped)Running Sequoia 15.3.2

Having issues with exposure 7 after latest update. At first I couldn't export. I got it working again, but it only allowed me to import back to Lightroom Classic twice then would not give me the finish button any more to allow the import. Any ideas what happened?

I went on a safari shoot and have keyworded each picture by animal.  I have no issue building a Smart collection for "Zebra" or one for "Wildebeest", but can't figure out how to build a single collection containing "Zebra" or "Wildebeest" (i.e. all pictures of either animal).  Every attempt is limited to those pictures that have both keywords.What am I missing?Thanks 

Converting .DNG to .DNG files creates new files with lowercase ".dng" extension instead of ".DNG" extension, even if file extension in modal is set to "DNG".     Reproduced by trying to convert photos that were already in DNG format, e.g. from Leica Q2 or Leica M11. This previously worked fine in past versions of Lightroom Classic. This is also a problem because the new files get different createdAt and modifiedAt timestamps in apple finder, which is undesirable.   Operating System: Mac OS 15.3.1 Lightroom Classic version:

I have created a droplet in PS based on a bunch of actions I like to run on my images. I've added it to LRC, I can see it in User Presets, but when I go to use it, I am getting an error. This used to run well on my older laptop. Help please! 

Hi guys, I have Lightroom Classic. I noticed in my Applications folder the following files/folders:Adobe Bridge 2022 thru 2025-4 folders,Adobe Bridge 2022 thru 2025-4 folders,Adobe Connect, Adobe Creative Cloud, Adobe InDesign 2022 thru 2025-4 folders, Adobe Lightroom, Adobe Lightroom CC,Adobe Lightroom Classic, Adobe Photoshop 2025, Adobe Premiere Rush 2.0, Adobe Reader 9.  So ... which to keep - or not? And what's the ebest way to delete some of these folders? Thanks a lot.

Hi,  I am new on here so please forgive me if I am posting in the wrong place. I not sure if this has been discussed but I am wanting to cull using voice commands. I have been able to set a voice command to skip from one image to the next by saying next however I want to star rate & say "no" & for it to rate it as a one for instance. I have tried this but when I say no I get a noise but nothing happens. If anyone can help me out on this it would be much appreciated. I have found one youtube video on this topic but for the star ratting it isnt working & I have tried to follow his steps. Kinfd regards Phil.

I have 8TB photo and video library on a local QNAP Server. And a 3.5Gb LRC Catalog on Macos 18gb m3 laptop. Adding new pictures to the catalog is a pain in the a**. Everytime I add 200/500 photos the "Import files at their current location" message stills forever (at least 45 minutes).  I tried SMB, AFP and smoke signals :). How this escenario has to be done? only usb-c local hard drives scenario is valid to avoid these slow working of LRC? which options did you find to get better performance. Best Regards,Ariel

I'm trying to help my wife and frustrated how slow LR Classic is during import and collection creation. My wife had 4 photo sessions yesterday with more than 2,500 photos in total. The import and collection creation process took a very long time.   Here's are system details from LR Classic. Plus, our internet is 500 Mbps up/down. Plus, I was watching Windows Taskmanager with any individual resource (drives, memory, network) not exceeding 10% utilization and the processor peaking at 50%. I cannot figure out what is taking so insanely long. For the past few weeks, I have been facing an issue where Lightroom classic 14.2 is not creating 1:1 previews in the same folder as my catalog. The previews seem to be saved somewhere on my local drive, which is inconvenient when generating previews for a few thousand images, as it takes up a lot of space. Additionally, after closing and reopening Lightroom, all previews are lost, and I need to recreate them when I want to use them. I also tried to fix this by creating a new catalog, but I faced the same issue.

Since Lightroom classic has updated so I no longer need to change to Rosetta to tether, I'm having so many issues. It will not detect my camera without having to switch off the MacBook and make 20 attempts to get it to connect. And then when it does connect it will suddenly disconnect and I'm unable to get it to reconnect. My colleague is having the same issues. We've tried new tether cables and nothing works. canon 5d mkiv, MacBook Pro m1 Anyone else having these issues and found a workaround? 

When i make a mask of any type, the subject is highlighted in red, per my settings. However, the part of the image selected turns black and white and stays that way regardless of the overlay mode.  Any suggestions? Thanks.

Hi guys, Ejecting drives is a problem because there's almost always a notification that they weren't properly ejected - although they were, even when I pull the cable out after I shut down my Macbook computer.   Any ideas? Thanks a lot.

Running Lightroom classic version 13.1 on m1 macbook pro on Mac OS Sonoma 14.3 and every time File > Tethered Capture > Start tethered capture and Press Ok, the application crashes. This happens both with and without a camera connected. My lightroom version is up to date and this crash happens everytime without fail. I've tried clearing the preferences and uninstalling/reinstalling the app as well. Has anyone experienced this? What's the resolution?

Just tried to use the map module and get a report it hasnt loaded correctly and to refer to the Java Script Console, which is no help to me.  Any suggestions?  Tried re-booting but no joy.  Using Windows 11 latest and latest Lightroom Classic..

Anyone encounter this error? Or any fix for it? I am currently using the latest version of LRC

I have mixed media content that I create with a Nikon Z5 and I use Lightroom Classic to import everything on the card to an external hard drive. The last import did not copy any of the .mov files on the SD card. Unfortunately, I did not notice that until after I had formatted the SD card, so I lost a lot of valuable content that I was not able to recover. I have been working as a professional photographer since before Lr or LrC existed, and this is the first time this has happened. I did get a message that some content did not copy, but I have received that same message before and the content was copied. I took a quick look at the files and it seemed like everything was there so I formatted the SD card. I'm putting this in the Bug report because I hope it's just a glitch, but maybe it belongs in discussion if this is what LrC is designed to do. Is this is a bug, or is LrC just giving up on video file formats alltogether?  I need to stress how important this is for a
