Lightroom Classic lastest version (8.2)Windows 11 My editing style uses a lot of masking to get images where I want them to be. The firsts masks 1st to 3rd are good, not smooth but workable. After that 4th mask and beyond that the creation of the mask and the edit of it are super slow and with bad performance. Outside of Lightroom with other apps/games to test computer performance they have awesome outcome, I not sure what to do here, because Lightroom Classic isn't that heavy of an app

Since using Lightroom classic on a mac I have had problems with large photoshop (3gb plus) files corrupting when I add final metadata in lightroom. What may be happening is that because the files are big it takes time for the metadata to be save and if I change the filename the file becomes corrupted. Or it may be that I am opening the files for final checks in photoshop before the metadata is properly saved to the files. As lightroom seems to chang the metadata in the background I have no idea when the metadata has been saved. Either way I am getting far too many corrupted files after a final metadata change before despatching the files. When trying to open the corrupted files the error says that one or more layers are corrupted and photoshops asks if I want to flatten the image after which it says the file is an unrecognised format. These are .psb files. Any ideas or is this a bug that needs looking at as I am loosing too many hours re-doing difficult images? Thanks Paul Williams
D'où cela peut venir, merci infiniment pour vos lumières 🙂 [Moved from ‘Bugs’ to ‘Discussions’ by moderator, according to forum rules.]
Hi *, has anyone managed to create a tree-like-widget in a LRC SDK view? I mean a widget to view/edit hierarchical data with the possibility to expand/collapse nodes in the list. Obviously there is no ready to use solution in the API, but I already saw some closed source plugins, which use similar widgets, and I was wondering if someone would share his approach. 🙂 Many thanks in advance.Bastian
Windows 10 64 with all updates, LrC 11.2 Long story short: Lr's FFC works not as described. Description tells that only first or last file in sequence is treated as the reference flat field frame, but actually every file is checked for uniformity, and if Lr decides that it is uniform enough to be treated as the reference - it is treated, and the next file treated as photo is corrected using this "new reference" file that actually is a real photo, just not-so-contrasty. It leads to two issues: - not all files are corrected - if there is a file in the middle of the sequence that is not corrected, then files after (in the direction from real reference file) that file are corrupted. Steps to reproduce: - do as described in the guide: place a real reference file first or last in the sequence - have one or more files with low contrast in the sequense - perform FFC ER: all files are processed using first or last file as reference. AR: every file is checked for havi
I'm on a Mac with 16 GB storage running Sequoia 15.2 on LrC 14.1.1 from a 1 TB hard drive. Every time I try to open Lightroom Classic, I immediately get the rainbow wheel of death and "Application not responding". The only way I can open my catalog is if I hold Option + Shift, reset preferences, and check the "Test the integrity of this catalog" box. I attached the crash report from Adobe. Things I've tried:Creating a new user profile on my MacUninstalling and clean re-installResetting preferencesDisabling GPU Any suggestions appreciated!
Hi,I hope someone can help me to fix this annoying "feature" which started to occur on my MacBookPro Retina (Sierra) this after the most recent update of Camera RAW, Photoshop CC and LR CC. It also seems the "Prepare the image for editing" procedure takes a very loooong time to perform - maybe because of the tiff-creation? On my iMac still running the previous versions of the Adobe software this extra TIFF is NOT created and saved. The preferences and settings are identical on both computers.Anyone else?
Gracias
When trying to view the photo through the camera it says cannot playback image and when i try viewing it trhough my laptop it says "it looks like we dont support this file format". Ive tried different photo recovery softwares and I either get an error or it just wont work. Anything is helpful
I use lightroom classic a lot and have come to appreciate the denoise function. It worked succesfully on my last job of batch work and synchronising of over two hundred raw photos (January 2025). I tried to use it to process a batch of 10 and then on an individual image this week no luck. It starts the progress bar comes up and then nothing no DNG file. I have over 200 GB of ssd disk space. I have tried with a 4050 GPU both on and off no luck. Lightroom works but classic does not. I cannot find the temp file so I conclude it has not been generated. Help appreciated

Been using Lightroom classic for several years on the same system – PC, Windows 11, with external harddrive. Opened it today and an error window popped up. Clicked on Next and LRC opened, but my photos could not be found. My workspace folder list looks like a version I had 3 years ago. Since then, I've added many folders, remaned a bunch and deleted others - All through Lightroom. I do a catalog backup every time I exit the program. I checked the hard drive and all my files are there, in the folders as I build them through LRC.Did the V14,2 update and still the same.Is there a way to reclaim the workspace catalog I had two days ago? Here's a screenshot of my overall workspace.
Setting up Lr on a new computer (v8.4.1) running Win10 Pro. Haven't had to set up Lr on a new computer for many years. When I import photos, the Library only shows the folder the images are in. I can right-click and select Show Parent Folder. That's tedious. I know Lr can be set up to show parent folders by default. I just can't remember how to do it. Have done a search on here and the web and not finding anything. On my prior machine, running Win7 Pro, I had it set up that way. Thanks.
I can currently apply existing profiles, such as Adobe Color, with AutoTone on importing images. For many of my volume images, such as in basketball arenas, this has given a good initial image that needs few adjustments to complete and quickly be able to deliver my images. initial testing of the new Adaptive Color profile shows that it is providing superior results. Unfortunately, the current implementation in 14.2 does not execute the profile. This requires a separate, time consuming step to do an AI update. please allow the Adaptive Profiles to be applied and execute during the import stem.
I just installed Lightroom on a new Macbook Pro and connected to my external drives where i store photos. It is not showing any photos when I try and import them into a new catalog. When importing from a memory card I get a message saying can't show preview when using Olympus RAW ORF files. They used to work just fine before. Attaching screenshots. Any suggestions?
Background: My workflow: Get a starting point for the edit Fine tune the settings to make a technically good and neutral version of the image Make a virtual copy Add a creative look So far I have used the auto setting to get a starting point. Though, the newly introduced adaptive color profile offers a more subtle way to get started. But when I want to add a creative look using one of the color profiles, the adaptive profile is replaced. Currently there is no way to combined the adaptive profile with a creative color profile. Idea: Introduce the possibility to make a "virtual copy" that works just as if you had exported a 16 bit TIF and reimported the file into the catalogue. Then you can add a creative look on top of your basic edit with the adaptive profile. Why not keep exporting TIFs? Well, it is timeconsuming and file size heavy as you have to make a copy/export of the file which eats HDD space.
Windows 10. Lighroom Classic 14.2 If I edit color tonal values for an image before converting to B&W, I'm finding that the converter is ignoring those edits. Suppose I have an image with a blue sky and a blue lake and that I want to darken the blue in the sky, but not the blue in the lake prior to B&W conversion. I select the sky, select the blue color in the sky, and then turn the luminosity down to something significantly darker. Then I convert to B&W. The tonal changes to the blues in the sky do not appear in the converted image - the sky has the same gray tonal value as it would have if I had not made the mask at all. This seems like a bug to me. The B&W conversion should be using the image color tonal values in their final edited state when it does the conversion. As it is, it appears to be ignoring some edits. Obviouly I could use the color picker to turn the blue luminosity down globally, but this will also darken the lake.
OS Windows 11 home 64 bit on ASUS 0413_DU25285_G713P_V3_ALRC 14.2 lightroom classic makes no updates of my catalogue, no matter what setting I choose in "bewerken/catalogusinstellingen/back-ups" (Dutch version)
Every time I edit an image using Denoise or Photoshop, LR changes Date Time Original to reflect the edit date, casuing the images to be out of order when sorting using Sort by Capture Date. I tried Metadata>Edit Capture time but it doesn't make any difference. I've enclosed a couple of screen shots and appreciate any help.
Not sure if this is a bug so initially looking for some help in case theres is something I'm missing. I have photos from last year shot RAW on my phone (Pixel 8 Pro) and I had edited them to my liking - in LrC 14.2 - but now, when copying all adjustments to other images I am noticing a totally different result. I made a virtual copy and reset it, tried to reapply from the edited version and it's completely different. I am using a profile (JW Kodachrome PROFILE) set to 42 but I'm not having this issue with other images shot and using profiles. Now, I've tried manually editing the image to bring it back in line with my edit but I can never seem to get it quite right, close but not right.Examples:1st BAD COPY2nd MY EDIT3rd ORIGINAL RAW Any help would be appreciated!GARETH.
