Hi! I had an old version of LR ver6 installed on an old laptop. The laptop has given up the ghost. I reinstalled on my new Windows 11 desktop. Installed OK, but on launch it is going through the registration process. I registered it when I purchased it, and it's in my products in my account.Any ideas how to get out of this loop? Thanks

I have several pictures (CR2 files) that appear to be damaged. If I look at them with either Lightroom (14.1) or Photoshop. When I open them in for example Irfanview, the picture is as it should be.Picture below shows a screencapture of left Irfanview and right lightroom.  Tried:- removing picture from lightroom and re-import -> no change- discard smartpreview and then build smartpreview.-renaming file and importing "new" file Any help on what to do or where to find an answer is appreciated. 

All of a sudden Lighroom Classic will only open in the background.  I have tried uninstalling and reinstalling, but it still doesn't work properly.

With the new 14.1.1 update, Slideshow is not working, at all. I'm on a macbook pro (14" M2 max 2023) and Ventura 13.4.1.Nothing happens at all when I click Play.

I am importing a 6,000 image Lightroom catalog off of my traveling laptop into my master 100,000 image desktop catalog and the importing process quickly progresses to the ~60% mark of "Checking for changed duplicate photos", when it then slows to a crawl -- 14 hours later, the import progress thermometer has barely moved. Both catalogs have recently been optimized. The importing desktop system is very high performance (Windows 10, i7-6700K @4.5GHz, 32GB RAM, SSDs). I am running Lr V2015.8 on both systems. The Lr process is taking ~15% of the system's CPU and 8GB of its RAM. It shouldn't take more than a half day (& counting) before one can even start working on a remote project's images! At a minimum, there should be a way for me to turn off the checking for duplicates, since I know that none exist!! In any case, any ideas on why importing is so slow and suggestions for speeding up this ridiculously slow process?

I receive the message "Could not Update AI settings for X photos" when trying to sync a preset that contains an AI mask to several photos at once.I am usually able to apply the preset containing the AI mask to photos individually but I quite often find that Lightroom freezes after applying to 5 or 6 photos and I need to close and re-open the application.Any help would be appreciated! 

Hi,My previews are initially soft (low resolution, slightly compressed) when I preview them in loupe at "fit". Until I zoom in to 100% (goes pretty quickly, ~1s), and return to "fit". From then on the preview is high resolution as it should be.Just waiting does not generate the high resolution preview. All previews are rendered before checking at 1:1.I tried different preview catalog settings, different resolutions, different qualities. This does not seem to have any influence on the previews. The previews were always discarded before changing settings and rendering them again.In attachment: a preview before zooming, and one after zooming.I hope someone knows what's going on, as I'm wasting my time zooming in and out again on nearly every image. My system: Windows 11 23H2, i7 14700KF, 64GB, RTX 4060 Ti 16GB, catalog and pictures are on m.2 SSD. Windows and all drivers are up to date.

I'm blown away. I was searching for a photo by name in "iPhoto" or "photos" or whatever apple is calling it on my iPhone these days. The word I was looking for was "press". Not only did it find an image of a press pass but it found the word "press" WITHIN the image. I mean it was highlighting the WORD inside the image. So I searched for the word "quartet " and it found an image of a poster. The word "quartet" was not in the NAME of the image. The app found the word "quartet" actually in the .jpg snapshot of the poster. It read the image.  question. Can Lightroom do this? If not, why not?

Ik zie in de beschikbare apps van creative cloud  meerdere versies van photoshop. maar vanuit Lightroom classis kan ik alleen bewerken in de 2023 versie. terwijl de nieuwste versie de AI mogelijkheden heeft. Ik heb de Creative Cloud pakket en Sequoia geinstalleerd. wie kan mij hierin assisteren?    

I work on Lightroom 6.6 on Mac OS 10.11.6 but Having a new computer with a more recent Mac OS I am obliged to subscribe to Lightroom Classic (everything was so simple before),I just wanted to know if with LR Classic, if I open a catalog created on Lightroom 6.6, I find all my Collections classifications and if it automatically connects to my source folders and files that I will have transferred to the new computer or if I will have to "reconnect" all the folders of my library with my sets of collections and collections. ??Please tell me your experience if you have already had it or the precautions to take.I looked everywhere, no information on this subject on the site (I specify that I will not use the Cloud under any circumstances and that I have all my source photo files on my computer hard drive)ThanksPat from Paris

LRC 14.1.1 on a MAcbook Pro with M3 Pro chipsince yesterday, when i make a mask and try to make exposure adjustments, the adjustments are applied to the area of the picture NOT in the mask. If i select 'invert' it doesnt fix the problem. I think i hit a mistaken combination of shortcut keys and now this 'inversion' happens on every picture i try to develop using masks. can anyone hepl me reverse this?

I have the ENHANCE EYES/ WN02/ VIVID/ HEAVY GRAIN presets all applied to the photo1) How do I see which presets are applied to my photo?2) Is there a way to switch off and on which presets are applied? 3) Can I adjust the strength of these presets? ie. is there to apply WN02 at 100% or at 10%? Currently the only place I can see the presets is in the "history" panel. But sometimes I don't want to go back in history, I want the ability to see and adjust the presets. 

Hi I recently installed the latest update to Lightroom Classic (LrC) and have experirncrd the following problem, which I have never had. My Catalog contains 8,846 Synced Photographs as uploaded on Lightroom, but since my recent  LrC update the first 4,510 photographs appear as blanks and when you point to any of the blanks the following statements appear: 1) 'Photo is missing' 2) 'Cannot edit an offline photo unless it has a Smart Preview'. The file names for all the blank photos are registered but not the image.  All 8,846 Synced photos in Lightroom are visible, and they all used to be visible in Lightroom Classic until the latest update. I don't understand why that is the case. If anyone can help it would be greatly appreciated.   [Moved from ‘Bugs’ to ‘Discussions’ by moderator, according to forum rules.]

This all started when I (finally) decided to backup my lightroom catalog, which I hadn't done in a very very long time (I know, very stupid). In the middle of updating, lightroom closes and a pop-up appears to say there was an issue with my catalog and that it needs to be repaired. Lightroom repairs the catalog, but once I open the new catalog, my develop history is 100% gone.  After this happened, a new folder titled "corrupt catalogs" appeared, which allowed me to access my catalog WITH the history -- the only issue is with that catalog now, the AI remove tool settings, as well as the AI mask settings are gone, and must be manually reset. Given that I'd rather have my develop history, I figured I could live with having to redo some photos where the AI settings are concerned. However, whenever I go to back up this catalog, the same issue occurs: lightroom crashes, says it must be repaired, and then it repairs to new catalog without the develop settings. I feel it wouldn't be

Hey all, recently my lightroom classic (windows) keeps freezing up when I try and bulk export images.  I havent changed anything so really not sure why it keeps doing it. It's becoming super fustrating as it's slowing me down getting client galleries out 😵🥴

Hello, I'm using LR Classic (14.1.1) and am a long time user.I've got all my business images in my catalog but also my personal images (the folder structure is quite separated so I can see which is which easily). I've taken time to go through and detect people on all of my personal images. I've also gone through and named the people that I want to be named.If I go to my "Personal" folder and click O to go to "People" view I can see groups of people.I could click on a face - e.g. Jim. At the top of the view I can also see Jim's full name and I can click that. Let's say it brings up 15 images of Jim. All I see is the head, the face region, on each photo of Jim.I could click each photo of Jim and go E to go to Loupe view. What I'd really like to do is see all of the images of Jim in a collection so I can see them all in Grid view.But more than that I'd then like to whittle down the 15 to say 5 of my favourites.I can see that I could create a smart collection with Jim in the search pa

MAC OS 5.2（24C101）で最新にアップデート済みですがここ数日Lightroom  Classic  14.11が起動してすぐに落ちます。アンインストールやパソコンの再起動できることは全てやりましたがここ数日完全に使用できません。仕事にならないので早くエラーを解消したいです。

I switched recently from my main editing machine being a PC to a Macbook Pro.  I transferred all of my photos and my lightroom catalog to an external hard drive and then to the Mac.  The catalog opens just fine except for one thing.  On the PC I had a network drive added which stores video files (which are included in my catalog). When I went to tell Lightroom on the Mac where the network share is I get an error every time which states "An internal error has occured.  Invalid file path.".   Can someone please help me get past this problem?  

I updated to LrC 14.1 yesterday.  Since then everytime I quit and have it do a backup I get this error window:  Since updating to 14.1 it has happened 4 times.  I have never gotten this message before.  I am on an M2 Pro Mac 32gb, Ventura 13.7.1.  I have clicked on Report and sent a report to Apple multiple times. One time I quit without doing the backup and I did not get the error. Anyone else having this new problem?  Any ideas?

Why is there this annoying question in Classic now whether I want to sync a catalog being opened instead of the one already synced? At least give users the option to not show it again.And ironic to ask about syncing another catalog when sync is so incredibly fickle and unreliable with the one already being synced.

Hallo,bin gerade von MacOs zu Windows 11 gewechselt und habe ein HP ZBook.Meine RAWs liegen in der pCloud, die als virtuelles Laufwerk (P:) eingebunden ist, wie sie es auch bei MacOS war.Bei MacOs konnte ich ohne weiteres die RAW-Datein mit "Hinzufügen" in Lightroom importieren.Mit Windows 11 bzw. dem ZBook funktioniert es nicht.Ich kann das pCloud Laufwerk nach Klick auf Import zwar auswählen und sehe auch die Vorschaubilder. Allerdings sind Verschieben und Hinzufügen nicht auswählbar.Versuche ich es mit Bildern, die auf der lokalen Festpaltte oder auf einer externen SSD-Festplatte liegen, klappt es mit "Hinzufügen" ohne Probleme.Hat jemand eine Idee, woran es liegen kann?Die pCloud ist anderweitig ganz normal zu nutzen. Ich kann mit dem Explorer Daten speichern, verschieben und löschen.Viele Grüße,Frank

I’m encountering a strange issue with Lightroom Classic (latest version): it doesn’t recognize my Canon EOS 5D Mark IV for tethered shooting when connected to my Mac on my main user account (which is an admin account).Here are the details:Tethered shooting works perfectly on other user accounts created on the same Mac for testing purposes.Canon EOS Utility and other software recognize the camera without any issues on my main account.I was running macOS Sonoma and recently upgraded to macOS Sequoia, hoping it would fix the issue, but it didn’t.The camera firmware is updated to the latest version.Lightroom Classic has full disk access permissionsI have tried uninstalling Lightroom Classic and removing all preferences.  This issue seems isolated to my specific macOS user account.Has anyone else experienced similar problems with tethered shooting? Any suggestions on what might be causing this or how to fix it?Thanks in advance!

Does Lightroom allow for a default preset for the local adjustment brush?  After experimenting and Googling I haven't found a way. The context:  I use a local adjustment preset daily on dozens of photos.  The current workflow requires that  select that preset for each photo, which results in dozens of extraneous clicks and an interupted flow.  Those extra clicks would be avoided by being able to specify a default preset.
