I am having really serious issues with the program crashing and not saving any of my edits to the image it crashes on since the last update and I cannot figure out how to fix it or to get in touch with anyone to figure this out. I really need to get this fixed so that I can get back to work and deliver my edits on time.
Lightroom Version Number Lightroom Classic version: 13.2Operating System Windows 11 Images captured in RAW on a camera that has "Auto Image Rotation" turned off. Images are shot with the camera facing straight down for copy work. All images come in with EXIF Orientation = Horizontal (normal). If I rotate the images in the catalog and then convert to DNG with the Library Menu --> Convert photos to DNG, the image in the catalog will revert to the original Orientation = Horizontal (normal) during the conversion process. This problem started second half of 2023. I have attached 4 screenshots in progression showing the Image and EXIF data for 1) a landscape image right out of the camera (RAW), 2) image rotated 90 degrees, 3) convert to DNG, 4)converted DNG image has rotated back to Landscape. The only recovery is to rotate all the images again after they have been converted to DNG. I will stop converting my images to DNG until I can figure out what is happening here.&
I am sending all values from the Develop Controller to another application via my plugin, and I just realized that when I call `LrDevelopController.getValue("local_Amount")` I receive this error: `?:0: attempt to perform arithmetic on field '?' (a nil value)` crashing my plugin in a rather severe way that need Lightroom to restart, or it will eventually lock up completely. Is this a known bug or is there any kind of workaround available?
I have 1000 photos of a scene taken over four years. I would like to find all the pictures taken at the same time of day, for e.g. 8am. I feel sure this must be possible in Lightroom, but I only seem able to filter by date, month or day, and not time. Can anyone help? Is it possible to do this? Many thanks.
Using LR Classic 14.1.1 on MacBook Pro 15.1.1 with 64 GB sometime in the last couple of updates I noticed two things.Frirst the Right arrow (orCtrl R arrow ) does not work to advance in the Develop module. The film strip advances but the full screen display does not.Second, the full image had not been updated with the prior edits.Once I went back to Library and advanced the images, THEN opened the Develop module often the edit history would not be applied or there was a noticeable lag - the original raw image displaying and then the edits would be applied. A good percentage of the time, I would have to go back and click on the history to update the image in the Develop module.Once the edits were applied from the history, the right and left arrows worked in the develop module. It may be that the R & L arrow problem in the Develop module is due to a disconnect in finding and applying the edit history.I worked with Adobe support and nothing they did fixed th
Despite checking my internet connection successfully, it seems like the AI Generative Remove is taking much longer today. Is there a server problem?
Every time I create a virtual copy of an image, the copy of the image appears in a new folder. The new folder has the same name as the origin folder, and always appears outside subfolders - even if the image originated in a subfolder. The new folders only appears in the Lightroom interface and not on my hard drive. Trying to move the image copy back into the original folder results in an overwrite error. I have toggled back and forth the "stack with original" checkbox and it does not seem to change anything. Right now, the checkbox is checked and the issue persists. I have created a new catalog and attempted to work on the same images in a new catalog file, and issue still persists. Has anyone had this same issue? I am using Lightroom Classic 14.1.1, 2019 Intel MacBook Pro running OS 15.3. I also use Negative Lab Pro. For what it's worth, this issue predates both LR 14 and MacOS 15, but I cannot pinpoint exactly when it started. [Moved from ‘Bugs
Hi, I think it will be very useful to allow exportation of book created with LR toward InDesign. Blurb, PDF ... InDesign file... should be very interesting ! Alain
I downloaded LrC for the first time and turned on sync as I have a lot of photos in the Adobe cloud that I use with LR. It synced some images, but i changed my mind and do not want to sync LrC with LR's images. How do I safely remove the images from lightroom classic WITHOUT affecting the photos in the cloud for lightroom?
[Moved from ‘Bugs’ to ‘Discussions’ by moderator, according to forum rules.]
Hello,I recently upgraded to a Canon R6 Mark II from a Canon 5D Mark III. While using the Canon 5D Mark III, I was shooting in RAW2 format, and my custom presets worked perfectly. However, after switching to the R6 Mark II, the colors do not match when I apply the same presets to RAW3 files. Despite adjusting settings in Lightroom Classic (LrC), the colors remain off and appear faded when I move from the LrC preview to the Develop module.Interestingly, both the Mac Preview app and the Lightroom Classic preview show the correct colors, but once I enter the Develop module, the colors look washed out.I’ve tried the following:Resetting Camera Raw CacheAdjusting profiles in the Develop module (including Adobe Color, Adobe Standard, and Camera Matching)Testing with the Soft Proofing toolNone of these solutions have resolved the issue, and the colors in LrC are still not accurate in the Develop module compared to what I see in the Mac Preview app or on the camera screen.Has anyone encountered
Since a while I have problems with Lightroom CC crashing my whole computer, resetting it. My computer in brief: Ryzen 7950X3D, Asus ROG Strix B650E-F, 64 GB DDR5-6000, MSI RTX 4090, 1000 W Phanteks AMP, Windows 11. All drivers including chipset drivers updated. Symptoms: It happens semi-randomly, but seems tied to when Lightroom CC does some heavy lifting, such as generating previews, exporting images or just scrolling between images in library or development modules. The screen goes blank and the computer reboots. I am quite certain this is not heat or current related. The reasons for that:* It only happens when using Lightroom, not when playing demanding games such as MSFS2020.* It has happened while I was monitoring temps. CPU temp was not high and the GPU barely active.* Once I was looking at the task manager while it happened. It was not entirely sudden. I was generating previews when I saw CPU use drop sharply. Then, after a few seconds, the reboot came. Had
Lightroom Classic v.11.4.1; Windows 11 v.21H2 Hi, I’m a longtime lightroom user with no noticeable problem. I recently updated to a new computer (windows 11, I9 12900k, RTX 3060Ti, 32GB DDR5).And I’ve got some trouble with my “personal catalogue”, is one unique catalogue where I import all my personal pictures from other folders, most of which a classified by date with a few exceptions like smartphones folders, friends’ weddings… For some unknown reason a lot of these folders are listed in my Lightroom files explorer as empty (0 pictures) and some don’t show the correct amount of files. From want I recall, when installing the new computer few months ago, I copied the files on the new hard drive (went from HDD to SSD), opened my Lightroom Catalogue and recreated the link to the correct main personal folder containing every other. And did not notice anything weird at the time, I guess I would have… Now I have those “empty” folders with no images showing and t
I had a hdd crash and let professionals restore it. They managed to save 80% of the images. But now i really need to remove those 20% of just blank out images with the black exclamation mark on it. They are sitting there like dark sad reminders of all the photos i've lost. Is there a way to bulk remove all damaged images?
Hey, I've been a happy LR user since the dawn of time, and now I'm faced with a problem I can't seem to solve. And I can't remember exactly when it started. By way of lemma:Mac Studio M2 Sequoia;LrC latest version ;Eizo Coloredge;i1display. Screen freshly factory reset, calibration freshly performed, LrC freshly uninstalled then reinstalled, GPU acceleration freshly removed in LrC. My problem - summed up in the title of this message - lies in an obvious difference in rendering between the image in LR's “development” module and its export seen in “Preview” mac application. When this export is viewed in an app that manages colors “correctly” (qView or nomacs), I have no problem.Still, it drives me crazy. Especially as I'm not sure that the image, if I share it, will be seen correctly. Of course, if I take a screenshot of the image in the “development” module and look at the resulting PNG in “Preview” app : all's well... I poked around a bit - a lot - but nothing concl
I am trying to better understand the function of Lightroom Catalog back-ups and how many I can delete in order to free up storage space. These files are labeled "Lightroom Catalog-2-v12.zip" (the more recent) or "Lightroomn Catalog-2.Ircat.zip" (the older ones). Is there any reason to keep more than the most recent catalog back-up? If so, how many should I keep and/or how long should I keep them? Any advice would be greatly appreciated. Thanks, Scott {Moved from Lightroom Cloud to Lightroom Classic Forum by Moderator}
I have an old Spyder4 Pro puck and software installed on Windows 10, with the color profile loaded, and I noticed on both of my notebooks since the last fall Windows 10 update that the color profile keeps loading and unloading itself every 30 sec to 1 minute. I contacted Datacolor support and someone said this has to do with Windows 10 USB, bluetooth, and power management constantly resetting the LUT table in the video card.Does anyone else have the same problem, or found a solution?I was wondering if the newer Spyder5 software would help, so I placed an order for a new kit.
Hey today I tried to open my LRC but first it told me that my catalog couldn't open because it was already active somewhere else. When opening the app everything was gone. After reading the Adobe Support about this they told me to delete the lrcat.lock. So I did this and now I can't open my LRC at all. I only get a black banner on my desktop saying Lightroom Catalog opening but nothing else happens and the application itself won't open either. Does anybode maybe know what the problem could be or how I could fix this?
Hello everyone, I'm new to the community so I hope I'm doing things right. I am presenting this issue that I can't solve. I purchased the photography plan, and during the first import of a RAW file into Lightroom, while in the development phase, colored lines like the ones you see in the photo appear, and then the program crashes. This happens with all RAW files. Below are the tests I have conducted with the same error: -Different SD cards -clean installation of GPU drivers -different SD card reader -changed HDMI cables -tried different GPU ports -tried HDMI output from the motherboard -clean installation of Windows -tests on other PCs with the same file and no issues found. Do you have any advice, or should I just throw the PC in the trash? Thank you so much
I am tried multiple times to take advantage of the "Compare View" function. I have watched Julieanne's videos on this. But my version just doesn't seem to work as the tutorials and manual and instructions indicate. When I select a group of say 4 images to "Compare," when I "Pick" one, they are ALL selected. Julieanne's video seems to indicate that ONLY the "Select" image would get a flag as being "picked" not all of the group. I have re-started, updated, etc., yet this behavior does not change. Am I doing something wrong?

hey i have the task to organise thousands of photos into different topics (with overlapping themes so some photos could end up in more than one topic)they are all already perfectly organised by year and month into more than 20 yearly folders, each with 12 monthly subfolders of originals, plus one folder for a lightroom catalog of the years photos with extensive keywording, tagged locations and faces and of course a lot of develop settings.my ideal idea is to have all this with all the settings and tweaks in one big catalogue. has anybody any suggested workflows to get his? Experiences? Or mistakes to avoid?
