I have been using LR for about 20 years. Yesterday I was looking for an updated version and found LR Claasic 14.xxx. Downloaded and installed that version. Started LR and it tells me that I need to convert my catalog to the new version. Did that. LR opens and tells me that I need to purchase LR Classic. This was not my intention and Adobe doesn't mention this during the upgrade process. I am opposed to "renting" software. So I reinstalled version 6. Now when I open LR it tells me that I cannot open my catalog because it's a newer version. So it looks like Adobe is holding my files hostage unless I send them money. There's a term for that. Anyone have a solution?
My M2 Pro Mac is running Ventura 13.7.2. I did not update to Sonoma and have not yet updated to Sequoia. Looking at the new features in Sonoma and Sequoia I have not seen anything I care about, but if LrC and Topaz run faster on them than Ventura then that would be a good reason to update my MacOS. I have heard conflicting things about the use of the Apple Neural Engine in LrC, for example. Some have said LrC uses it and some say it doesn't. I have also heard conflicting statements saying the Neural Engine is faster in Sonoma and faster yet in Sequoia and other statements saying it has gotten slower and is actually faster in Ventura. Some have said that Sequoia also uses a lot more memory. I am not against updating to Sequoia, but since there are no new features I have seen so far that I care about then I am in no hurry. But if there are performance improvements for LrC and Topaz then I would then have a good reason to u
Lightroom Classic 11.3 on MacOS Catalina 10.15.7. "Use Graphics Processor" is Off in LRC Preferences. Soon after I updated from LRC 11 to 11.2, suddenly the LRC app window appears on the wrong display when I start it and I can not move or resize its window. The app's title bar (with the red/yellow/green gummies) is hidden under the Mac menu bar, even when I go to System Preferences and enable "Automatically hide and show the menu bar". LRC is not in full screen mode, as it is not in its own desktop Space and the Window menu says "Enter full screen", not "Exit full screen". I can enter and exit full screen mode, but it doesn't fix the problem. I also can't click and drag the sides or corners of the LRC app window to resize it. The mouse pointer changes to the normal double-sided arrow, but the window doesn't change. Using Spaces, either the function key or Ctrl-up arrow, I can see the title bar on the LRC window and I can then drag the app window onto a differ
Please can someone help me sort out a catalog issue I have?I have come back to using Lightroom after a number of years, my catalog is arranged by years and all files are stored on a dedicated hard drive, backed up to a NAS, labelled "Lightroom".All files are stored in Lightroom (D:)\users\Lightroom\PicturesMy files are somehow split into two file structures in the folders pane but both structures point to the same file location on 😧 (See screenshot)I have in the past tried to correct this and got into a terible mess so would appreciiate any help to enable me to get this all into one list as my OCD is going into overdrive! Thanks
I have reverted back to V14.1.0 and rebooted and all is now as it was so I will just wait to a new release/fix but I wanted to report it. Since the update V14.1.1 I noticed there were Masking Lag from wither Keyboard or my Loupedeck+ for editing.I have come across this issue previously, and it was when the new AI features were added, such as the Lens Blur feature and the same thing happened.Several reboots and a Loupedeck update. Still the same 'input' lag. TroubleshootingI have optimised the catalogue.Ram is not an issue or CPU as they typically run about 15% RAM, 20% CPU. Hi, I need to know how to get develop presets in Lightroom clustered together in the preset panel. After a lot of examining of the .xmp files, I notice the .xmp files that are grouped contain a line of code crs:Cluster="#01 PRESETS CLUB". This appears to group presets with the same cluster name together. If I remove the text between the quotation marks in an .xmp file the relevant file is not grouped or clustered. To modify this line in all my presets would take time. I am using both presets I have created myself and presets I have purchased. The independent developers must have a way of doing this quickly or have special s/w which allows them to create the .xmp files with this info. Further testing indicates that this data in the cluster line must be in upper case otherwise it won't work and will in fact corrupts the preset panel. If you look at the two screen shots I have attached it will explain it better. Note there are a couple of pr
Buenas a todos:No se si os pasara igual que a mi, pero me cuesta mucho ver ligtroom con ese fondo negro. Pregunto, es posible ponerlo mas claro o de otro color para verlo mejor? Gracias
Afternoon, I'm just looking to reach out as this hasnt happened before and I'm not to sure what im doing wrong or whats changed. My photos I've taken are are over 20mb once imported, edited and exported the files are only 6mb and 6.5mb. They still look fine and everything but it's usually at least double that in size. I'm just wondering if im doing something wrong or missing something. Thank you
I am running circles trying to undetstand exactly how the file management works between LR Classic and Lightroom. Example scenario:Create a new album in Lightroom, add a photo to testOpen LR ClassicI see the new album in my "From Lightroom CC" collections after sync updatesTo test I click stop syncing in LR ClassicThe album them disappears from LR Question: why would the album dissappear when I created it in Lightroom in the fist place? Shouldn't those files stay whether I want to see/edit/sync them in LR Classic or not? I read the help articles and can't get my brain around how the file management works.
In the past few months, I cant seem to get my external SSD's to appear anymore inm my sidebar/library mode...what am I missing? TIA
Looking for help resolving an issue. Here is a rundown of what I did that resulted in this. Wanted to start a new catalog since the one I had was so big, 500K + photos Moved all catalog files to external drive as a backupCreated a new catalog in LR ClassicPrompted to sync to new catalog, selected yes assuming it would pull all prior sync catalogs from other LR Classic catalogAs sync completed, noticed many synced folders contained less files than prior, one about 8500 less photosNoticed that also changed what was showing in Lightroom (mobile/cloud)Opened old catalog in LR Classic hoping the sync files would show back upOne specific folder shows over 9500 photos but many now missingMade sure the sync folder was the same as the prior sync folder on local driveLet sync run and files still not returningLightroom (mobile/cloud) still shows way less photos so essentially appears I lost them?Sync online shows zero issues Looking for help getting back the prviously synced catalo
Gracias
After LR Classic 13.0 and update 13.0.1 Lightroom is behaving weird on my second monitor. Before I could use the compare mode on the second monitor when in the develop module on the first without any issues.Could zoom in and out on the comparisons. After the update this behaves odd. Sometimes it will zoom in and out as before but most of the time it doesn't and one of the selected pics for comparison won't even show (just black) or sometimes even zooms in at a different percentage compared to the other. This only occurs when in the Develop module. Switching from Compare to Loupe on the second monitor sometimes won't work either - display goes black. When I switch to the Library module on the first screen there's no issue. I've got a very robust Windows system with 32 GB of RAM and a NVIDIA GeForce RTX 3060 Ti 8GB of RAM which before (v 12.5) just did the job without any trouble. Seems like Adobe rushed to do this update but forgot to test it thouroughly.
I have been banging my head on this for a good day or so, so looking for some help. I have a Plugin which I need to do some metadata tweaking when images are exported. The code (see below), sems to work and returns the expected results to the logfile, but the export doesn't continue and no image is exported. Can anyone see what I am doing wrong or missing ? Thanks local LrLogger = import 'LrLogger' local LrTasks = import 'LrTasks' local LrApplication = import 'LrApplication' -- Simple logger initialization for testing local logger = LrLogger("TestPostProcessActionProvider") logger:enable("logfile") -- Ensure it logs to Lightroom's log file logger:info("Plugin has started executing") return { sectionForFilterInDialog = function(viewFactory, propertyTable) return { title = "Update IPTC:Headline with Title", } end, postProcessRenderedPhotos = function(functionContext, exportContext) logger:info("Post-process act
To start I have no problems with Photoshop/PS Beta or Premiere Pro, only LR Classic. I have a pretty powerful system and I built it with overkill in mind. I won't say it's not the system but it has SSDs for the Operating system and I have a separate SSD as my Photography drive that houses my photos and the Lightroom files.I wish there was a way to reinstall LR over the current install and see if that does anything but I don't see a simple solution.I'm updated on all my drivers and current versions of Apps... Maybe someone can see in the system info that I copied from the preferences in LR... I have a folder called " to edit" . In that folder I have photos and another folder called "more edit". I tried to send the photos in the 'more edit" folder to the "to edit" folder. Lightroom says it already exists. When I try delete them from the "more edit" folder , then it is deleted in both. So "more edit" is a sub folder in "to edit" folder. How can I delete them in the "more edit " folder. Thanks for any help
After making the basic edits in Lightroom CC I continue editing them in Photoshop by choosing "edit in Photoshop". When I'm done in Photoshop, I merge all layers, then hit "save".Normally, this image then returns in Lightroom immediately. However, lately, either it doesn´t show up in Lightroom at all, or it takes a very long time for it to show up. All programs are updated.Does anybody know what the problem is?
I've been using lightroom classic since november, it ran fine first but now "2 days ago" when i touch one knob it takes longer to render than it took the graphics team to render the blackhole scene on interstellar. Is lightroom classics code written on the web version of python, and how long does it take to write "hello world"? How is it possible that my computer can run rdr2 80fps on max but it takes a quantum computer 10 to the power of sweet jesus to raise exposure by 0.01 in lightroom classic if it evens opens up the software that is. Now yea ive tried every solution that has been written on the web since google was published to the public and to no avail. If by some miracle anyone in here has the golden solution to fix my "lightroom slow" incident here, i will for eternity pray upon your soul that nothing bad ever happens to you. Below are my computer specs: More than good enough to use a photoediting software.
been on numerous calls with adobe reps to no avail since October. Synced images in Lightroom delete from Collections in Lightroom classic. Have uploaded the diagnostics log with no response. Please help
I back-up my catalogs regularly and have my preferences set to Open Most Recent Catalog. To free up disk space, I delete old back-ups. However, when I delete a specific back-up and the one to which show as the location of the catalog, things get messed up. This is a fairly new issue that arose about 3-4 months ago.I would think the location of the catalog would update to the most recent back-up. What am I misunderstanding or doing wrong? Thank you
Adobe Creative Cloud is trying to update my Lightroom and Photoshop to 14.1 (I think), but it never gets beyond 13%. It advanced from 11% yesterday, however. So, the update is either very slow or has some other problem. I have no other issues with my Internet connection. This is the yearly basic plan with 20GB, and it is a Windows 11 system.
Hi all, I have an unusual problem with Lightroom that I can't seem to fix, and it appears to be due to the way Windows stores files. I have a folder with an archive of old weddings, but on first import, Lightroom only imported 6000 of the 23000 images. When I right-click>synchronize on the archive folder, Lightroom tells me there are 17,000 new images. However, when I hit Synchronize again, it says there are no images to import. Where things get stranger is when I drag the images in to import from the individual subfolder, it creates the strangest file structure: As you can see above, there is the original "processed" archive where some images are, and the strange new one Lightroom has added with the ~ signs. Has anyone experienced this before and could suggest a fix? Many thanks.
