I am using Lightroom 6.14 (as that was last perpetual licenses version) I have just reinstalled onto W11 PC, and need to set up 'Adobe DNG Converter' I can't recall what compatability version to set it to.
I have numerous issues when I try to move or rename a folder.Often I get error messages like "The folder ... could not be renamed or moved". Sometimes a variant. It's not a permissions problem as eventually it works.Sometimes I need to go play a video in an other folder. Sometimes I need to deselect the folder to move it. Sometimes I need to select it to move it. Sometimes it only helps to wait for another day and try again. When searching this forum I see people complaining with the same issue from years ago. So why is this issue still not solved? It seems to be mostly with folders that have videos in them.Even if there is a good reason not to move/rename a folder, it should give a better error to indicate what is wrong (but really it should solve the issue itself or wait until the issue is solved).
I'm using Lightroom Classic CC to edit Panasonic RW2 RAW files and always do my best to ETTR (Expose To The Right). But on a very few occasions my camera still under exposes and when I boost the shadows I'm left with very obvious green noise.I know I can (and do) remove it manually with the adjustment brush. Is there a way to do it automatically without having to use the brush for the rare times I need it now?
Does LR classic work in workstation without photomembership monthly payment? I have payed that many months but i have never used anything else than LR in workstation.
When in LR, You have selected an image, you click on it and select EDIT IN PS. PS opens but no image is imported. LR Classic 13.5.1PS 25.11.0Windows 11
Hello! I've been having this problem with Adobe Lightroom (Classic) on and off, but it's now become more consistent issue. The shadow values are being crushed or flattened out into a grey-ish tone. At first I thought this was a screen calibration issue, and when I sent an image from my computer (a 2020 macbook pro) to a friend's freshly calibrated screen, it looked pretty bad. But the problem persisted even after I calibrated my screen and then sent another test image. I'm nervous that it's an issue with my entire catalogue, because even when I set my profile to Adobe neutral, all the shadows looks strange. The difference is even more apparent when swtiching from the Develop module to the Library module. I think this goes a beyond a calibration issues. I've attached some images as a comparison. If anyone can see it, even just slightly, and has a solution, I would be extremely grateful. This has been really affecting my work as a photography student and I want to fix it.
I would like to see a partnership between Meta and Adobe where we are able to use Lightrooms services that allow us to upload to sites like Shootproof etc. If we had a way to edit our photos, and then upload them directly to Meta, we would be able to then drag and drop images from the collection in Meta and utilize their content planner more efficiently. You'd essentially cut out the middle man and directly upload your edits and then schedule the time and day for postings.
Hello,I am using LrC 13.4.Since yesterday, HDR merge has not been working properly. While trying to merge multiple sets, the program would pause after completing a few and would display the remaining as being queued. Most recently, the HDR dialog box does not open at all.I'm on Windows 11.BackgroundAbout a week ago, I moved my catalog to an external SSD so I could work from several computers.Things worked fine for a few days, but then LrC crashed and told me the catalog was corrupt. It repaired the catalog and worked fine again.Yesterday, LrC crashed due to my corrupted catalog two times in a row. It repaired the catalog both times. Now, however, HDR merge does not work properly. I had been trying to merge ~116 sets, and it completed about half of them just fine before crashing with a corrupt catalog. This was repaired, and I attempted to carry on, but LrC would only put the HDR merges into the queue. It made no progress on merging any of them. This was true when doing them individually,
This is the complaint:And this is what System Settings thinks:And this is what I think of Apple making it so difficult: 😠 😉
My current external drive is old and starting to make noise. I want to use a new external drive that has all the files (photos) backed up on it. How do I do this?
I use color labels to denote what pictures need future processing. Green photos need to be panorama merged, blue photos need to be stacked for astrophotography, yellow are HDR merged. When I'm culling from a shoot I'm in Loupe View most of the time using the flag system to denote edit/no-edit pictures. A lot of my shots are single pictures, but I come across sets of images that need to be marked with green/blue/yellow and then grouped. When in Loupe View, if you select multiple images on the filmstrip and then hit "8" to mark them as green, only the first one in the selection set gets marked as green. However, when I switch to Grid View, hitting "8" does mark all selected photos as green. Interestingly, if I'm in Loupe View and I right click on a picture in a selection set and set the color label, that will mark all of them as that color label. It appears it's something in the keyboard shortcut that doesn't allow this. Would appreciate clarification on if this is a feature no
I'm running Lightroom classic 13.5.1.everything is up to date with Lightroom and mypcc.Imm running windows 10my Lightroom keeps closing and restarting mypcc at random times. I've noticed it happens more commonly when using radial masks, but it does restart at other random times as well
Throughout my photography career, I've exclusively used Lightroom Cloud. To this date, I have uploaded over 17,000 photos to the cloud. Recently, though, I have had to use Lightroom Classic for work because of the keywording features (I work in athletics). I want to be able to upload my final photos from Lightroom Classic to Lightroom Cloud. I turned on the sync collections feature and it worked, i synced my folders into Lightroom Cloud. The problem is it also attempted to download all 17,000 photos from my cloud onto my computer! Is there a way to ONLY sync Lightroom classic photos to the cloud version but not vice versa? I know I could always export the photos in classic and reupload them into the cloud, but I'd like to have my metadata, like adjustments, saved so I can go back and adjust them in the future. This always just requires another couple of steps versus just transferring automatically. I know this is a niche issue for someone using both platforms for different workflows, b
I have just bought the photography package and have never used Lightroom or Photoshop before. I am a mac user. I have saved some raw (tiff) files onto my desktop and want to be able to save the finished photo onto my NAS and for Lightroom to manage the library. It seems simple enough to import the file into lightroom make my adjustments and export the finished tiff file to the NAS. Am I right in thinking that if I now wish to edit further in Photoshop I can open the tiff from the NAS make any changes I want and then when finished just overwrite the file on the NAS or is it good practice/necessary to keep both the original lightroom file and the Photoshop file. If I keep both will Lightroom library track this. Obviously having no experience I want to start off the "right" way and ensure my libary is set up so I can go back to an early photo in either Lightroom or Photoshop and re-edit as I become more proficient. Thanks in advance for your help and advice.
My photo's are automatically lightened after import (wihtout moving the sliders). Does anyone know how to fix this? I am on purpose shooting slightly underexposed. And LrC makes my photo's ligther, but I am loosing some details with this action from LrC. When I manualy make my pfoto's ligther I keep the details. This problem occured past few days. Weeks beofre I did not have this problem. Already removed LrC and installed again.
Here is my issue I am facing and hope somebody can help me or explain it to me. I took some room photos. The rooms have only 3 walls so the inside is darker then the outisde. So I expose my camera for he outside and then take several images with the same settings one base iamgage with out a flash and the rest using flash to brigthen the inside walls, furniture etc. In Lightroom I pick the once I want and adjust the expoure etc for the first image. (no flash image) I then copy the same settings to other images with the flash trying to keep the exposure for the outside but all the outside exposures getting brighter especillay in images where I have more flash or brighter flash in forground. should the outside exposure not stay the same as no flash hit the tree or the sky . but it is sometimes 1 -2 brigther (depnding how bright the flash is in the image) then the no flash image even so all settings in the camera and in lightroom on each picture are the same . Hello, This just started today 9-21. Edit in Photoshop from LRC has been the busiest issue for quite some time and now it stopped working altogether. I don't want to uninstall Photoshop 24 to find out it did not solve the issue. Is anyone else having these problems or have a fix they can recommend? Charles
I bought Lightroom on CD over a decade ago and I use it occasionally. Since last use I have upgraded my motherboard and processor and updated to W11. When I first tried to run Lightroom after these changes I was offered a 32000+ day trial with no other options to continue. I clicked "Start Trial" and Lightroom just hung. And continues to hang on multiple attempts. Is there anything I can do to resurrect Lightroom? Thanks Alan Denby
I dont want lighroom to start detecting all the faces in my photos and showing them in the people tab. It's voyeuristic and creepy. How to stop the program from doing that?
I'm encountering an issue with creating collages in the Lightroom Classic Print Module. When I export collages, the resulting images often appear pixelated or compressed, significantly deviating from the original photo quality. For instance, the attached photo demonstrates the quality degradation. My current workflow involves selecting photos, putting them in the custom collage spaces, clicking "Print to File," and then exporting the collage.I'm seeking guidance on how to optimize my settings or workflow to ensure that the exported collages maintain the same level of quality as the original photos.Thank you so much!
Lightroom Library View/Loupe View should have option to view Image Aspect Ratio (i.e. 1.5). Often when selecting images for use in publications created in Indesign and also for planning for print and framing, it is useful and in many cases critical to know the edited images aspect ratio. This is a simple calculation with information aready captured and retained in Lightroom, namely Pixel Height/Pixel Width. To be able to immediately view and identify Edited images of select aspect ratios and even better to search and sort by image aspect ratio should be an easy and very useful to Lightroom users focused on Printing and or creation of publications, which I imagine most everybody. Please add this feature ASAP! Thx!
There's a photographer who made a reel "Upload sharp photos on instagram".I have a quick question: are these settings specifically for a 4x5 aspect ratio, or do they apply to any photo orientation, like horizontal or vertical? Also, when I export using these settings, I get a very large file size, around 5 to 8 MB. I really thought that the bigger the file size the more it gets compressed badly on social media. I usually export at 72 DPI instead of 240, as what this photographer suggested. Does this also work well for Facebook uploads? Thank you!
After today's (Sept 24/24) updates to PS v25.12 and LrC v13.51, PS will no longer open when trying to send an image from LrC (Photo > edit in > edit in Adobe Photoshop). Why has this happened after today's updates? What is the 'fix'?
