When creating an IPTC template the caption field is one tiny line. Please can this be expanded to several lines so that I can see the whole caption as I write it. Also, Apple's Aperture used to show you the detail of the IPTC template in the import window before importing images, this allowed you to make slight adjustments to the template just for that import session. This would be very useful in Lightroom. I might be wrong but I don't see any "Find and Replace" option for IPTC metadata. If I have an error in a caption or IPTC field I have to manually find and change each image instead of using a global 'Find & replace' string and choosing which fields it should apply to.
I have two adobe accounts, one personal (photo plan for my stuff) and one for work (Enterprise account paid for by my employer, where I am not using it for photography). Occasionally I log into my enterprise account on my personal machine. When I do that, LR Classic wants to sync my photos to my work account, which I don't want, since the photos are mine and not work-related. I know I should just try to remember to quit LRC when I switch accounts, but I was wondering if adobe app prefs are also specific to an account. So I could set it up to not sync when logged into the enterprise account. (I don't have LR installed at all on the work machine, since my job doesn't involve taking pictures.) Thoughts? If this doesn't exist, it might be something to put out there if others would find useful.
Working in multiple fields of photography, I have many local adjustment presets. It is time-consuming to scroll through the full list, as there is no mouse scroll capability. It would be great to organize the local adjustment presets into folders or collections (Real Estate, Retouching, Details, etc.)that can be displayed in the preset list as separate sections and can be collapsed. Similar to the Develop Presets. One essential part of this suggestion is to remove the default Lightroom local adjustment Presets on top of the list. I believe they are not beneficial to many people and can use the room up there.
In lightroom it's possible to ignore photos, that are already in the catalog. Thats fine. However, sometimes there are situations where imported photos are already processed (e.g. rejected and deleted from the catalog) but without deleting the origin source of the photo, lightroom would re-import these again. Especially with SD-Cards that are not formatted right after the import, its often happening. For me it would be helpful to have another status "already processed" beside the existing "already in catalogue" and "new". On import i can decide on my own if i want to refuse the files or reimport this again. Technically i could imagine to use some kind of unique hash which any image should have (?) and save this to a catalog database.
Please add Preserve Details 2.0 to the LrC export page. Obvious locaion would be in the Resize dialogue box. It will save a trip to PS.
Why not move the Visualize Spots checkbox up to the Healing Tool area, since that is the only tool it is associated with?
When the Index Numbers are displayed in the Compact Cell view mode in the Library Module, they appear very large, slightly behind the thumbnail (preview). The large number is legible until you find yourself working on beyond 100 images in a Collection especially when those images are vertical orientation. The Index Number becomes almost completely obscured by the thumbnail (preview), making it illegible and useless. The Extended Cell view does alleviate this quirk by displaying the Index Number small, and above the preview. It just gets me right in the OCD that the Compact Cell view has this - albeit minor - annoyance.
Hello, I would like to suggest including the possibility of being able to move, right and left, the RGB channels in the histogram and not just the areas as is now the case with shadows, exposure, highlights and whites. The screenshot is to help you understand what to add in the histogram with the possibility of selecting the single RGB channel.Regards Fabio
In Lightroom Classic, in the Visualize Spots option, add the ability to view the pins as crawling ants, or Blinkeys. Much like you can visualize in camera if you are in focus. This so they will be more visible. This would be helpful when editing healing after a mass batch pasting of heals. This as an aid to determine if any heal pins wind up on top of a part of an image that should not have the heal applied. An example would be a set of Air Show photographs, where, unfortunately, your sensor had lots of spots. You might edit one image for all the possible heals. Copy that into Develop Settings, then batch paste that into the remaining photos. But some of those heals will wind up on the aircraft, and will need to be removed.
Hello develope please allow me to expand "Import from Catalog" window its very narrow. I'd like to make it a bit wider because it's hard to see and select folder location names. ps.mouse arrow allow to drag for expand but when i drag side edge it don't move wider it stick at this size
Hi all, I spend a lot of time navigating the Develop menu. (Solo mode on)Can it be possible to add an "Custom" or "Favorites" menu, on top, or between "Edit, masking healing" menu bar and the "Basic, Tone Curve" menu? Here I can drag/drop/add my must used items from "all" the develop menus, ex. I need some times the "auto" button in Basic, the "litte colour selection dot" in the Colour mixer, HSL, Saturation menu, and Luminance and Colour in the Detail menu. It can of course be limited to max 10 items to keep the list short. It takes time to navigat the "collapsed" menues in Solo mode, or a lot of scrolling in "regular" mode. Yes, I know I can "Customize develop panel" but, not put MY most used tools in a "Favorites" menu. Thumbs up?Best, Steve Nilsen
I would like to suggest the option to schedule batch tasks in LRC. For example if I have several different sessions with different edits, some can take 20 minutes to batch. It would be nice to be able to set the first image of each session and set the task for LR to batch one after the other. Could be done at night and run for a few hours and not have to sit and wait for it to complete all day.
When Importing Raw files from SD-card, the "don`t import suspected duplicates" feature doesnt work, if I had converted to DNG before.Scenario: I shoot 100 photos in Sony Raw ARW. I import them onto my notebook. 10 files i want to keep and i convert them to DNG to archive the files. Later i shoot 100 photos more. For backup reasons i have not deleted the photos from the SD card yet. I put the SD card with now 200 photos into my notebook and check the box for "don`t import suspected duplicates" and Lightroom will import 110 photos, instead of 100. 10 photos will be duplicates, but in ARW and DNG.
Please!! Oh Please!! When I import pictures into lightroom, I select the pictures I want to import by spending tens of minutes scrolling through each picture in full view mode, and selecting the ones I want to import. By reflex, EVERY TIME I am done and I am at the end of the picture list I hit ESC -- To get out of the 'Full picture mode', BUT, this cancels the import altogether, and it's a really big waste of time. And no matter how much I repeat this... Hitting the ESC key is just pure reflex at each time, and it really annoys me. What about when we hit ESC Key in Import Dialog when full picture is on, it first comes back to the 'list view'?
It is common in many programs that deal with batch management of folders to have a facility to exclude any folder from a bulk action. For example bulk copying between two PCs or backing certain folders in a group up. There appears to be no similar function in LRC when synchronizing subfolders of a specific folder. Some I'd like in Lightroom, some not. I'd like one please. Please note this is not a discussion on my workflow pattern.
I have a group photo and want LRC to recognise faces. On several different faces, the same name is suggested with a question mark. As soon as I have acknowledged the name for a specific face, all other suggestions of the same name for other faces should instantly be cleared. The software should always assume that a single person can only be present once on a given photo! (Even if a mirror arrangement shows the same person multiple times, it should only be tagged once.)
the publish service collections do not show up in the right click menu "go to collection". I'm finding it baffling that there is distinction between normal collections and the ones inside publish services. They are all collections, with the same rules etc. currently there is no way to check if a particular photo was published through one of the publish services. being able to see that is belongs to publish service collections wouls help with that. I would like to be able to see if a photo was published and where. The information is there it just needs to be linked. Some 3rd party publish services add custom metadata to photos to let them be tracked but this is not standarised and sadly quite rare.
Feature request/idea: I want to generate and upload a Lightroom Class Web Gallery in several languages. The SDK documentation (Lightroom Classic SDK Guide.pdf) states on page 126 :"Localization occurs when the user publishes the gallery. To get different language versions, the user mustrun Lightroom Classic in the desired locale, and publish another version of the gallery."Setting my Lightroom Classic language to any other than my native language each time I generate (and test) several web galleries would make using Lightroom very tedious. I believe it would make a lot more sense if the "Upload" button asks for the Locale to be used during generation of the web gallery. (Lua based translations (like Previous, Index, Next for gallery navigation) are already present in Lightroom Classic)
Option to quickly add multiple healing spots before processing would save a lot of time.
Would it be posible to add in a vertical aspect ratio such as 9:16 in the LAYOUT section of the Slideshow Module in order to make quick and easy slideshows for social media and mobile devices?
I've found that I need to create simple ken-burns stlye slideshows for clients and events quite often. Since I have my images in Lightroom already it makes perfect sense to use the Slideshow Module... except that it looks like it hasn't been updated in years and has an array of issues... Unable to specify frame rate, Black frames or overlapping frames between many slides (possibly due to 29.97 preset frame rate?). Glitches when using cross fades (Windows) Clunky old-stlye Explorer navigation on Windows when selecting music. Images don't scale up to fill the frame (clients don't always provide perfect resoluton images) Limited to 1080p resolution Pan and zoom isn't true pan and zoom, it crops the edges out as it zooms. Exporting doesn't always work on my system (Windows). Lightroom is a great application and the slideshow module is useful and makes logical sense to be included, please give it some love and improve it!
It's a pretty common task that -- when a folder gets big-- you start creating SUBFOLDERS underneath it to help you organize. Lots of different ways people do this.... Example 1 -- <EPS Varsity Frisbee 2023> Game 1 - vs Northwest Game 2 - vs SAAS Example 2 -- <Smith wedding weekend> DONE - already edited IN PROGRESS - keep tweaking (haven't finished individually applying adobe AI noise reduction!) TO DO - not touched In both these cases, it's REALLY HARD to figure out WHICH ITEMS IN THE ROOT have not yet been filed in a subfolder.Solution: add a menu command to right-click for "Select without Subfolders" .. which only shows the images IN THE ROOT folder. (Credit for this idea to Microsoft Digital Image Library .. a great old-and-dead photo mgmt app. :))
Rectangular Marqee tool for Healing is needed a lot for years, please add it, thank you.
Buona giornata a tutti
