Lightroom Classic

Hello - I purchased a new MacBook Pro recently and need to install my LrC presets on my new Mac. My old Mac is dead. LrC is unable to open on my old Mac so therefore I cannot migrate anything from my current LrC catalog. I have my presets saved in a folder on my new Mac. Is there a way to install my presets to LrC and essesntially start fresh on my new Mac? Please help. I am so lost. 

I use LrC on an  iMac  running Sonoma.  I keep all of my photos on an external drive which is updated to the cloud hourly and backed up on a second drive at night. The drive is getting long in the tooth and I am replacing it with a SSD.  I am using ChronoSync software to mirror the contents of the old drive to the new drive--the content should look the same on both drives, only the name of the drives will differ. So how do I change out the old drive and replace it with the new and have it work seemlessly with my Lightroom catalog from the getgo?   I am pretty ignorant of the technology, so please be clear on the steps. Thanks in advance for your help!Rob

I have a Macbook Pro (M1 Max with 64Gb) with Sonoma 14.6.1 and Lightroom Classic 13.5.  The performance of certain tasks indicates there is a substantial problem.  For example, hitting Auto in the develop module can take up to 10 seconds to produce a result.  Simialarly, doing a cmd-Z or updating the history in the develop module take a long time (many seconds) to complete.  But changing between the Library and Develop module and changing the sliders on the develop module produce immediate results.   One other thing, looking at the Activity Monitor, I see Lightroom using between 100-360% (not less that 100%) of the CPU when I am doing nothing at all.  It is just sitting there in the Library module. Has anyone seen someting like this?  Suggestions?

If try to denoise in Lightroom Classic I get a crash report when it tries to load the preview results.I've updated my drivers and I highly doubt its anything to do with hardware, since I have specs above the recommended

Lens Blur brush refinements aren't copied to the target photo by Sync Settings / Copy/Paste Settings.   To reproduce on LR 13.4 / Mac OS 14.5:   1. I'm using an ordinary Dell U3818 monitor.  If I'm printing I'm using an ordinary Epson 3880 printer.Everything I'm displaying on - ordinary display screen for the web, HD screen (1080p I suspect) for competition, pretty much anything else are all going to be ordinary monitors or TV screens fed from laptops at 1920x1080, or my regular 3818 Dell monitor. In this environment is there any point turning on the HDR stuff in the Lightroom Library or playing with HDR in the Develop module?

hi, i always have error message when i use AI.... sometimes it work, but 75% not.  (see attach file). i have the last version, and a good precessor & SSD. how to have the option withour error ? help !

Hello, Since updating to version 13.5 today from the previous version, I've been encountering a frustrating problem.As background information, my catalog is very large. I've noticed that loading the metadata takes an extremely long time (see Screenshot 01).This was never an issue with the previous version. Due to this never-ending loading process, my color-marked pictures aren't displaying their colors properly (see Screenshot 02).Additionally, in the left folder view, albums no longer show the number of pictures they contain (see Screenshot 03).Another issue is that my "View Options," which are set to display the filename, ISO, or focal length (and can be switched using the "I" shortcut), aren't showing anything or switching as they should.   Is this a known bug? Since the update to Lightroom Classic 13, whenever I edit a photo in Lightroom Classic with an AI mask, e.g. person, background, background blur etc, and sync it to lightroom, the photo does not display in Lightroom with the Lightroom Classic edits at all.Photos with non AI asking applied, e.g. object, brushes and linear gradients DO display with the appropriate edits in Lightroom when synced.I have been on line with Adobe numerous times and they are useless and don't admit that there is an issue, even when I clearly show them my processes, both with AI masking and non AI masking applied and show them in Lightroom the relevant photos not displaying edits and displaying edits.Is anyone else having this issue? This worked properly with AI edits applied in Lightroom Classic Ver 12.0.I have updated to the latest versions of Lightroom Classic August 2024 update and Lightroom August 2024 update.Can anyone help please?

I have recently done an update on my Lightroom and since the update it will not preview the images. When I create a new folder and select the new folder it shows all the images  once but once I have clicked import the task bar trys fetching previews but locks up. the images are imported into light room but till I select one image, which I do not know what it is till I select it, it appears and I can edit. I have tried removing folders and re-importing to no success. Previous folders where I had no issue the previews have vanished, /i makes no difference if images are raw or jpeg, can anyone help   [Mod: Changing title]

I'm confused. The R1 and R5ii were announced on same day, the new update mentions the R1, but not the R5ii. In the long list of supported models, it shows the R5ii but the fields are empty. Did they miss something in this update?

For some reason Lightroom just hangs when i click on the icon. So I updated just now and its still hanging. I open task manager and its there but no launch.Anyone with some help on this please.Thanks

Just upgraded to a new Windows 11 computer.  During the move to the new machine Lightroom (V13.4) grabbed a bunch of folders (such as My Documents, My Videos, etc) that shouldn't be in Lightroom (I have no idea why these folders ended up in Lightroom - but that is beside the point (obviously I did something screwy).  To get rid of those extra folders  - I used the command "Remove From Lightroom" on all the folders that shouldn't be in Lightroom.  In the process ALL 30,000 photos that were supposed to be in Lightroom were removed as well.  How do I get the photos that should be in Lightroom BACK into my catalog?  Is there such a thing as an undo "Remove from Lightroom command" ???  A few points... The images still exist - they just are no longer in Lightroom. (if I somehow get them back into Lightroom - will I lose all my edits and collections?I do have a recent back up on the current V 13.4 catalogI have a catalog from a prior version of Lig

Hello! Ça fait déjà un moment que j'ai remarqué que mon iMac (2019) chauffe beaucoup (~60°c) dès que j'utilise Lightroom Classic.. Un peu embêtant quand on est pro! J'ai pas mal augmenté la mémoire cache Camera Raw (50go) + cache vidéo (10go).Dans la mesure du possible pour soulager un peu le Mac, quand je travaille sur LrC, il n'y a que lui d'ouvert... Mais ça devient quand même problématique toute cette chauffe! D'autres personnes qui rencontrent le même problème ? Adobe ou autres, quelles solutions pour y remédier? Merci d'avance! 

I've been working with Nikon support on an issue with "high" ISO noise in my RAW images from the Nikon Z8 camera. They had me import these images using their NX Studio and standard MacOS file copy to a local drive. WHen viewing the unedited RAW images in NX Studio or directly from the memory card using MacOS Finder, the images look as shot.When importing into LightRoom Classic or Lightroom (current versions auto-updated via creative cloud) the images are initially rendored in the Library multi-image view as expected, but then each one starts to get covered in a 30% "screen" or dark overlay as if they were shot in darkness. This introduces a lot of luminous noise into every image.For images shot at ISO 64 or 100 I don't notice this as much if at all, but as soon as I hit 400+ (typicaly ISO 800) I start to see it, and above ISO 1000 it is killer.This has bee going on since day one of my Z8 and I thought it was my camera, but then we tested wtih NX Studio and no problem. I know

Lightroom v 13.3.1 on Windows 11 I have searched for answers to this, but seems it's not a common problem. Happens every time.  I changed the motherboard, processor and GPU a few weeks ago in a big upgrade on my PC. All was working swimmingly and lovely.  Then, for some reason, overnight, Lightroom has started taking forever and an age to open. I open it, the first frame of the app appears, then it hangs for a while. Then the splash screen appears, then disappears, then nothing happens other than the small blue circle spinning. Nothing loads.  It then says Lightroom is unresponsive and stays like that. For about 4 mins!!! It then appears, finally, but takes a while to load all the images. Once up and running, it's relatively smooth, but after about half an hour of editing, it starts to significantly slow down.  My computer runs from a 1Tb SSD M.2 drive with two others as dump drives. It's now running an MSI Z790 motherboard with BIOS co

When I'm in Lightroom Classic and choose to use the Attribute_Virtual Copy filter I get this message "No photos match this filter". I use this all the time and just noticed it stopped working yesterday. I, at first, thought it was due to this being in a new folder but, when I went to old folders and tried the filter it didn't work on them either. I rebooted the Mac and tried it again but, this filter still doesn't work. After doing all my "post" on a shot, I always make a virtual copy of it, so when I am done working on photos in a folder I can just apply this filter and "export with presets" the result.

I have a problem with LRc on my Macbook Pro M1 (32 GB RAM/ 2 TB SSD): everything is running extremely slow. Changing from one photo to another takes e.g. about 30' in the "Development" module. The slowness applies to almost everything. It was not there from the beginning, but gradually increased within the last few months...   The Adobe support is underground: first one has to talk to a robot until the robot decides to give over to a human. The humans are little better, as they give general place paste/copy suggestions and refer to websides that are acessible anyhow, but all these suggestions do not help. Needless to say they fade away shortkly afterwards... . No advertisement for the expensive subscription 😞   I read here in the forum that the slowing down of LRc seems to be a common problem with Mac OS, but could not find a real solution. Hi, when I try to export the color profile generated by Xrite Color Checker Camera Calibration, I manage to visualize the profile from the image that generates it, but when I copy and paste the processing settings in another image, the generated profile does not appear. I uninstalled and reinstalled Lightroom Classic, but the problem is not solved. The path to the folder where the profile file is located is C:\UsersNameUserAppData\Roaming\Adobe\CameraRaw\CameraProfiles. Can you help me? Windows 11Lightroom Classic v. 13.5Camera RAW v. 16.5

Seit gestern 15.08.24 (letztes Update) lässt sich Lightroom Classic nicht mehr starten !!! 

I store my photos on an external hard drive. My catalog was on C drive. I moved it to the same directory in a new computer. However, the .lrcat files appear as folders and not a clickable file. If I excutre Lightroom, it creates a .lrcat file which, when I click, does not recognize any folders in the left panel and only suggests that I import the photos. This obviously will cause 15 years of hard work to be lost. What have gove wrong and how can I fix that? BTW - the old computer shos the .lrcat files correctly and when I move them to Dropbox for sncronization with the new machin they still look okay. But the new computer doesn't recognize them as clickable .lract files in Dropbox either. Your help will be grealty appreciated.
