Lightroom Classic

 I took a photo of 2 people against a shiny reflective background. The end result was there was a bright white reflection between the 2 people. Can you help me with which tool I should use to remove or change this in Lightroom Classic?

I am getting an Error message when trying to export my images from Lightroom.I assumed maybe it was the file type - so I tried to use JPEG to JPEG and It is still giving me an error.  I am quite sure it is from the same source. The photos are saved on my PC in my "documents" and being exported to the same place. My Harddrive on my PC is not full. 

When I switch from Library to Develop, the photograph is shown but the develop panel is hidden. Clearly I have pressed something I shouldn't. Please advise how I restore the hidden panel. Thank you Kpee

Almost 1/4 (one quarter) year without any Lithroom Classic update, maybe we we might see a new version in the near future 😉

LrC v. 13.2, MacOS Sonoma 14.4.1 I am trying to send photos directly out of LrC with gmail via the "email photo" function.  My gmail account is validated and is, as far as I can tell, good to go.  However, I hit send and nothing comes through.  There's no error message or anything.  The email looks as if it was sent but never actually comes though and lands in the recipient account inbox.  Nor does it show up in my gmail as sent, draft, etc.  No issues with spam.  LrC has full disk access.  Same thing happens when I try to email though Apple Mail (which is my gmail ). Thoughts on a possible fix? Thank you in advance. 

I am responsible for losing my LRC catalog. I somehow added the dates of all my picture foldersand the file names in a separate list in the catalog. In the process of deleting them from the catalog since the lists were redundant, I proceeded to lose the organized catalog. The dates and folder names are still present but I have no way to send the photos anywhere. No longer are there any choices on the top of the screen such as Photo with which I could send the images to be edited in PS. First, how do I slowly reenter the file names by year and date which is how they were organized before this mess. Second, how do I send the photos in the remaining lists up to PS? I am assuming that there is no chance to find my catalog anywhere.Thanks,  Photodoc16

Currently a thumbnail of a video file is automatically displayed only when the drive containing that video file is attached. LRC will display the first frame in the video. If the drive is unattached, an empty frame is displayed unless a manual process is executed to select and apply an image to be the poster/thumbnail. This proposal requests that LRC automatically import that first frame and save it as the video thumbnail for display when its drive is unattached. We use LRC as an index to many, many drives containing images and videos. We search for shots and clips in it and then go to the drive to work with those objects. Being able to see the some representation of the object is critical to knowing if we want to work with it. And LRC is great on that front with still images. This proposal would save us the overhead time of manually selecting poster frames for the many video clips in which the initial frame is descriptive enough for us to understand the clip's content.

I am using a HP all in one with Win11 and LRC, I happened to look at my Norton 360 while doing my windows  update downloads and happened to notice 3 instances of Lightroom using up my CPU when the program isn't even open. 1. Why?2. How do I stop that from happening?

with one off the new updates in Light room Classic, the small on/off toggle were changed in the eye symbol which now only temporarly removes that category (Basic, HSL/colour etc) from the picture, as long as the button remains pressed, is there any possibilities to get the more permanent on off switch back?its really messing with my workflow to not be able to semi permenatly remove certain aspects from the editing, so i really miss the little bugger!   {Moved from Lightroom Cloud to Lightroom Classic Forum by Moderator} 

  I've been using Lens Blur for a while now and wanted to comment on a couple of things. I love the feature but it is a real CPU hog. I have 32 gb of RAM. A new NVIDIA GEFORCE RTX4060 TI 16gb memory. I have an I7 4 core 3.4 ghz processor. When I spend a lot of time editing a photo, my computer bogs down using up to 100% of the cpu and up to 50% of memory. I do have cloud sync paused. I also have cache maxed out at 200 gb. I have very few other processes running at the same time. Outside of over clocking my processor (risky) or replacing my processor, I am at a loss as to how to improve performance. Is this a beta or development issue with Adobe? Any thoughts?    Having the Focus and Blur brushes seems to be absolutely critical. It's fairly easy to spot areas wher blur should be more focused and focus should be more blurred. These features along with the use of visualize depth gives me a lot of flexibility to enhance what AI couldn't get right. Great work Adobe. I'm

Is there some way to alter the thumbnail view in Lightroom Classic to display more useful info? For example, I don't feel a need for a big, and arbitrary, image number showing next to each thumbnail. More useful would be the image name. And since I work with many external drives and want to know which drive contains a selected image, having the option to display the file path for the selection would speed things up vs right clicking for a finder view to see the path in an error message. And it woud be more helpful for me than something All Photographs or Previous Import. Thanks!

Hi,I'm very lost now with catalogue corruptions.I have my entire collection of photos since 1980, around 2 TB that are on my HDD F:\.My catalogue get corrupted and show a count of 0 photos in  nearly all folders are imported.Catalogue, crashes, get repaired but still shows 0 photos.I've restarted new catalogue importing 10-20 folders. It takes me ages...Lets say that each time when i arrive aroud 80 000 photos in the catalogues it gets corrupted than shows 0 photo.If i remove some folders with photo and add them back, they are added again.After a corruption, catlogue shrinks from 80000+ to 9000 photos.Sometimes i crashed around 80000 sometimes 120 000.

PREVIOUS button I'm doing edits in Develop module.  When going onto the next image, I can't see the 'PREVIOUS' button, to apply last image's edits.  I only see SYNC and RESET buttons in that position. Is this anything to do with how/where images have been imported from (e.g. 'PREVIOUS' won't work with tethered capture vs imported TIFFs)? Thanks   

If I open an original (Fuji) RAF file, or an converted DNG file, de CR and the LR too croppin about 130 pixels from every side. The SOOC jpeg files no have cropped pixels! When I open same file with an other RAW editing softver (One1 Photo RAW or Capture One) no problem.This is the converted DNG file opened in Capture OneThis is same file opened in LR CC Classic 8.0Please help me somebody!Regards, Sandor

Bonjour,J'apprécie Lightroom Classic pour le tri et noter mes photos, j'apprécie Lightroom Cloud pour voir et partager mes belles photos mais je ne comprends toujours pas pourquoi, en 2024, il existe ces limitations au niveau de la synchronisation, et notamment : - une vidéo chargée sur LrC, rangée dans une collection désignée comme syncrhonisée avec Lightroom "Cloud" ne sera pas synchronisée sur le cloud, pourquoi ? quelles sont les raisons qui empêchent de faire cela aujourd'hui ?- même interrogation existentielle sur le fait qu'il ne soit pas possible de synchroniser une collection dynamique sur Lightroom "Cloud" ? Pourquoi donc ? Merci pour vos éventuelles idées, lumières, ou contribution sur cela, et excellente journée !Frédéric 

j'ai un pc sous windows 11 pour le développement en local avec lightroom classic 13.2 je désactive la carte réseau, après avoir fais cela j'ai remarqué que le menu importation de lightroom classic a disparu plus moyen d'importer.   [moved from bugs to discussions according to the community rules - Mod.]

When I import images in Lightroom they are greyed out.If i go into develop and pick a greyed out image it shows on the screen and i can work on it.When it returns to the library it is again grayed out.This has only happen very recently .The rest of the catalog is fine and all correct.Have tried importing  nef DNG and jpeg files all to the same result .Cant see any way of actually get information from abobe so any help would be appreciated.

Currently my Lightroom Classic catalog includes two folders for every roll of film which I have digitized.One folder has the RAW versions of camera-scans of my negatives. Those RAWs have been edited including NLP conversions, titles, captions, keywords, etc.The second folder consists of positive JPEGs created from the first folder. I would like to remove the first set of folders from Lightroom to conserve space on my computer’s hard drive, but first I want to archive the RAW files to external storage in case I decide to re-edit them later. If I save the RAW files, only, then I will loose the considerable amount of labor I spent on the edits and metadata. What is the best method to save my RAW files along with my edits/metadata so they can be reimported back into Lightroom later, if needed?

I've used lightroom classic for years and it's always seemed to work well.  But today I opened the app with my one and only catalog.  I noticed two problems:   Blue tint to all photos in the library module (but not on the develop module).  I have a multi monitor setup so I tried swtiching windows and they both show *only* lightroom having this blue tint. It's epicly slow.  The program just crawls.   I have a fairly nice computer: 11th Gen i9-11900K (I think this was the top processor 3 years ago) 64 gigs ram RTX3070   It appears to only be Lightroom Classic that is happening to.  I optiumized the catalog, reinstalled,  and restarted my computer.  I've gone through the previous "slow" posts but nothing seems to include this weird blue tint.  I uploaded a screenshot of the blue tint. I'm trying to rebuild 10 years of world traveling photos after I lost my last catalog and if I can't bring myself to start over again.

Working On a Mac using Sonoma in LR Classic, the add or subject feature in masking no longer adds or subtracts from the mask using "Select Subject". The masked area is highlighed in red, but when you go to subtract some of the excess subject, nothing happens using the brush tool. I am using the latest version of LR Classic. 

When I try to import by selecting the Apple Photo library I have the following message: The selection is not an iPhoto library (the drive import plugin requires version 9.5.1 or later). I have the latest version of LrC.

Apologies if you have just seen this before - new to the community posting process. The albums in LR Mobile do not match the collections in LR Classic. I can see most but not all Collections as Albums, and their content is correct. If I create a new synced collection in Classic, I don't see it in Mobile. I have cleared the cache in Classic and resynced all images. That has made no difference.

Since LrC 9.3 (Mac) the 'Library' module displays the JPG and RAW files next to each other. - I only want to see the RAW files. The box 'Treat JPEG files next to raw files as separate photos' in the Preferences is unticked. However, LrC does treat them as separate photos by displaying both and also counting them both, doubling the number of photos in my folders. I am not sure if this is messed up when importing. - My 'historic' folders still only display the RAW files although the JPG files are in there when checking on Finder.Any ideas to resolve this issue are highly appreciated.
