Lightroom Classic

I rarely use the Book Module but this has bothered me for years. If an image is zoomed to anything less than filling the cell (e.g. 'to fit'), the border drawn will conform to the original cell and thus have unequal vertical & lateral margins. In my mind, the most useful, rational implentation would have borders that follow the actual zoomed image dimensions (plus padding, of course).   That, or simply rename the option, 'Cell Border' 😉   Btw, thank you for finally adding the option to align images within their cells in the latest update (v12.4)   MacBookPro 16" 2021 M1 macOS Ventura 13.4 Adobe LR Classic 12.4

El módulo libro solo admite unos pocos tamaños y formatos de hojas. Parece que esté condicionado a los tamaños y formatos de la empresa Blurb incluso para libros en PDF o JPEG. Esto no corresponde con la conveniencia de los clientes y usuarios de LRC. En mi caso, yo quiero elaborar mis propios libros con impresiones propias. Teniendo en cuenta los estándares de papeles del mercado, es incomprensible que entre los formatos previstos no esté ISO A4 tanto el vertical como el apaisado. Me incomoda mucho tener que acudir a otros programas para elaborar mis libros con hojas ISO A4. Ruego que introduzcan la mejora de permitir elegir los tamaños de las hojas en los ajustes del libro para PDF y JPEG. Esta mejora ampliaría mucho la utilidad de LRC para los fotógrafos que confeccionamos nuestros propios libros.

Smart Selection is very good, but I still struggle to get a good selection on things like that: patterns. I photographed this through a fence type of thing and it is not really possible to easily select it through color nor luminance, so I keep having to manually select those. Would be nice to have something like repeat pattern of selection or maybe Smart Select Pattern. Well, I am sure I should be able to find an YouTube video on how to do it, but I really couldn't.

It would be really great to be able to have an option in Lightroom to get rid of the hierarchy and merge all the parent and child keywords in one list with no more hierarchy.   Doing this manually would take months for me as I started with hierarchy, but I don't use it anymore because for me it was a big waste of time. I would like to have all the keywords in the same level, no more parents and child keywords   I have now hundreds if not thousands of keywords duplicated inside and outside parents. This makes it all so cumbersome. I cannot remove them as when it finds them in two places it does not let you move them and merge them what would be logical.    The best option would be: Option 1: Merge all the duplicated keywords parent and child keywords Option 2: Disable all hierarchy and make that all the keywords in images don't have any hierarchy any more.   This would be so useful.   I really hope that I will see this one day   Until that day my mess

Case Number ADB-29724152-F6V7I would like the ability to DUPLICATE folders in Lightroom Classic OR import a folder hierarchy.I use a set of nested folders for my workflow, a total of 9 folders per job. Having to re-create this folder set constantly is such a waste of time and absolutely frustrating. I would love to have the option of a master folder that can be easily duplicated inside lightroom... or imported from a set of folders I have on my computer.

Everytime I open Lightroom Classic I create a new catalog for my project and I procces 1000's of pictures daily from multiple photographers. This means that there could be pictures in my catalog form multiple camera's made the same day. Therefor I never set the sorting order of my grid to "Capture Date" but I change this to "File name" to make sure I do not see a mixture of picture from different photographers in the overview (grid).    I would be very handy to have this setting remembered by Lightroom for the next time I make a new Catalog. Could you please fix it so that the setting stays the same as last set by user?   For your information. I have 3 photographers and 3 photp editors in my company and they all would very much lik this feature ;-). A lot of stupid mistakes are made because this does not work the way we expect.

When you create a graphic watermark, an lrtemplate is created for that watermark. Inside the lrtemplate there is an imagePathe parameter with a link to where the graphic file is.   When you move yor watermarks to another folder or disk, the imagePath should be automatically updated, to link to the new place the watermark is.

As photographers and creatives team up more and more, I would love to be able to share catalogs virtually similar to how Google docs/sheets work.   I have a team of photographers who share the editing workload in LRc and having to create smart previews and send back and forth catalogs is just another added task to our long list of to-dos as business owners.   If there were an online way (preferably password protected and between Mac and PC's alike) to access a catalog and continue editing it without needing the RAW files, and saving/sending things, but just being able to sign on and its there - that would be amazing!

The updated Auto Develop introduced in 2017 is a big improvement on the previous Auto results; except for one thing. To my eye it consistently oversaturates images. Would it be possible to set, in Preferences, what the Auto button does and does not adjust? Then I could de-select Vibrance and Saturation. Currently I use a pre-set to return Vibrance and Saturation to neutral but not touching them in the first place would be preferable. I believe there are regional variations around the world for how saturated people like their colours to be. Maybe you can guess where I live?

Hello!  I've been loving the adobe presets that have been intigrated into the program the last couple of updates.  At this point I have a few favorites and I would love the ability to be able to organize them.     Thank you.  

Hi,   I work a lot in lightroom, and often look to reproduce filmic vibes to my photos. When adding grain to a photo, it renders across the whole image and this is unrealstic. We would see less or no grain found in the highlights compared to the shadows. I would love to be able to add grain through a luminosity mask, where I could control the amount and make more realistic eidts.   

Would it be easier to do a final keyword review of a set of images if you could create a floating panel with adjustable transparency and adjustable content?     Imagine this: Full screen image second panel. Panel with adjustable transparency except the keywords. Panel would show existing keywords at top in a box.  Panel would have a lower section that could be populated with as many keywords as you like (similar to the current panels with 9) which when clicked would add keywords to list.  Why unlimited?  Well in the case of the vacation I just did reducing 5200 images to about 800, there is a variety, or at least more than 9 possible keywords.  Space shouldn't be an issue on second monitor.     The current method of hunting for the keywords in a list or a panel of 9 is limiting and time consuming.  Using the spray can helps but you are never sure you got them all without reviewing them.  This would allow really quick review rather than

Wouldn't your workflow be easier if you came home from a three week vacation and could just enter the start and end date and have a smart collection created for each date by catpure date?     I have 5,200 photos of Portugal from 4 photographers and 6 cameras in front of me.  To begin to get a grasp of the story I want to tell I make a smart collection by date, 23 of them.  Workflow would be so much easier if I could pick a start and end date and have these made automatically.     Thank you.  

Just about every photographer using a camera and Lightroom would understand what is meant by "portrait or landscape" to define a photograph's orientation - (long edge horizontal for Landscape and vertical for portrait.) Most photographers also know that "aspect ratio" refers to the ratio of one edge length to the other. 3:2 or 7:5 etc. So, why on earth do Adobe "smart collection" have a filter called "Aspect Ratio" which then lists "Portrait, Landscape or Square" as the three available options? So two orientations and a 1:1 aspect ratio are sort of mixed up.  Why do Adobe misuse "aspect ratio" for filters for smart collection to mean orientation? And no consistency, in the Crop in the Develop model they offer "Aspect Ratio" correctly to be, well, aspect ratio and not orientation. Mad? Or is there a reason? Why not use industry standard nomenclature?  Could we ask Adobe to call orientation, well, orientation?

A few years ago I posted this request and was wondering if Adobe has looked into it. Competitors keep adding and improving Noise Reduction AI. It sure would make a big difference to not require 3rd party software. Wouldn't keywording of locations be easier if upon import, there was a choice to automatically apply GPS fields for City, State, Country as a keyword.  If the item didn't exsit it could be automatically created starting with the Country, and then embedding state and city.   This would save a lot of time especially the state and city.  It's usually easy to add the country upon import, but not if you visited alot of them so even that is helpful.   This would save a lot of time in Keyword creation and application.   While I understand that I can find images with the Map Module, this has a bit different functionality when using the filtering approach in that if I want to have the images in grid view for a variety of reasons it is easier to manage with filtering.   Thanks, Michael

I have my Lightroom catalog configured to write metadata (including keywords) to XMP files.  Some keywords are used on thousands of files.  It's very easy to accidentally drag a keyword to a new parent in the keyword hierachy list.  When that happens, the system goes crazy applying the update to every file that uses that keyword.  As soon as the keyword lands under the new parent keyword, my CPU utilization goes through the roof.  When I hear the fan going full speed, I realize that I accidentally moved another keyword.   There is no way to abort this operation, the updates are proceed regardless of how long it takes.  Even if you quickly move the keyword back to it's proper location in the hierarchy it can take hours for Lightroom to complete all of the unwanted updates to XMP files.  If  you try to close Lightroom it doesn't help because Lightroom just resumes the update process the next time you start it up.  In addition to the

I love face detection. However, it is common for my subjects to be in a crowd, such as and athlete in a sporting event. Face detection identifies many faces in the image which I have to reject/delete. When I crop the image, the face tag remains active even though it is not in the viewable range of the final image. I would like to have an option that, when activated, LR will ignore and delete the face tags that are outside the range of the crop. This would save me a boat load of time spent rejecting the large number of unwanted face to tag.   [Moved from non-technical Forum Lounge to specific Program forum... Currently it is possible to toggle on/off the mask overlay with the shortcut O.Unfortunately it is not possible to toggle on/off the adjustments for a mask with a simple shortcut.Therefore I propose to add a shortcut to toggle on/off adjustments on current mask.

Dear Adobe, Can you please give the option to turn off pop-up notifications that appear over the image you are editing in lightroom classic in future realeases, or adjust the pop-up to not appear over the image you are editing. When a pop-up appears when hitting undo or redo for example, it takes you out of the editing process because you can no longer see your entire image, the image now has text covering a portion of it at the bottom. Although the notifciation text fades in and out, it is still incredibly destracting and frustrating. Thank you for your concideration of my suggestion..    

Since I'm using my iPhone more and more for photos, I am using a lot of different camera apps. It would be extremely helpful if LR Classic could show in the metadata which app was used to take a photo. That information is in the iOS Photos app but it does not import to LR Classic.

Adobe Lightroom counts as occurences of a keyword face detected, detected faces outside the final cropped image. I wish ther was an option to excvlude detected faces from outside the crop set in the develop module. If I go to my keywork people list for some rugby team, and I see "Eli Jones" as 48 instances, when I click the arrow beside 48 it brings up all the images that the detected face appears in. But annoyingly many of those images dont show the face of "Eli Jones" because that players is in the background somewhere and has been cropped out of the final image. I would like to be able to set lightroom to count only instances of a detected face withing the final crops. That way one could use it to find processed and cropped photos that actually have that face in the developed image. It is currently very frustrating to find images that someone actually apears in whilst instances external to the copped image are counted the same as those within the crop.

Problem: I have a large-ish library with a complex collections structure. I miss a quick and efficient workflow to keep track (and act) on the collections that a photo or group of photos belong to.   Current solution: A right click on a photo and "Go To Collection" will show which collections it belongs to. However, this is neither fast, nor user friendly when the goal is to check the collections a photo belongs to. Also, it only works image-by-image. And it requires muti-step mouse movements, which is time-consuming, and interupts a keyboard-only workflow, etc. Once in the menu, there is also no quick way to change the collections the photo belongs to.    Idea / Proposed Solution: Add a panel to the right side of the "Library" context, called e.g. "Collecting (in reference to the "Keywording" panel). This panel should resemble the Keywording panel and work in a similar manner. It should contain: A list of collections that the selected photo or photos bel

I will often click on a gray card with the White Balance Selector to white balance an image. However, if I click on that same gray card multiple times I will get a slightly different result each time, as if it's giving me a reading on a single pixel on the gray card rather than an area. As a parallel in Photoshop, it's like using the "1x1 average" with the eye dropper. Perhaps it might be nice to give the option of a 3x3 or 5x5 average, or perhaps you could drag the eyedropper over a gray card and it would sample several times over that area. I figured that an averaged white balance would give a better result rather than a single pixel's white balance. -Bruce!
