Greetings,When Flash Media Gateway on Linux will be available?
We have a problem on our platform and its driving us nuts... no seriously... NUTS. We have triple checked every possible component from a hardware level up to a software configuration level. The problem : Our platform consists of 2 origin servers with 6 edges talking to them (really beefy hardware). Once we inject a live stream into our two origins... we can successfully get the stream out via the edges and stream it successfully via our player. Once we hit around 2200 concurrent connections, the FMIS servers drops all the connections busy with streams. From the logs the only thing we can see is the following - Tons of disconnects with the Status code 103's which according to the online documentation means Client disconnected due to server shutdown (or application unloaded). We simulated the scenario with the FMS load simulator utility... and we start seeing errors + all connections dropped around the 2200 mark. The machines are Dell blades with dual CPU Xeo
I have configured FMS 4.0 to do RTMPS on port 443. To test it, I created a self-signed certificate and then imported the certificate as an authority in my browser (Firefox). I don't want to go and get a real certificate until I can verify that FMS is able to do what I want it to.I included the path to the certificate and the private key in Adaptor.xml in <install dir>/conf/_defaultRoot_/That's the only file I have modified. My ActionScript looks something like this:var nc:NetConnection = new NetConnection();nc.addEventListener(NetStatusEvent.NET_STATUS, onNetStatus);nc.proxyType = "best";nc.connect("rtmps://blah");In the NET_STATUS handler I always get the following error: NetConnection.Connect.CertificateUntrustedSigner.I don't understand why I am getting this error as I have installed the certificate as an authority in my browser.Any thoughts? Thanks
Our client is migrating from WMS to FMS and using local CDN ( cisco cds-is ) and also international ( Akamai ). We are running 15 live encoders pushing to primary and secondary server. There are 15 encoders powered by Windows OS and running Osprey Capture Card. FMLE detect the card without any problem. To send the video, we use Adobe FMLE 3.2 software encoder and Main Concept AAC plugin and Wirecast 4 ProWe running 2 FMSS 4.5 server acting and Primary and Backup. The video feed then being pulled by local CDN provider but fo the international, we have to push ( Akamai ). If FMS 4.5 have the ability to push the stream to Akamai, this will help us dramatically. Since FMLE 3.2 only limit 2 publishing server, we have to consider Telestream Wirecast 4 ProThe video player for RTMP is Strobe and OSMF. For HTML5 ( iOS ), we choose Video.JS. You can see the sample code at ( http://control.stream.my/ios ). The code will automatically switch to video.js when open with SAFARI and fallback to Strobe.
I have a broadcasting project that I've got where the host of the show can have multiple sound effects they can use on their show. I'm wondering if the only way to go about this is for all the clients listening to the show need to download the mp3 of that sound effect or if the sound effect could come from the host ...like combining his mic (for his voice) but also straight audio (the sound effect) into the stream.
I have a web app that connects two computers and streams video to each other like a video conference. It currently works and also records the video in .f4v format. I am trying to figure out what I need to do to enable the client pc's to stream in H.264. Is it true that I have to use some type of encoder (like Live Encoder) to use H.264? If so, does Live Encoder have to be installed on the client computers? If that is true, is there a way to install the live encoder through our web app, configure it, and close it down when the conference is over, with no interaction from the client? Is there some type of plug-in that we could use that would eliminate the need for installing live encoder on the client computers?I am using Flash Media Server 3.5.
hello! What is the way to destroy/close netstream that was created on the fms server (4.0) and was republishing user's netstream to a netgropup (by netconnection through rtmfp)? It seams that when user stops publishing his stream and goes away, the netstream that fms was republishing to the netgroup is still active, that is way all new members of the netgroup receive PublishNotify event of the stream that is empty.
Hello,I'm using the allowedSWFdomains.txt file to protect my rtmp link, can i add another protection option by Referrer site for instance, coz allowedSWFdomains.txt file isn't enought to protect my rtmp link from being used with other flash players ...Regards,
Hi, Everybody!Having some sites on flash (SWFs, not necessarily with video content), is it possible to convert them on the fly by FMS into streams compatible to iOS's Safari? I didn't find any info about this in the documentation. The idea is to show video-"presentation" instead of actual site, when the site is shown to a client without Flash support. Also, is it ok to install Wallaby on the same Windows server where FMS was installed? I just want to make sure these two product do not interfere somehow. We are going to check all possibilities for sites converion to Apple platform. Thanks in advance.
I would like to confirm this is not available yet, will it in the future?
Hello,I am flex ,AIR and MS.Net developer.I know java , c , c++ .I am very much interesting to learn FMS.Is any one give me start up learning FMS material link which is easy in understanding for beginner and start up prerequisist. Thanks in advanced.Mohit M. Chavda
Hi,We are working with FMS 4 server for a while for a 2 directions video application, and it works great with rtmp.We now want to use its rtmfp abilities after we used Cirrus for testing in the last few days and it also worked well.Locally - everything is working fine, but when we try the application on the remote server - we have some problems. Each side get the NetStatusEvent code "NetConnection.Connect.Success" and "NetStream.Publish.Start" when publish starts. However, when we are trying to play the stream, nothing happens. (Locally, we are getting "NetStream.Play.Start" and "NetStream.Play.Reset" - remotely: nothing).I did open ports 1024-65535 UDP on the server and since we are able to connect Cirrus, I believe the clients are fine.I also changed the Adaptor.xml HostPort element to<HostPort public="xxx.xxx.xxx.xxx:19350-65535">:19350-65535</HostPort> where xxx.xxx.xxx.xxx is the same public IP of our FMS Server as the one used by the client.Again, it is working beautifu
so i was getting people embedding my player to there site and stealing my thunder.. so i changed allow all to my domain and well i cant connected with fme how to correct this thanks
Hi all,I have to stream, with rtmp, some .wmv and .asf files.Flash media server doesn't work with this kind of files, correct me if I'm wrong, but it only works with .mp4 and .flv files. How can i do to convert these files? What tool can i use? Thanks in advance.
I was previously using FMS 3.5 to record from flash media live encoder using the DVR app. This worked well as I was able to seek into a live stream, all of it not just a window, and I was using RTMP for playback (not HTTP).Now I would like to upgrade to 4.5, and keep using RTMP for DVR BUT add support for iOS. So my question is, is this possible? I've looked over the documentation many times and cannot figure it out. I see livepackager and that appears to support HLS but it also requires using adobe dynamic http streaming and it says nothing about true DVR (yes actually recording it).So is the dvr app now obsolete, and if not how can I add iPhone support to it? I already have a custom player and really hope I don't need to rewrite it to use adobe http dynamic streaming just for this.best,Tuviah
I had Flash Media Server running fine. I didn't make any changes, but suddenly, RTMP requests are not being serviced. I've restarted the FMS service. I've updated from 3.5.1 to 3.5.2, which required a restart of the server. Nothing.A week ago all of the vod applications were running fine. I don't know when things stopped working. Any ideas on troubleshooting this problem would be most appreciated.
I have been working for hours, studying and trying to get this software to work with just a simple audio file. I am just trying to use it to stream a live audio signal to another PC in another site to feed into an FM transmitter. I am new to all this but cannot get the correct settings in the FMS URL . I don't know whether to enter my IP address of the PC that I am speaking into to stream or what it says or what . I have tried numerous settings but will not connect. Just what exactly do I put here so that another PC can access the audio file that is streamed ? I cannot figure it out. also, is there any other settings that I need to change to start streaming a signal to others ? I always get error Problem with primary server . thanks
I just install 2 FMS 4.5 server and HTTP streaming is not workingTried using OSMF with HDS-LIVE ...failedTried using SAFARI with HLS-LIVE failed toobut when tested on my trial server, everyting is working fine. The open ports are 1935 and 80Do I need to restart the server to make it works ?
I'm testing FMS 4.5 using the developer edition before upgrading our FMS 3.5 servers to 4.5 but for some reason creating new vhosts doesn't seem to work. I'm following the exact same steps I would take using v3.5 but 4.5 gives this error:Sep 29 03:34:24 eventstreaming Javascript[31564]: Connection rejected by server. Reason : [ Server.Reject ] : (_defaultRoot_, vhost1.somedomain.com) : Application (vod) is not defined. Here are the steps I've taken:Made a copy of folder _defaultVHost_/ named vhost1.somedomain.com/ ( inside conf/_defaultRoot_ )Made an exact copy of the default FMS4.5 applications/ folder at /home/vhost1/public_html/applicationsEdited vhost1.somedomain.com/vhost.xml and changed<AppsDir>${VHOST.APPSDIR}</AppsDir>TO<AppsDir>/home/vhost1/public_html/applications</AppsDir>Edited /home/vhost1/public_html/applications/vod/Application.xml and changed the path to the media

I have successfully configured FMS 4.5(on windows) to do the following:deliver progressive download videos at e:\fmsvids\localuser\fms-web\progressive\user-id\video.f4vdeliver rtmp/streaming videos at e:\fmsvids\localuser\fms-web\streams\user-id\video.f4vdeliver videos in both directories via HLS.I need to disable delivery of the full video file in e:\fmsvids\localuser\fms-web\streams\user-id\ (delivering via the m3u8 is fine). I have tried the following without success:add 'allow from 127.0.0.1' add deny all IUSR ntfs permissions (apache continues to serve the f4vs). What can be done to accompish my goals? I'd like to ensure the security of streaming videos and offer iOS compatibility (otherwise, why even have FMS?). Below are the location directives in my httpd.conf for your consideration.Thank you.----------------------------------------Alias /progressive "E:/fmsvids/localuser/fms-web/progressive"<location /progressive> HLSHttpStreamingEnabl
Over the past couple of years, I'd been told by numerous techs at 1&1 that they supported Streaming for FLVs, and I'd planned to make streaming videos a mainstay in my website. Now, as I went to implement that, I learned that this was a 'miscommunication' and that they do not actually support streaming, or no longer support it if they had in the past.So I'm trying to find out if there's a cost effective way to stream videos for my website or if I'm better off just using the regular progressive downloads. The site I'm building is based on the Gaia framework, and on several pages (between 5 and 10), a video will begin when the visitor arrives at that page. I'll also have an expanding number of videos that can be played by clicking on various buttons. Videos (including lots of 3d animation) will range from 30 seconds to roughly 10 minutes. Thanks for any information on this.
Is it possible for an Edge with a nice full cache to continue serving if the origin dies? Because during testing when we took the Origin down the Edge would not serve its cached content. Thanks.
