Hello all, In the current application I'm developing, I have a custom video console. While watching a video, certain points in the timeline will pop up a dialog box that gives the user the ability to switch to a related video. If the user clicks the button to view the related video, a 3D effect flips the current "main" console to a secondary "branching" console - much like the flip effect the iPhone uses. The videos are streaming from FMS 3, the client application was developed in Flex, and we are using Alex Uhlmann's Distortion Effects to achieve the 3D flip effect. When I first started developing the application, I ran in to the infamous "Security sandbox violation: BitmapData.draw" error whenever I would try the flip. After some investigation on the web, I found that I needed to set the Client.videoSampleAccess property in my FMS application's main.asc to allow bitmap snapshot access. I did so, and that seemed to do the trick. After playing with the application a bit more, however
can flash media live encoder be used as a webservice that can be used from web browser. if yes then how . if no then can the feild be controlled from configuration file
Hi people, I´m testing Flash Media Server and Flash Media Encoder. I installed FME in my desktop and FMS in a server. When I start the encoder, the folowing message apears: "Thu Apr 02 2009 13:38:00 : Primary - Connected Thu Apr 02 2009 13:38:00 : Primary - Stream[mylivestream] Status: Success Thu Apr 02 2009 13:38:00 : Primary - Stream[mylivestream] Status: NetStream.Record.NoAccess Thu Apr 02 2009 13:38:00 : Session Started Thu Apr 02 2009 13:38:00 : Video Encoding Started Thu Apr 02 2009 13:38:00 : Audio Encoding Started" Why "NetStream.Record.NoAccess"? This message apears in the Flash Media Server Log: "Method not found (FCUnpublish)" "Method not found (releaseStream)" "Method not found (FCPublish)" Write Access Denied for stream mylivestream. Could help? Alexander alexander.dubrowsky@fgv.br
From a Flash-based client can you query FMS 3 server for recording status of stream? We are building an controller application for a custom webcast application and we would like to be able to tell if a server stream is currently being recorded or not. Can that be done?
Dear all: Sorry I am new to Flash Media Server. I have Flash Streaming Media Server 3.0.1 installed on our Windows Server 2003. I cannot access to the my video files from the server's web browser. And also from the client's PC. How can I do that. Any urgent help will be highly appreciated. With best regards, Mithun
Hi Guys and Girls, I have bought and managed to install FMS 3.0 on Centos5.2 All is standard using port 1935 I am using a camera and a View cast box that sends a live encoded stream all it needs is a url to point to: Sever address - rtmp://ip address/live/mystream Is that all? Is there a easy way to see if the server is working? Thanx in advance
Hi everyone, I need to call a method of a given Webservice which is described by the following code in the WSDL file : <s:element name="loadWorkspace"> <s:complexType> <s:sequence> <s:element minOccurs="1" maxOccurs="1" name="nServer" type="s:int"/> <s:element minOccurs="0" maxOccurs="1" name="sWorkspace" type="s:string"/> </s:sequence> </s:complexType> </s:element> When the WSDL is parsed, and when I call MyWS.LoadWorkspace(0,"MyWorkspace"), the second parameter is not caught in the trace. Here is the result : 3/30 17:0:29 [INFO] SOAP: Asynchronously invoking SOAPCall: LoadWorkspace(0,"plop") param:loadWorkspace1 0 param:LoadWorkspaceResult plop 3/30 17:0:29 [INFO] : Invoking call LoadWorkspace loadWorkspaceResponse :-1 Someone can help me to call this method with the two arguments ?
my remote server company installed the FMS (streaming Server) but there are multiple partitions Linux and where the FMS is installed is / (root) has not enough room to put in all the media. 1 can I configure the fms.ini file to direct the streaming media to one of the domains or IP's which would be in the root under /home/ where the various domains are located? this is the configuration right now. on demand and progressive: VOD_COMMON_DIR = /opt/adobe/fms/webroot/vod the live link doesn't apply since this is only the streaming server. on demand only VOD_DIR = /opt/adobe/fms/applications/vod/media SERVER PARTITIONS LAYOUT: Filesystem Size Used Avail Use% Mounted on /dev/sda5 7.8G 1.5G 6.0G 20% / (location of FMS) /dev/sda8 243G 25G 206G 11% /home /dev/sda6 996M 34M 911M 4% /tmp /dev/sda3 7.8G 3.7G 3.7G 50% /usr /dev/sda2 9.7G 844M 8.4G 9% /var /dev/sda1 122M 17M 100M 14% /boot or do all the partitions need to be reconfigured to allow space for the f4v & flv streaming (n
Hello guys, Is it possible to protect offline flash content with flash media server? My content is delivered to the client in a dvd, there is a way to protect it? there is a way to lock it to his computer? Thanks.
Sorry if this is a dumb question, as it probably is. I was under the impression that with 3.5, you can record H.264 live on the server, just as you currently can with FLV. Am I to understand this isn't the case, that I would have to pre-encode it on the client side, using FMLE, and then send the encoded data stream up to the server?
Hello: I have some long (1 hour or so) flvs recorded from a small flex app communicating with FMS 3.0.0. It is mostly audio. When replaying them from - a client Flash OR from (Method A) - FMS and then have a Flash client connect to the FMS Live stream (Method B) The stream just stops after a while (variable: could be after 2 minutes or 20 minutes). It is very reproduceable which makes me wonder how come others are not getting this as a google search does not show other complaining. I get an Unpublished and then Stop status on the Flash Player for the stream. Strange thing: If I play the stream direct from a player (Method A above), then the higher the BufferTime and the longer it takes to stop. With a buffer time of 5 seconds, it plays without stopping. I actually need to run it with Method B. Setting all kind of buffers on the server produces no noticeable results. Any idea? I can send you my simple test codes for Flash player, FMS and the flv if need be. Thank you
I am having problems trying to play an FLV with Flash Media Server 3. The FLV stops early with only a NetStream.Play.Stop. I do not believe this is a buffering issue where the end of the file is reached before the client plays the end of the file as I am playing the FLV as a lives tream on FMS and a client subscribes to the live stream. On the server the live stream is the one that sends a NetStream.Play.Stop message and the flex client no longer gets the FLV audio. Also the amount of time the FLV stops playing before the actual end of the file is random. Sometimes it only plays 1.5 minutes of a 30 min FLV, sometimes it plays 15 min, sometimes it plays all the way through. Starting the FLV at any point other than the beginning seems to make it slightly better, but it still has the same issue. Any ideas?
Hi Everybody, Im surprised by a topic in adobe FAQ that tells it is possible to record H.264 stream on server. and I have a question about the source of this stream. is it from user webcam. and is FlashPlayer support coding H.264 webcam inputs? and if it is I guess it should be announced below FlashPlayer Update.
I've read the Flash Media Server 3.5 developer's guide and have perused various parts of the 3.5 Server-Side language reference, and now I am confused as to what functionality is available to which server products. For example, the XMLSocket class says its available to the "Flash Media Server 2". The name of the streaming server product is "Flash Media Streaming Server" and the other server product is the "Flash Media Interactive Server". So does that mean XMLSocket is applicable to both? Elsewhere in the language reference, the Netstream.time is said to be available to the "Flash Media Interactive Server" and the "Flash Media Development Server". OK, the first one is pretty clear, but I don't see anywhere on the Adobe site for the "Flash Media Development Server". Is that the "Flash Media Streaming Server" that Adobe allows to be downloaded for development? If that's the case, then shouldn't Netstream.time also be available for the "Flash Media Streaming Server"? In any case, this
I have Flash Media Server 2 (licensed and actively serving) installed on a Windows Server 2003 platform, but I'd like to install the FMS 3.5 Development Server on the same box to test its features before I upgrade. Does anyone know if this is possible (when I tried, the only options I could see were "Upgrade" and "Remove FMS"). Thanks in advance. Bob Byrne Thompson Rivers University
Hello Is it possible to connect to a Adobe Flash Media Streaming Server by a java client? I need to be able to receive a streamed RTMP flash-video and implement the following functions: - PLAY - PAUSE - STOP - GO TO A SPECIFIC POSITION I need to implement this player on a non-top-level Swing JComponent in Java (because this is the restriction I have from sun's wonderland, where I want to implement this player)... How can I do that in Java? Are there any code examples available or do you know an API or other possibilities to do that? Thanks for you help. Kind regards, Peter
Hey all, I'm wondering if it's possible at all to make http or even arbitrary network requests from the server-side on FMS. Based on the documentation (which states that server-side ActionScript is just JavaScript 1.5 with a few extra classes), there's no way to do this, but I find that to be unbelievable. A $4,500 application that doesn't give me the power to make an HTTP request to my web server? There must be a way. Also, I'd like to make HTTPS requests if possible. If that means using an SSL socket and writing my own HTTP requests, or using some HTTPS-capable socket or request object, that's fine. Anybody know of a way to do this? Also, does the same-origin (same-domain) security policy still apply on the server side?
I am in the process of moving from as2 to as3...it would seem that they did something to the shared objects and my line so.onSync(nc); does not work anymore. Is there something like this in as3 or something new and different I can't get the objects to go to the server...the name shows but the array i am sending will not. Please and thank you.
Hi, Last Month I bought a license for FMS STREAM EDTN 3.0 and trying to install this on CentOS but now after some research it seems that FMS STREAM EDTN 3.0 will not run on CentOS only the FMS STREAM EDTN 3.5 does that mean I can only install $4000 version of FMS on my sever
Hello, I instaled FMS 3.5, developper edition on linux (Gentoo). I created a user and group "fms" to start the server. Server seems working. In fact, with admin cosole (the html page), i can see instances of application (subdirectories of "application" directory). But when i try to connect to the server with Flash pro (with the code at the bottom), connection fail (NetConnection.Connect.Failed). I created a directory "tt" as subdirectory of "application" with the owner fms:fms. Do you have an idea ? What others tests can i do ? Thanks. //####### - 1 - ########### //Retour vidéo de la webCam // fluxLocal = Camera.get(); //fluxLocal.setQuality(8192, 50); fluxLocal.setMode(240, 180, 15); fluxAudioLocal = Microphone.get(); ecranRetour.attachVideo(fluxLocal); var boutonLive = true; var etatLive = "live"; // //############# - 2 - ############## //Diffusion streamée de votre webcam // liaison = new NetConnection(); liaison.connect("rtmp:/nsXXXXXX.ovh.net/tt"); //Attention, un seul slash
Hi everyone, I looked around the help docs and other posts and wasn't able to come up with an answer for this. Let me preface my question with this - I'm a complete novice when it comes to doing anything with servers. So I apologize for my ignorance. Here's the scenario: I built an mp3 player using Flex that pulls in files via HTTP from an XML file. My boss then told me that the player will be housed on our Flash Media Server and that I've just become the resident guru for the system. No biggie... Except that I'm pretty much starting at square one with FMS (and using Linux servers). However, I did read that I can make HTTP calls via the Apache instance that installs along with FMS. But, it doesn't look like it got included in our install (I don't see the Apache 2.2 folder listed in the root FMS directory). So the question now is, what do I need to do to install Apache after the fact? Our server admin can do the legwork, I just need to figure out exactly what to ask him to do. T

Hello, what I want to do is play a video file (or rather a playlist consisting of several files) and stream them like they were a live video feed. Everywhere I look for info on the Live stream capabilities of FMS is camera this, camera that, live encoder blah blah. But I haven't seen anything close to what I need to do. Is this possible with FMS? Any help is appreciated.
Hello, I would like to know if it is possible to stream video files to the adobe flash media server. I have been able to setup the server and client, and been able to stream my webcam to the server, and from the server to clients. Is it possible to stream an AVI (or other video format) file directly to the server? (avi--->server--->client) ? Any help would be appreciated, thanks!
Hi, I have had a system written for me, what happens is every time a new customer is created, another instance of FMS.exe is started, and what is happening it is using a lot of the RAM - about 80-120Mb per customer - now this isnt people connected to this customer listening, its just the customers music ready to be listened to. Now, should there be a FMS.exe for each customer and should it use so much RAM? Hope I have explained this properly
