hello, I am using flash encoder2.5 to encode live stream.I want to save the same to flv. As i have to stream throught the day,is there any option to save the flv in different pieces.Means flv of duration of 10 min. Pls help me ragards

I finally managed to get everything setup and working so I though, then I realized that I only have about 5 seconde of the clip playing... is their some setting I missed that shtate them max length of a clip Thanks Craig

Hi: i am totally balnked about this how can i attached and stream video of a Ip-Based camera.We have cams which are connected to our network using thr ip address.now we are willing to access these cameras using Flash Media server application and stream thr video on our network so can be access and view able from LAN/WAN.please help me in this regard.thanks rao

We have just installed FMS 3 and are using VOD. I encode the video using the Flash Media Encoder. Everything works well except I am getting reports from users that the video just cuts off for not reason. It is a 7 minute video and I am getting reports of it cutting off at 1 minute or 2:45 nothing consistent. So my question is where can I look to see any error messages or anything that might indicate what is causing this. These are videos that are embedded in Adobe Captivate published training modules. I am trying to load a preview frame of my videos. Per the documentation I should be able to say something like ns.play(filename, 30, 0, true); This should play the first frame of the video 30 seconds in. This does not seem to work does any know how to fix this or why it is not working.

I make a empty folder named 'test' in the application folder then i deploy it in cosole. next I write actionscript in flex to connect to the server. but it always return 'connection failed' in the server log ,it displays 'Sun 06:46:55 PM: Core (3964) socket migration failed.' I use netstat -a ,the port 1111,1935 ,11110,19350 are open. With the number of posts with ZERO replies here, it seems pretty obvious that no one from Adobe ever comes to this forum. Which is something very wrong, considering it's such an expensive piece of software (my company payed $7500 for our FMIS 3 license). I don't see this problem with smaller companies, such as Wowza, where you feel the devs are actually reading and answering peoples questions. Seriously, it wouldn't take much effort for a company big as Adobe, to put a specialist to answer a few questions now and then.

Hi, I've made everythig exactly as the installation guide. but when I try to watch the video at the livetest.htm It doesn't work. The vodtest.htm works fine The encoder works fine, I can see the captured video and it connects to the FMS. The FMS recognize the Encoder input and the bytes counter increments I have both, the encoder and the server in Windows 2003 server standar edition. I've also tried connecting to a remote server and the same problem. Tks for any help.

Hi there, I'm very new to FMS. Basically, I got my FMS working in my 1st pc and can see my stream video from sample/live.html. However, I want to see my stream video in my 2nd pc locally. How to do it?? I've tried type in my 1st pc's IP address ( http://19X.XXX.X/) from 2nd pc but nothing shows up, just error page.... Please help.... Hello I am trying to get the Vod service working and have followed the documentation to a T but cannot get the page to stream or work. I am using IIS 6 and have copied the sample vod folder and renamed it modifed the fms.ini file and application.xml and put my .flv file in the media folder. When I go to run it from the browser and typing rtmp://localhost/vod2/campaign_manager_movie.flv I get page cannot be displayed. I have tried different ways like rtmp://localhost:1935/vod2/campaign_manager_movie.flv or using full machine name but nothing seems to work. If I go to the test Vod player Item and browse to the .flv file it plays fine. Am I missing something here? I have tried to stop and start the services (IIS, FMS) with no luck. I also tried to go into the admin console and add the service just in case but that didnt seem to help. I have checked the files to make sure I didnt make a typo so I dont think that is it. I can run the samples that that are provided and even add my own video in the vod/media forlder and play them but thats about it...everything else fails.. Jumping ahead. I have users uploading FLV to my site, how do I get these files into the FMS directory when they are on the webserver.. honestly, I dont even know if im making any sense here, I need some sleep

How could you create a time delay (say 30 seconds) on a live stream so that an administrator/editor could stop a broadcast if an event needed censoring? Flash Encoder publish the live stream into two urls, one is preview stream with minimize delay, another one is the delayed stream for public users. We don't want to delay it in client side. How can FlashEncoder/Server archieve it?

my sample is (suppose to be playing) at http://www.7thsign.ca/testVideo1.html if you click the link, you will gee a gawd awful orange and a white box where my video should be. in the uper corner of the white box. there is a black pixel or two but I have no clue what is generating them nothing plays and no movie loads but the flash media server administrator will register the hit and the bandwidth is consumed but no video displays.... anyone have any clue as to why this would happen I double checked the Application.xml and the ini file....everything is fine there.. Hello, I am in the process of setting up FMS3 (for the first time) and want to make streamed content available only through RTMPE, not through RTMP. What options do I have to do this? Any advice is welcome; thanks.

I need to setup the VOD service to look into a directory with the instance name in it for videos. For exmaple rtmp://server/vod/joe should look for videos in basedir/joe only. rtmp://server/vod/susan should look for videos in basedir/susan only. 1. Is there a way to enbed the instance name in the Application/StreamManager/VirtualDirectory statement of the Application XML file? 2. Is there a way to intercept the play command so I can programaticlly change the stream name?

hi, i am testing with media encoder . I want to deploy it in local network.So i changed my code like this net_nc = new NetConnection(); net_nc.connect("rtmp://192.168.1.30/live/"); Am using the built in live aplication. i deployed it in tomcat bundled server and i can't connect the player with media server in another commputer. But it works perfect in my system. I chenged the ip to 192.168.1.30:1935 but no effect it works in my machine but not workin in local network... please help me regards

I am looking to purchased FMS Interactive and I was looking at the system requirements - it says is supports Red Hat 4 and Windows 2003 Server. I assume this mean it is officially support on either the old Red Hat Linux 4 or Red Hat Enterprise 4 correct? Also, any opinions on running FMS on Linux vs Windows. - The server will only be for FMS and nothing else. I normally use Linux or OS X Server, but in this case since there server will be strictly for FMS I was wondering what might be better. Windows 2003 Server or Red Hat Enterprise 4?

I have a dynamic directory structure that changes each time a new movie is added. For each movie that is uploaded, a new folder is created. I have set my VOD structure to go up to a certain point, and then I wanted to be able to hit any subfolders underneath that main folder. I am also using Jeroen Wijering's Flvplayer to ultimately play the videos and the SWFobject javascript to call them up. The Flashvar sequence that I am using is similar to: s1.addVariable('file', 'rtmp://www.devserver.com/vod/english/20202'); s1.addVariable('id', 'mp4:20202.mov'); Can someone please tell me 1. Where should I put the application.xl and main.asc files? 2. How should I set up so that subfolders are part of the equation? Thank you so much in advance for your help, -Johnathan

Hi, I'm using FMS 3 for republishing Streams to second server. For each Stream is used one NetStream and for every NetStreams is used only one NetConnection. Problem is when Stream is suspended, then NetStream and Stream on second server are still active. Users connected to second server still see the Streams (last shoot) but larger problem is that NetStreams and Streams are still visible in FMS console on second server and I have no idea how destroy them without closing NetConnection.
