Whenever I lasso clips in the timeline , the timeline audio / video tracks always become smaller and sometimes disappear . Is this an Adobe or computer problem ? Thanks.

There is a feature in another NLE system that allows the in / out of a clip to be be moved backward / forward a few frames just by clicking on the first / last frame and tapping an arrow .to perform the function . Any such thing in Premiere pro CC ? Thanks.

I already know how to get the audio back in sync with the video ( move / slip into sync ) but in another NLE system there is a way to click on the audio and use a special arrow function to move it into sync etc. Is there a similar way to do this in Premiere pro CC ? Thanks.

Premier Pro CC 2017 has completely thrown me off guard .For instance , in Preferences > general I used to be able to find for exp: (a) Default set to frame size (b) Display out of sync indicators for unlinked clips , etc . . . . and now I cannot find anything in the 2017 Preferences > General window that used to be in the version before 2017 . Here is what I think I did wrong : (1 ) I created a new layout . (2) Went to editing > Reset to Saved layout So the windows are automatically resetting to the saved layout that I created , instead of resetting to the the factory default EDITING window.

As usual I have been experimenting with the window panels by switching to 1001 different layouts and now the panels are all over the place etc , and I can't get them back in order. I have tried windows > workplaces > editing > reset to saved layout but this is just making things worse. How do I rest the windows layout to the factory default window settings ? Thanks very much. Thanks Rick , but I want to add something here and I am not trying to start a " war of words " etc , etc. But I find that some of the Lynda.com " After effects " courses are way to advanced for the beginner. I have already tried many of their courses but the instructors teach as though they are teaching to people who already know AE. I am just a beginner !

Thanks guys for understanding what I am talking about , the majority is saying that this kind of editing cannot be done in AE but yet still , I just recently this instructional video : https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=hHIA1qMg_Hs&t=1092s At approx :18:00 mins into the video the instructor is doing the EXACT same thing that I was asking about and yet they are some who is saying that AE cannot do this kind of editing.

In poster Rol Tzoref demo clip there are two edit buttons ( insert / overwrite ) in a red circle and those are the two edit buttons that is missing from my timeline. Any idea how to get those same buttons in my timeline also ? Thanks.

Hello , I am very new to After effects . . just starting right now so I'll be asking quite a lot of what seem to everyone to be very simple questions , but to me there are very hard questions . So thanks in advance for your patience and assistance so here we go . . . . I have a clip in the monitor with the in \ out points selected but I cannot get it into the timeline . I have in the program monitor a cropped clip that was originally 1080 x 1024 , but however when I try to put a border around the new cropped clip Premiere Pro CC is putting the border around the " original settings " of the 1080 x 1024 clip instead of the new " cropped " clip. What is the situation here ? Thanks.

Hi Ann and Peru B. The problem has been solved , I did double click in the program monitor which allowed me to zoom out a little in which I was then able to see the clip with both borders. When I apply a border to a still photo in Premiere Pro CC only the vertical border is added / seen and not the horizontal border. Please keep in mind that I have also adjusted the height and width settings along with the width and height sliders .

How do I organize clips , sequences , etc in sequential order the project panel ? I have the sequences , clips , jpegs and everything else all scattered all over one another in the project panel but I would like to have them in order for exp : Sequences at the top followed by mov./ mpeg 4 etc , etc. sequentially.
