Photoshop Elements

My PC died. Thankfully the hard drive survived so I have copied my last back up, sadly made a month ago, thus have I lost the data I attached to the photos made since the last back up. My catalogs were recovered from the old hard drive OK and are safely installed. Edits to pictures in my folders have updated to the point of PC failure, I wondered if the data attached was in there somewhere or I have to re-enter?I'm running Elements 2020 on Windows 11 PC. Thanks Richard

Hi,I have been using Photoshop Elements 11 on a 2015 Macbook with OS 10 Yosemite (I didn't update the OS system because I was afraid this would slow it down). However I've now finally got an all new Macbook Pro with OS Big Sur.When I set up the new Mac with Migration Assistant it transferred the PSE 11 to the Applications folder in the new one. However I'm fully aware that I should also update the PSE to PSE 2021 and am quite happy to do this.My question is, what is the best way to do this? Should I delete the PSE 11, and do a clean install of PSE 2021? Or can I upgrade from within PSE 11? If I do a complete clean install, how do I guarantee that all my catalog etc will transfer into the new program?Many thanks for any orientation,BestNick Rider

My wife has Elements 10 on her laptop.  It was running incredibly slowly and crashing, as was the whole laptop.  We had a 1TB SSD installed but edited images still take ages to save.  The laptop itself is now super quick except with Elements! When she saves the file a padlock appears with "Edit In Progress" and it stays there for minutes!  We've tried closing the editor after editing each image but it doesn't help.  Also its very slow deleting even just 1 file from the catalogue. The laptop is a very good spec with plenty of Ram (8gb).

Hello,As you may see in the picture attached my images open not within Elements but anywhere on the screen.This never used to happen and I would like to know how to get the pictures opening within the working area of PS Elements. Can someone please help with this.Many thanks John

any ideas how to push thru the update? i installed elements 2020 from disk, and it keepstrying to update, but it gets stuck. 66% the 1st time, 70% the 2nd timed showing 4-6 minutes left for 45+ minutes. Are there any links to direct download the updates? the update page only has 'use the update tool under the help menu" 

I bought Photoshop two a few years ago. I am trying to reinstall it, and I am getting an error message "Install needs to be updated." and "The developer of this app needs to update it to work with this version of macOS. Contact the developer for more information."    What should I do?    Thanks,   Ofer

Some time ago I bought Adobe Photoshop elements 12, Ive since bought a new laptop, and photoshop has not transfered over. Hello looking for Elements that will work on a MacBook Pro with OS 10.13.6

I am trying to use the clone stame but when I try to select an are to use to paint with, I get the error message The object "backward Layer" is not currently available.  I have used this for decades and never had this error.  I can make it stop so I can't use the clone tool! Help please. 

I prefer to print in the photoshop editor rather than in the organizer. The colors are truer to what I see on the computer screen when printed in the editor. I change the paper and default settings to what I know will give me a good print and would like to SAVE those settings but don't see an option to do so. Can someone please tell me how to save those desirable high quality print settings in the editor. Every time I close out of the editor, it goes back to the default settings and I have to change and enter all my advanced choices repeatedly if I want to print again. Thanks for any help.

Hi.Elements offers the option to include a variety of graphics into one's work and I was wondering in how far these images are copyright protected?Can one use these graphics for commercial stuff or rather not? Thanks,T. 

I just installed the new photoshop elemenets and the clone stamp does not work at all. The previous "stamp" disapears with every click of the mouse.

I paid for Photoshop Elements (and Premiere Elements) for my old Macbook Pro.Is there a way to migrate the program to my new computer? (MacBook Air)Or uninstall/unregister it on the old computer and register it on the new one?I would pay to upgrade the version, but I'd really prefer not to buy a brand new copy.And by the way, they say they have "chat" support, but they don't say how to access it. Any idea?

I have been using LR 6.14 (and many versions before) but I want to switch to PSE 2022.  I don't want the monthly/annual subscription of LR. Can I convert my old LR catalog into PSE 2022 organizer?  I guess I could just reimport the photos but I don't want to lose my LR edits and tagging. Any ideas?

Hi Guys,  Can any one help me..  Every time I add a new layer it automatically comes up with an arrow pointing down. How can I stop this form happening permanantly?  

I use Photoshop Elements 11 fairly often. Today I've signed on and I can't adjust the size of a layer. I added an image as a layer, and it is too big. I want to reduce the size and keep the proportions. So I select the layer using the Move tool. The software allows me to move the entire image, but there are no resizing corners.  What happened, and how do I fix this?Thanks!Ginny

I have this Christmas photo card that I would like to convert to digital form. The problem is that the photo was printed on that canvas-y cardstock material that people like to use for their flat Christmas cards. I'm having trouble finding instructions on smoothing this texture out. Originally, the scan is a huge file -- 10,000 x 14,000 pixels. Would anyone like to share their ideas? (Sorry, I'm sure it would be helpful to show more of the photo, but I didn't want to include any faces since this is a public site.)
