Photoshop Elements

Using Adobe Photoshop Elements 2019, with 28,000 photos it took my Windows 10 Pro PC, with 16GB of memory, and an Intel I7 CPU, nearly 30 hours to work through the recognition process. When finished, I went through the photos manually and many photos had no names attached. The one that really surprised me was a passport photo of myself, with no name, even after I'd identified myself in over 500 other photos.

I have purchased the latest version (21) of PortraitPro Studio. Installation was easy. When opening Photoshop Element I got the message to give permission for the plugin to be installed in Photoshop. No problem at all, that also went well. PortraitPro was in the filter folder under the name Anthropics.When I wanted to use it in Photshop it was still gray. Somehow it hadn't gone well with the activation ofand I still had to activate that in PortraitPro's stand alone program, which also went well. I also had to do the same with the program Smart Photoshop editor, also a program from the makers of Portrait Pro. Only when opening Photshop Element, PortraitPro studio was no longer in the Anthropics folder. The other program is still there. The strange thing is that the plugin is in the application folder plugin of Photoshop Elements.I've made many tries, removed and reinstalled PortraitPro. But I can't get it back in the Anthropics folder in Photshop Elements. Is anyone familiar with this p

I recently bought a new Windows 10 Laptop - and I would like to use my Photoshop Elements 9 on it. Installation from the original Adobe DVDs didn't work; and on the Adobe Website I couldn't find a download link neither which to activate with my serial number. Do I really have to buy a new product?

I have been using Elements for over 10 years and love the organizer.  The last version I bought was 14 and it just seemed that everything was too slow so I abandoned it.  It would lag when scrolling around or loading the program in general.  I do have a 10 year old i5-2500 CPU and 16 GB of RAM so I am wondering if the CPU is the bottleneck or the hard drive.  I have about 500 GB of  25,000 photos stored on a regular HD but my OS is on an SSD.  Is the CPU the problem or is the hard drive?  Would having the catalog file stored on the SSD help, or would only having all of the photos stored the SSD help?  Or upgrading the CPU?  I do intend to purchase Elements 2021 if I can get this to speed up, as I have been trying the trial version.

I had Photoshop Elements that came preloaded on a Dell computer several years ago. I recently lost my house and all my possessions in a bushfire. I'm wondering if it is possible to download and reinstall Elements 13 on a new computer I have purchased. I no longer have the original key - it was destroyed along with the computer!

I just adding the image on the background but the image is too bright. How do I blend the image and blackground together smoothly.

I bought a new M1 Mac Mini, and have not been successful in transferring my Photoshop Elements 2019 program from my 2015 Macbook Pro.  I used Migration assistant to transfer all Applications (inlcuding PSE 2019); at first, it appeared that it was a successful transfer, and PSE opened.  But, Organizer did not function, from the start;   the editor did indeed open and appear to function normally.  I then attempted to "renew" my Topaz Labs add-in programs, and that operation aborted, due to "identity error".  Now, PSE 2019 doesn't even open, nor do any of it's components..     Prior to using Migration Assistant, I tried "renewing" my PSE 2019 program from the Adobe website, after identifying myself and my purchase.  After the download, it appeared to be ready to run, but it did not....    Anyone have a similar experience, or does anyone have any insight that might help me troubleshoot this??   Guy Hawkins

I am using PE 2021 on windows 10. Each time I go to save an image I am presented with a box that asks me if I want to backup this to the cloud. It always has an option for "not this time" or to go ahead and do it. this is annoying as each time I have to click on "not this time".  Is there a way to turn this off?

I just installed my Photoshop Elements 15 to a new computer, and some things I'm used to apparently got reset.The only unit of measure I use for image sizes is pixels. I can crop an image in pixels by typing "750 px" or whatever into the fields on the cropping tool. But when I then want to resize the image, the dropdown on the image size popup will not show me pixels as an option. Here's what it looks like: The current size is in pixels, but the new size cannot be specified in pixels.I went to Edit > Preferences > Units & Rulers to set pixels as the measurement default (that dropdown DOES offer pixels, but it made no difference.I seem to vaguely recall having this problem long ago, but for years I've been happily resizing in pixels, and I don't know what I did to fix it.Help?

I can't seem to get out of all caps in elements. Ive tried resetting the tools, I've tried shift ctrl H and shift ctrl Y which I've seen on other inquiries were supposed to work... I just can't figure this out.

What is the best setting. 

Good Day, In Photoshop Elemenets 13 when creating a Photo Book there is only one size option and when i want to print the pages is square.In Photoshop Elements 12 there are 2x size options to choose from 297x210mm & 300x300mmHow can i add these sizes to elements 13?

I used photoshop 6 and I turned on the disabled ( I don't remember the name) key. I've only one hand working now. I started using photoshop element 2020 but I don't see any disabled key anywhere. Can anybody help me please?

Hi all, Tried to install Photoshop Elements 2021, but once I have signed on, I only see the installation window - can't select anything, there is no button to continue. Any idea what the problem is? I have a Windows 10 PC. Thanks

Hello, I bought Photoshop Elemts 2021 and I got a serial number. During the complete Installation is never asked for the serial number. Where can I enter it?If I want to start the photo editor I'm asked to sign to adobe. But I can't enter my email adress, because it isn't possible to write  the @ sign in the email adress. What to do?I installed twice. First rom the CD, and I got the behaviour, I wrote above. I deinstalled all and installed from Download and I also get the Behaviour I wrote above.Please help me, I searched all the helpsites but found no solution and I didn't find a contact adress.

I just bought Photoshop Elements 15 and Premier Elements 15 as a package.  I downloaded both of them and installed them with no issues.When I try to launch Photoshop [Premier] Elements, I get an error message saying "Adobe Photoshop [Premier] Elements 15 has stopped working".  I have windows 10 (64bit) installed.Please help.  If this doesn't work in the next few days, I am going to return these products.Thank you.

I have been using Photoshop Elements for many years, and am currentlty using version 2020.  I have never created Catalogs in the past, which has resulted in me having nearly 35,000 photos in "My Catalog".  The recent 2020 "for Dummies" tutorial mentions using catalogs to reduce the volume of the current workspace, but doesn't say much more.  I find that the Adobe website doesn't address this function much either.  Can someone point me to a website with good guidance, or tell me how to accomplish this task (if, indeed, it is the best solution)?  I'm guessing that if I place groups of older photos into various catalogs, and then keep only a few thousand current photos in "My Catalog", performance will be quite faster/improved.  Can I just create a catalog, place certain photos in it, delete those photos from My Catalog, and then switch to the old catalog when I want access to those photos?

Hi, I need to enlarge and print some JPEG;s.  I have access to Elements 15 but I am far from expert. My question is,is there any advantage in doing this manually (ie expert mode) or would the resulting quality be just as good in guided mode.  If manual is superior I would appreciate any tips or links to online tutorials etc. Thanks

I have Elements 5 now operating with Windows 10 but when uploading new pictures some do not show in the Browser although they open normally from my pictures.Above is a screen shot illustrating the issue where pictures are from the same source & all Properties of each entry appear normal. These are all new uploads from a memory stick.I also haave the same issue with some older pictures in my catologue & I have tried reloading from a backup hard drive which sometimes works but subsequently fails.Would purchasing the latest 2020 version resolve the issue & if so how do I transfer my libary with tags etc. to the new version.Any guidance would be much appreciated.Terry

Env. is PSE 2020 on Windows. See subject. I have a catalog--not my primary catalog--with 215 or so images. The CAXMPFiles folder for this catalog has 7,369 XMP files. Each of these relatively tiny files has an overhead of wasted file space in addition to cost to backup, etc. Is this for real?!?! If not, why is Elements Organizer running amok here and how do I fix it? I have another similar catalog with 480 or so images and 402 XMP files in the CAXMPFiles folder. My primary catalog has 33k images or so and 38,285 XMP files in the CAXMPFiles folder. Edit to add: 7,200 or so of these were created in a several hour span yeterday morning. All I'd done was open the catalog, look around to see if it had an image I was remembering, and then close it.

I have PSE13 in which the catalog does not show thumbnails for the videos it contains, and therefore cannot be run from the catalog. Also I cannot import new videos into the catalog. I have also tried optimising, repairing and trashing the cache yet the problem remains. So I assume it’s a corrupt catalog. Premier Elements edit does work when the video is imported from file explorer.Next step was to back up and restore the catalog to and from an external hard drive. The problem remains.I then created a new test catalog to see if I could import videos into the this new test one which it does. Video is displayed and can be run from the test catalog. So it is not a program fault but a catalog fault which I cannot repair.I have a Win10 (x64) PCand my catalog contains 30000+ items and several hundred tags which means producing a complete new catalog is not an option.Help!

Hi,I'm trying to save a basic animated gif in photoshop elements 15, but when I click on save to web, the 'animate' option is greyed out so I can't select it and can only save static gifs. Does anyone know how I can make the animate option selectable?Thanks!

I've just upgraded from Elements 11 to Elements 2018. My catalogue imported perfectly showing all existing tags in alphabetical order as per my settings.  When I add new tags they do not integrate alphabetically within my existing tag lists but appear at the bottom of these tag lists, although when I have created more than one tag in a list these new tags do group themselves together alphabetically. How do I get all tags, existing and new, to fully integrate alphabetically?
