Photoshop Elements

In Adobe Elements Organizer 2020 for Windows is it possible to preserve tags (not keywords, but tags like "event" or "people") when importing a picture from one catalog to another? For example: I have two separate catalogs with tagged images in them.  Many of the tags are identical in each catalog but some are unique.  I want to import some of  the images from one catalog into the other. Is there a way to do this and preserve their tags when they come over?  Or do I have to start over and retag the images once I've moved them to the new catalog?

I have photos from older versions of Photoshop Elements saved on various external drives, currently using 2020 Mac version. I've also gone from Windows to Mac OS over the years. I want to organize all these saved photos, delete duplicates, etc., and in doing so, I've run across an Adobe backup file that has XML, as well as PNG and JPEG.  In this one file, I have over 2K XML files, and I have no idea what they once referred to. In another file, I have only XML files. Can I delete the XML as I go through these folders? Thanks for the help.

BobGAQuestion for pse 11 about offlineI have pse 11, in windows 10. I have a catalog with over 31,000 photos. A large portion of thumb nails have offline icons in the upper left corner. I have run reconnect numerous times and it comes back that they are all connected. The problem is the offline Icon is still on the photo thumb nail.If I select 1 photo with the icon and click on the location in the information panel, I can find the location of the photo and it will remove the offline icon. Also if I high light photos in the same date I can go to their location and it will remove the offline icon.Is there a faster way to do this because I have thousands of photos with the offline icon?

Recently upgraded to PSE 2021 and then to a new computer.  Prior to that I have upgraded versions and computers occationally.  Now, my catalog structure seems very disjointed. It appears that all my pictures and videos are available, but likely in multiple places.Please take a look at the attached structure that I copied from Folders view as a Tree, and provide some guidance on what is wrong and how to straigten it out.The gold boxes represent folders, the green pictures are pictures or videos as stated.Thanks.....Ron

I just wanted everyone to know what I have just been told by the Chat option on the Adobe site by Amit. He said that Photoshop Elements 10 will not install on Windows 10 as it is not compatible. I asked what the options were and he said Adobe Photoshop Elements 13. I aske if this was fully compatible and he said it was under testing at this time. I asked how long it would be before it was finished in testing and he said he had not been told.I am very disappointed that Adobe is so slow in getting their product tested. As I need to use this type of software I will now have to look at other application.I do hop no one else falls into this trap.

Hi my move tool will move items around but cannot make larger or smaller as the little boxes in corners/side to do this don't appear help please

Hi.  New here, hoping someone can help.  Last night I did a set of time-lapse images.  500 image, 10 second, same location, each with the same water spot.  PSE 2021 has a nice healing brush that removes the spot in one image in one click.  But I got 500 images that need same healing.  Is there any way to create a layer that applies the healing?  Something I could apply to the other 499 images.  Any advice is appreciated.

Hi Here's my problem. I reinstalled Photoshop Elements to a new computer and restored all my pictures on a location that has a different path than what was recorded in the Catalog database. Now all my pictures have to be reconnected. The "reconnect" function reconnect pictures folder by folder. I have more than 300 folders. Anyway I can make the catalog understand that everything that was under C:\Pictures is now under D:\PSE\Pictures? Thanks

I had adobe photoshop elements 8 loaded on my old computer that crashed.  I now have a different computer and want to know if I can use the software disc to load the program on my new (refurbished) computer that runs on windows 10.  That is, can I load it successfully 

Does anyone know, what this will do? Will it affect me using the program? Thank you for your insight. Using macbook pro, OS Mojave, Version 10.14.6

One of the nice features of PhotoElements was the possibility to upload into your iPhone PhotoElements Albums using iTunes: Using PhotoElements and iTunes, I have more than 30.000 images on my iPhone neatly catalogized in PhotoElements Albums, so I can find a certain image quite quickly amongst those 30k images.Today I installed PhotoElements 2020 and by coincidence, my iPhone 7+ was updated with iOS 14.1But now iTunes does not recognize anymore images in PhotoElements Albums: Has anyone else encountered this problem? Could it be a bug in PSE2021? What solutions/workaround are known?

I recently upgrade Adobe Elements 12 to AE 21 and I have .psd files on CDs that I am unable to access. Any ideas how to get the files into .jpeg.

Hi, Since I post here "Photoshop Elements Phto Editor 2021 (trial version) is closing", there is some developements. After having refresh my Windows system to get more free space on my internal SSD drive, I installed Photoshop Elements 2021 (trial version), and saw that the problem of the untimely closing of Photoshop Editor in Elements was gone. Then I began to reinstall some softwares, checking each time if the Editor always opened. And it was the case. But after the installation of Photoshop CC 2014, the Editor untimely close again! The free space is of 80 Go. I read here a post that a person wrote about this conflict, but it's on an Apple system (https://community.adobe.com/t5/photoshop-elements/photoshop-elements-in-conflict-with-photoshop/m-p/11126883?page=1#M56512). A solution was proposed, but I don't know if that was working and how to transpose that on a Windows system.  Is someone has an idea? Thanks!

The JPEG quality setting comes up as "3" every time I try to save a file.  I want to set a higher level, so I don't have to change it for every file I save, but cannot find a way to do that.  (PSE13 on a Mac)

The layer mask used to be a white square so I could see where I was brushing on the image. One day mine switched to a black box with a white circle and I can't see where I'm brushing. I tried uninstalling and reinstalling PSE and it didn't work. I am using PSE15. I attached an image of the thumbnail mask how it is now. 

I have had a Photoshop Elements 7.0 that I used to make a New Years collage every year. There was a template that allowed for the insertion of 15 or 18 images. Windows 10 has made my 7.0 inoperable, so I have opted to try the Photoshop Elements 2018. In this new version, there only seems to be one collage option with a maximum of 8 images? How do I make a collage with more than 8 images with this new software? Also, the new version seems to have white borders on the images, and I prefer my images to be borderless.I am on the 30 day trial of the Elements 2018, so if I have the wrong product, I guess I would have to uninstall this version, and try yet another?Outside of photo touch-ups and collages, I am not a prolific or proficient Photoshop user, so I really do not need something with lots of bells and whistles.Any help would be sincerely appreciated.Thanks, and Happy New Year!-Willy-

I have just installed Photoshop Element 2020 (Version 18) on my MacBook Air.  I have an Intel Iris Plus Graphics Card.  OS Version Catalina 10.15.6.I used the program for about 2 weeks.  Photoshop Elements Organizer will open.  Nothing else like Video Editor or Photo Editor will load.  It just shows: LOADING ADOBE PHOTOSHOP ELEMENTS EDITOR WORKSPACE and then goes back to Organizer. Does anyone know the fix?

Hi,got Elements 2021 as i had an old version i was happy with but thought an update would be good. I have some folders (the with the most photos unfortunately) that seem like to get imported, but then they are not showing up and the path does not show in the organizer.I reinstalled, i deleted the databse, i tried again, i checked for filters.... nada!Any help please?Markus ... read the forum and googled... nothing worked.

Has anyone had difficulties launching the Elements 2020 photo editor from the Organizer?  It works fine for the first 5 pictures or so, but after that, it just stops working.  If I re-launch Organizer, then it will try and launch Elements and fail.  I can't access the Photo Editor from the main Adobe Photoshop Elements 2020 main app either.  After that, it won't launch Elements at all.  I can still launch Premiere from Organizer, but I want the Elements photo editor.  Any suggestions?

Hello! I just purchased Adobe Photoshop Elements for my MacBook Pro 2018 and I cannot use the software. I am asked to login when I try to launch the Photo Editor, and after I type in my email and valid password, it redirects me back to the same login screen.  I've tried uninstalling and reinstalling the software with the same result. I even tried to install the trial version and I still have the same problem.

I have tried twice to create a backup of my photos catalog.  It goes all the way to the end and then I get this error message: "Error encountered while writing file(s). /Users/myname/Documents/Summer Computer.psd." What is Summer Computer?  When I look at the backup that was created, there is no .tly file.  

Using Photoshop Elements 2019 with all available updates, Windows 10 Pro with all available updates on a built box Core i7-9700 processor with 64 Gigs of RAM. Files I am attempting to process are Sony ARW (RAW) made with A7 III. When I process the images one at a time, manually, I choose Auto and that does well. However, when I attempt to process the same files using PSE's "Process multiple files", PSE puts out an unmodified image.  I always shoot RAW+JPG and the output PSE makes in batch processing is identical to the straight-out-of-camera JPG, not acceptable.

All images have been modified via default settings in ACR preferences. I subsequently also rotated some after opening them in ACR.  Then I clicked Done.XMP files instantly appear along side the raw files just now processed but only for the images I have rotated.Is there a way to force the creation of XMP files for all of them?I have attached a video of the process.The problem is this: The default settings chosen in ACR preferences are not being stored in an XMP file, even though that choice has been selected in ACR preferences.
