After Effects project corrupted (33::4 “missing data in file”) after crash & computer restart

Hey guys, After Effects (Beta) (Version 24.3.0)(Windows 11) crashed a couple of times while I was working. After restarting my computer and relaunching After Effects, I received a message that my preferences were invalid. The application created new preferences and moved the old ones into files with “-old” in the name.When I tried to open my main project file (.aep), I received the error:After Effects error: missing data in file (33::4) The last available Auto-Save is from June (not sure how that happened), and I was incredibly stupid and haven't backed up my hard drive in a few months. So I have lost some months of work unless I can recover the file somehow. I have already attempted opening the project in the latest stable release, as well as importing the corrupted project into a new project. I tried renaming the file to .zip to see if it was XML-based, but I couldn't extract it. Using a hex editor, I can still see effect names, asset references, and file paths, which

Quicktime alpha layer animation freeze frame / media pending on ARM deviceOpen for Voting

Hi, I have a few animations (30 fps) on a 25 fps sequence. They are AE exported files (Quicktime with alpha layer), but they won't play in Premiere. Not in the sequence, but also not in the source window. On my sequence I get a freeze frame of the underlying video (25 fps). In the source window, I get a Media Pending screen. The problem only occurs on my current system, with the specs as mentioned below (I have a ARM processor). When I open the samen project on another device, I don't have this problem. Steps to reproduce:    1. Have a 25 fps timeline    2. Place a 30 fps quicktime alpha layer animation Result: Freeze frame of underlying video on timeline, Media Pending in source window.Expected: Playback without issues. System info    Application: Premiere Pro (Beta) v25.6.0.68    OS: Windows v10.0.26100, RAM: 15,60 GB GB, CPUs (logical): 12

We're excited to introduce 16-bit PNG support in the latest Premiere Pro beta release (v25.6 build 64 or later), unlocking higher-fidelity workflows for HDR and professional color grading.   Why it matters: HDR-ready workflows now support 16Bit PNG source media. Avoid banding artifacts and preserve more color detail in post.   How to see this new feature in action: Update to the latest Premiere Pro beta: v25.6 build 64 or newer. Create a new project. Import a 16-bit PNG file and add it to a sequence. Open Lumetri Scopes — you'll notice a denser, more detailed pattern, showing the improved bit depth handling.    Let us know what you think!

"Ducking" doesn't work when Audio Track Keyframes is selectedOpen for Voting

There seems to be no way of auto-generating "ducking" audio track keyframes. I can create clip keyframes ok. Steps to reproduce:1. In Essentail Sound, assign "Dialogue" and "Music" to a couple of clips on tracks.2. Set the track containing the music to show Track Keyframes > Volume3. Click on "Select Clips with Tag: Music" to select the music clip(s)4. Beta masking: really?

I use masks a lot. Ai masks - great. What you've done to the rest of them - hard facepalmPreviously: I have an effect on a clip and I want to mask it. Generally I'm already in the effects panel, I click on the mask icon and adjust the mask. Yes adjusting each point is a pain in the bum, this could be improved. Beta 25.6.0:I mouse to the tools pallete,click and wait for the dropdown, select the rectangedraw the maskmouse back to the effects palletedrag the unasigned mask to the effectAdjust the mask whilst trying to see what effect its having through the "helpful" red mistSomeone is going to tell me I can assign a shortcut to it.  Can I get a shortcut to drag the unnasigned mask to effect? What If I have a lumetri effect open?  WIll I have to drag it past all that to the effect I want?  Or will I have to close all the effects before I can drag it to the one I want.  Putting the mask in an unasigned item is one of the clunkiest user interface cluges I'v

**REQUEST**. New Ai enhanced mask tracker

This new mask tracker is so fast it can be very difficult to stop it when tracking goes bad. I mentioned in the pivate beta that a "track in to out"  option would be great, and now having played with the tracker more, it almost seems necessary otherwise I would have to razor blade everything , which is not ideal...

Nonsense appearing in Metadata & Timecode Burn-in effect using AMEOpen for Voting

I just exported a 1+ hour sequence from PPro to AME, and upon checking it back, the timecode looks like this:"#{nbsp}07:01:28:06"The timecode displays perfectly within PPro. The screwed-up timecode (with the code for "non-breaking space", I believe) is the source clip's timecode. I also have the sequence timecode on another line in the Metadata & Timecode Burn-in effect, and that appears normally on screen in the AME export. I also exported a very similar sequence directly from PPro, and the timecode appears normally on that. It's an annoying bug, because the export took about 40 minutes, and I've already sent it to the client. PPro beta 25.6.0x64Windows 10

A significant performance drop happened on Build 67 (25.6.0 BETA).- Playing is choppy even with proxies.- Program monitor is randomly showing black for up to 10 seconds until it becomes responsive again.

Text-Based-Editing Doesn't work with multiple audio channelsOpen for Voting

I frequently record videos with more than one audio source. anywhere from 2 to 4 channels. I've found out if the microphone audio is not on the primary 1st track, it doesnt transcribe anything and says its silent.Essentially Text Based Editing Workspace only transcribes videos with 1 audio track. So i have to edit the clip and reencode it with only one layer of audioThere needs to be an option just like subtitles to select the track to encode

25.6.0 Beta BugsOpen for Voting

1. Clicking on markers on timeline no longer snaps to position. Now, I have to double click, open the marker dialogue box, then 'x' out for the playhead to snap to position. Waste of time and frustrating.  2. Additional video lines will no longer let me nudge forward or backward a frame with the arrow keys if there isn't a clip. Also super frustrating.

When grabbing the in or out of the clip on the timeline, the length changes by one frame and you lose the "hold" on the clip. unable to change length unless i double click the clip and change in and out point in nthe source monitor.

Beta Import imported the wrong folderOpen for Voting

Steps to reproduce:For today's fun and games, I created a new project, and the Import screen popped up.  I thought I had that bypassed, but I guess an update reset that preference. Anyway I thought, "Ok, I'll use that interface."  So I navigated to the folder with the footage I wanted to import, selected it all and clicked "Import." Now first of all I just wanted to import the footage into a bin. Instead I got a timeline full of footage, all jumbled in the wrong order, and since some of the footage was in different time bases and resolutions, I can't use the timeline. Annoying, but I can delete that, so that's not the real problem. The real problem is, it was footage from the wrong folder! The project fils is in Root>Client>2025>Edit.  The files I requested were in Root>Client>2025>Shoot>Footage.  The files I got were from in Root>Client. It appears the importer doesn't work if footage is in other folders. But why'd i

Masking Tool Rendering Issue

Hi there, I was finally able to figure out the way new masking tool works..... its incredible but somehow it wont render.... i use 8 Gb Graphic Card still it keeps crashing. It wont render more than 2 frames. I was just trying the tool on one small clip of just 10 seconds. Can someone help

Dynamic Link Manager

Why is the Dynmaic Link Manager not automtacially stopped when I try update my software? Instead we do a dance of scheduling it three or four times before I just give up. Yes, I could do a search in my Mac Utilities and open Activity Monitor and force quit it but why do I have to? If this needs to be closed, close it! Or find a work around so we don't have to!

New Sequence Dialogue Box Scaling

1. I'm using Adobe Premiere Pro 2024 Beta2. Windows 10 Enterprise Version 22H2.3. Opening a New Sequence or opening the Sequence Settings Dialogue Box.4. When I want to open a new sequence, the dialogue box that pops up doesn't scale to fit my system. When opening on my laptop screen, it is too large and it doesn't have the ability to manually drag the size around to fit. I have to move it to an external monitor with larger screen space to see the bottom of the dialogue box.  The Sequence Settings box has the same issue.
