Premiere Elements

Installed Elements 2018 a month ago. and every time I go to save a file it comes up with  File already exists do you want to replace it  Yes or No. previous Elements default was yes but now it defaults to No. This is very annoying. Is there a way to change this to default yes. Thanks.

I spent hours on a project. Saved it every time I exited. Now, I can't import it. I find it, click to open & I get a box:"File Import Failure""This type of file not supported, or require codec not installed" It had worked previously on the same project - opened & closed. What do I do to get back my many hours of work?!!!Neal

When I try to pan a photo to get the Ken Burns effect the preview works fine but when I click on Done I get the spinning beach ball, and I have to force quit. The computer is a new 27" iMac with 24GB of RAM. This first happened with version 15 (but not on my MacBook with 14). I downloaded a trial version of 18 and the same thing happens. Any ideas?

Hi, I am sorry but I really don't know what to do with this. I added another video track (the one which you can see in front) to my project. But they mixed up together with the track I already had there  - the second video track is visible where originally is the black surrounding around the first video. Check the picture. I have no idea what to do with it and I am quite lost. Could you please help me? I didn't do anything special and I haven't experienced this yet. How to split these two video tracks and have just black surrounding around as it was before?  Thanks!

Hi Prem El community. I am only new to the forum so apologies if I mess up !I use Prem Elements v10 on a Windows platform and really like it. Most of the issues I have are with me, not the software. I'm trying to find out if there are additional video effects available for Premiere Elements ? I have loaded the Contents DVD already and the effects there are great, but I'd like to explore more if there are any I can download or purchase. I'm happy to upgrade to newer versions, too, if that gets the result. Thanks for any suggestions !Stuart

After installing the new elements it worked fine with my video and images. But after returning to my task the video were jerky. The red vertical timeline would jerk back and forth very quickly. looking on the forum gave me no clue to fix the problem. So, I decided to uninstall it and reinstalled it. Well it seem to work and I was happy. So continued to develop my video by adding more video and images saving it along the way. After several days I returned to fine the saved video has the same jerking as it had before. So I uninstalled it and reinstalled it again but. It continues to have the video jerkiness. I am not sure what to do now. Playing the same video outside Premiere elements works fineAny help would be grateful.Thank you,Robert

New to this forum as I have just bought Premiere Elements 2018.Want to make DVD of movie with 9 scenes so that main menu will PLAY ALL and scene menu will play selected scene and at the end of that scene will return to either main menu or scene menu.So far have got scene markers and only one end marker at finish.  PLAY ALL works. If a scene is selected it starts playing correctly but at end of scene just goes on to end of movie.Put in stop markers at end of each scene: scene selection works OK but PLAY ALL finishes at end of first scene, that is first stop marker.Help will be much appreciatedMike

For some reason when I click on the Premier Elements shortcut it no longer opens.I tried going straight to the premier elements.exe program in the Adobe folder with the list of files still no.I tried open as administrator still no.I did a system restore to a date which I knew it was working - still doesn't open.Photoshop Elements 2018 opens OKI have a copy of Premiere Elements 15 that opens OK.any help greatly appreciatedBill

Hello,I had to reinstall Premier Elements on my new iMac when my CS3 wasn't working either and the Adobe tech said EVERYTHING Adobe had to be removed.Premier elements is running, but I am unable to reopen any previous .prel files.  It seems to process and load them, but then comes up with a blank screen like when there is no file loaded in PE.What to do?[Moderator note: Personal information removed. Adobe premiere elements 15  stops working on volume adjustment in timeline.It used to work normal. Seems that after a windows update premiere elements 15 is crashing on some specific actions. Anyone has a fix for this?Adobe told me to buy premiere elements 2018. I believe this is redicules since I have elements 15 for less than a year.Furthermore, premiere elements 2018 is showing similair issues on different actions.

I was just sent 9 clips of video shot by a professional videographer. The clips are on a thumb drive in the MP4 format. How can I get these clips into my Adobe Premiere Elements 11 editing program? Also, what is the best way to store them on my hard drive? I have a PC computer with Windows 10.

Adobe Premiere Elements 2018  is erroring out  at 98% when uploading to YouTube.  This always happens at the 98% mark.  Everything worked fine with the previous version, frustrated!!!!!

As it says above I have Adobe Premiere Elements 15. Everytime I try to drag an item from the Hollywood Looks tab under Effects it freezes up. My mouse works and I can go anywhere else on my computer including the internet, but not the program. Here's the background: I purchased Premiere Elements 15 over a year ago. I now have a lot of files in .MOV format that I created last year from mini DV tapes. A LOT OF THEM. I converted them using a camcorder and ran them through iMovie 10.1.8 to create the .MOV files.I'm working on a MacBook Pro (2011), 2 GHz Intel Core i7; 8 GB 1333 MHz DDR3. I'm on Sierra 10.12.6. (I'm hesitant to upgrade my OS on this MacBook Pro. The recent OS is not supposed to work with iMovie 10.1.8. The iMovie version I have is the only one that will work with my camcorder and convert my old movies.)I've got QuickTime 10.4 for Mac. And I've got 90-140 GB of free storage on the hard drive - depending on what I'm doing.So here's the problem: I can't import ANY .MOV files as a WHOLE file. It just does not happen. Hi there 🙂I have an issue with Premiere Elements 2018. Whenever I drag a Title into the timeline, PE2018 shows me the "colourful ball of Death" and then stops responding. I waited for a few hours but it won't recover.I tried reinstalling PE2018 and even reinstalling the entire computer, to see it that would solve it. Still the same.A  current generation MBP is not such an uncommon machine and "adding a Title" not such an uncommon task for a video editing software. If I had come across this problem during the test period, I would've just bought another product, but I have already spend 120€ on PE2018 and am unable to create even the simplest videos with it 😞I am also using it on a windows machine occasionally, but over there everything works fine. It only happens on my 2017 MacBook Pro 😞Is that a known bug? Is there a fix/workaround available for it? I need about 35 unique titles in a project, and even more in others.  A single title may be just one word, or may be two or three phrases placed around the frame.  Each title has different text, color, size, etc.  Is there a simpler way to put these into the timeline other than: 1.  Open Project Assets2.  Duplicate an existing title3.  Drag the title onto the timeline4.  Double-click on the title and begin editing itNot only does this really clutter the Project Assets collection, but it's a longer process that it seems it should be.  Any suggestions?  Thanks.

HI all - I'm on a trial of Premiere Elements on a macbookpro. When I select an animation for a motion title, scroll down and click Apply, my chosen animation does not appear.  No matter what I animation I choose, the same one appears - a fly in from left with some weird white lines above and below the title.  thanks!

Last month I was able to upload videos from my phone mp4 into adobe premiere 15 and create videos.  I tried other uploads from my camera and same results.  I receive the following error - 'the importer reported a generic error'.  I called support on the phone and they said they do not support it and they do not have the knowledge to answer or resolve this issue.   I was then told to contact support via chat.  Ok, did that today and they too cannot help, as the product is not longer supported.  I would need to search the forums.  I have searched for forums for hours and there is no resolution.  Chat support stated I need to open an issue within the forums.  Obviously that is what I am doing now.  But my question is, if it was never resolved in the first place, how can they resolve it now?  And, I keep receiving updates for this product, so how can it still be supported then.  I was thinking about upgrading but if support i

I just finished creating a 55 minute video, but I've been trying to work through a problem for hours before uploading to YouTube, and I still haven't figured it out. Basically, the video fills up the entire work monitor I see in premiere, but after exporting, there were giant black bars are the sides. I quickly found out that all I needed to do was change the resolution of my video to 1280 x 720. Now most of the video fills up the entire screen, except a lot of the still images I use in the video still have black bars. There is a lot of keyframing (like panning, zooming, etc.) done on these still images, so this aspect ratio change screws all of those animations up. The entire project is comprised of video clips and still images I downloaded off YouTube and Google. None of the images or footage is filmed from a camera or anything. When I was creating the project, I thought as long as the monitor box was filled completely (even extending the video past those little "safe line" things),

Just when I thought I was out of the woods I am stuck with another problem. Just as I was completing a project with a nice opening title that has eaten up probably 100 hours, I cannot get rid of the two white "frames" that appeared when I was editing the title. They are superimposed now on the ENTIRE 15 minute video. in the entire video. I've seen these frames overlaying title before but they disappeared after I saved my work. can someone tell me how to get rid of them?
