Hello Everyone. I am a little confused, would you please help me. I am adding an extra Hard Drive for Project files and Disk Cache. In one of our forums I was told If I am Editing 4K Videos, I was told it's best to have NVME 4.0.  I did look online, and It looks like NVME 4.0 is like a Memory card rather than an actual SSD Drive.If I use Samsung SSD Instead of NVME 4.0, is it going to be much slower?Thank you very much.

I see a lot of threads talking about processor and video cards but not one talking about Motherboards and chipsets. Has anyone found any research on the best Motherboards for video editing and after affects.The motherboard is the highway between the RAM, CPU, HDD and Video card. Keen to get professional opinions from those who have investigated what Intel i9 compatible motherboards have the best architecture for video editing.Specs of this PC will bei9 processor2 x M.2 SSD drives. Hi!2 days ago I ordered the Dell poweredge M820 cluster a very cool server and has 4x CPU E5-4607 6 cores and 12 TH my work and only productivity with 32GB of DDR3 1600Mhz RAM.This processor is able to render on 4K and 8K videos and also video editing using adobe premiere pro new version?Can I make accelerator hardware using 4x CPU since it has no video card?Give me some advice.Thank you.

Hii, I'm thinking about buying my first laptop for after effects. My budget is around €1000. I found already a few ones but I'm open for suggestions since I don't know anything about this.  -Macbook Pro 15inch Retina, Intel Core I7 2.5Ghz, 16Gb Ram, Iris Pro 1536 Graphics, 128Gb SSD but I have ICloud storage (I'm probably going too buy 2tb if I buy this macbook). If I buy this macbook, I'll probably buy a refurbished one because that fits better in my budget. I have an old XPS 8300 that has about seen its day. Lightroom and Photoshop are slow and I can't upgrade it any more.I'm looking at a new Dell G5 i5-10400F processor with a  GeForce GTX 1650 SUPER 4GB GDDR6 graphics card, 16gb RAM and SSD.  Normally I'd get an i7, but my budget's tight.Is this config good enough for PS and LR? 

Hello!I am looking for lightweight (possibly 13-14''?) laptop recommendations to do video and photo editing in 2020/2021. I use Windows over Mac. I will be traveling a lot during long periods of time for my work, so I will like something still durable to handle editing averagely 5 to 10 minute videoes. Budget-wise, I prefer not to exceed $1500 - with a little wiggle room if really needed...It seems challenging to find, keeping in mind that Adobe Premiere's list of laptop requirements. I'm also curious of the Microsoft Surface Pro or Samsung Galaxy Book Flex laptops, if anyone has tried them.Please let me know, thank you!

Hey gurus,my system from 2015 is: * Win10 64Bit* Intel i7 6700K (8 core, 4 Ghz) - 6. Generation* NVIDIA GeForce GTX 1060 6GB* 32 GB RAM* ASUS MB Z170-A Chipset* Samsung SSD 850 Pro 1 TB (used as C:, scratch and working files - hard discs just for offline storage. I am working with 4K material and use loads of effects, plugins (denoiser) etc. . Would I see a big difference adding a second GPU, more fast SSDs and maybe more RAM? Or should I re-start from scratch? Thanks for your time! J

Need advice on what's the absolute best laptop I can get for heavy rendering on the road.  Something powerful and light that I can run operates Adobe premiere and third part special effects like Boris. I'm looking at upgrading my mac to the brand new 16". I've had problems with mac and premiere in the past...plus no I want to use a Boris for special effects. I guess what I'm asking ois would you recommend the brand new 16" 64GB ram maxed out. I want to purchase a Dell G7 laptop, but I read somewhere gaming laptops may not be the best for After Effects (or other programs in Adobe CC). I wanted to check here before I made the purchase. I mostly use AE to prepare audio visualizers for my music from templates. I'm also interested in Premier to edit YouTube videos. I have a mid 2011 27-inch iMac. It has a 2.7GHz Intell Core i5 Processor. It has only 4GB of ram but is upgradeable to 32GB. Will I need a new Mac or can I get away with upgrading the Ram and using this one to edit with Premiere Pro?

The CPU definitely needed upgrading, especially since it was nearing four years old (with the H170 chipset dating back five years now). I’m currently on the look for a new laptop to rely on entirely for my design work. Unfortunately, MacBook Pro isn’t a feasible option for me in the meantime, so I’m looking for a Windows laptop than can run the latest versions of Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign, XD, Dimension, and also (but less importantly) After Effects as I’m still planning to learn it. I really care to have all features like 3D active in Photoshop, and I’m also not sure whether Dimension requires an even more power GPU.I found a decent option within my budget from HP with an i7-8565U chip, 16GB of RAM, and 4GB Nvidia MX250. My only concern is whether the MX250 will be able to efficiently run the programs I previously mentioned or will it fail the job. I'm really hoping someone can help. Premiere was running like a champ, and now, all of a sudden, exports are taking much, much longer. What previously took 5-8 minutes is now taking > 1 hour.  My specs: CPU Ryzen 9 3900XRAM 64 gbGPU GeForce RTX 20602 SSD drives. The weird thing is when it's encoding, the CPU never rises past 10% utilization and the GPU never rises above ~5% or so. I'm encording using h.264.  I've changed every setting I could think of. Software instead of hardware encoding. Switched from performance to memory. I've tried using the media encoder instead of PP, and nothing I do affects this bottleneck. And again, this is a recent phenomenon. When I first started using PP on this machine this summer, it was tearing through encodes. Now it's crawling. Thank you in advance.   

Long time ago on this forum, there was a list of computers that were compatible with the Mercury Playback engine for PP. I've been useing an old Toshiba that has "Known Issues" but that's all I have. Any suggestions for a newer computer for PP? I only use Premier.Thanks,Art

I currently have the Alienware 17 R5i7 8750H 6 coresNvidia 1070 (also has a Internal GPU as well)32 DDR4 Ram1TB SSD With this I have trouble editing the New Sony A7SIII 4k 4:2:2 10bit GOP Long Codecs (S & HS).  It is too glitchy and not worth trying.  Even with proxies it has issues.  Prior to the update my specs were fine for all other 4K files even the 4K 4:2:2 10bit 120fps from Z-cam.  The Prores RAW from Atomos Ninja V I can now edit after updating and tweaking my nVidia settings but start to get problems when playing more than 2 tracks with RAW clips simultaneously.  But still not able to edit the A7SIII files at all. My question is what specs should I be looking for to crush through these files with this new update that is more resource hungry.  I dont want to spend more money than I have to and buy something that I don't need. Would a i7 10th gen with RTX 2070 be fine or should I go up to i9? Also with the new update to PP it

My current laptop bought in 2105 Lenovo Yoga 3 Pro simply can't handle Premiere Pro 2020. I get an unsupported video message and it just glitches so bad. What do people recommend for the best laptops on the market now and what spec should I be looking for?
