I've seen posts about how to optimize if I have 3 drives.SSD#1: OS and softwareSSD#2: Project and source mediaSSD#3: Media CCache and Scratch If I only have 2 hard drives however, what's the optimization?  OS and software on one and project and media on the second?

This is my current machine. I've been reading through this article on storage optimization.I currently have an HDD and NVME. I am looking to buy an additional SSD. I currently have my OS and Creative Cloud apps on the NVME, and then I have my project files, cache, source media, scratch, exports and archive on the HDD.Should I move my project files to the NVME with the OS, and have the apps, cache, scratch, and source media loaded to the new SSD, and then exports and archive on the HDD? Or do I set this up another way for better results.My motherboard doesn't have a second NVME slot, so I'm stuck with one NVME slot for now (and I prefer getting a cheaper SSD anyway).Thanks!

Hi, I am new to video editing so am currently using an old computer with i7 cpu and 8gb ram so it is struggling. I have been looking at either upgrading my computer, buying a new windows computer or getting an old iMac. My budget is around £600. Any sggestions?

I am setting up a new computer to create 4k animation pieces (8-10 minutes long) using Character Animator, Premiere Pro, After Effects, Dynamic Link and Creative Cloud File sharing system. I read articles and also from Puget that 5900x is better for Premiere Pro and After Effects but I am concerned about it being stable with heavy use of Dynamic Link between all these programs. I create original animation in Character Animator and then use Dynamic Link to post in AE, PP and Au. I know that Adobe has worked with Intel to optimize software in the past, but it seems most are now recommending AMD cpus for more productivity. Still, I have only read about AMD cpu on Premiere Pro and AE standalone and not read about AMD cpus stability with Dynamic Link and other CC usage like Creative Cloud File sharing. Can anyone share any insight on this? Thank you!

MS-7A94OS and Software is in a 500GB SATA SSDProjects & Footage are on a 1 TB PCI Express M.2 SSDI recently ran my first Puget Bench in Premere and got a 555 I'm interested in the new RTX 3000 series GPUs but don't want to spend money on something if it's not my graphics card slowing this system down. I don't really have time for a clean windows re-install right now. And I don't overclock. I buy components and run them stock I don't have time or energy to dance with breakdowns just to gain a few seconds here and there. I have thought of upgrading to the i9-10920X

I am new to editing and am in the process of setting up my hardware. I need to keep my total spend to less than £1000.I will be using Premiere Pro.I have chosen an iMac "Core i5" 3.0GHz 21.5-Inch (Retina 4K, Mid 2017) Model No. A1418 Model Identifier:iMac18,2 with 16GB Ram and a 1TB HDD.It is in mint condition and I got it from a friend at a really good price of £400, which leaves me budget to upgrade.Three questions:1. The RAM is upgradeable to 64GB. Should I go for that, or will an upgrade to 32GB be enough?2. I am also thinking of upgrading the drive to a 2TB SSD. Will that be sufficient?3. Should I get an external drive too? If so, any pointers?

Hi,I'm looking to buy a new laptop to use with all the Creative Suite apps.I'm looking at the HP Spectre x360 with i7 processor and the GTX 1650 graphics card.Will that be sufficient to run the likes of Photoshop and Premier Pro?

My graphics card RX 570 does not give an increase in performance, what with it, what without it, the result is one, even fullhd video playback slows down. That's why I want to replace it with a version from nvidia. Tell me which graphics card is best for me? 1660ti or 3070? What is the difference in performance between them in my configuration? Does it even make sense to take the 3070 for my configuration? Won't my CPU be a bottleneck for this? I’m looking for a laptop spec suitable to run Premiere Elements 2021. As a given, CPU - i7 10750H, RAM - 16GB, HDD - 512GB (SSD). But I’m not sure when it comes the Graphics / GPU? One m/c I’m looking at has a GeForce RTX 2060 6GB, which is on the compatible list for Prem Pro, but not for Essentails. Another option is the GeForce GTX 1660TI 6GB, again on the list for Pro but not Essentials. I’ve also seen commentary to the effect that Elements does not utilise GPU capability? But there are Graphics Cards included in the System Requirements detailed for Elements. (but not any that seem to included in a mid price laptop config) All comments, views, suggestions and input most welcome. [edited by moderator]    

Hello there, I'm trying the Premiere CC 2019 but at the start shows the issue "Adobe premiere could not find any capable video play modules". I have a Nvidia GTX 1050ti in a desktop pc. I google it and found that the file GPUSniffer.exe is the one who detects the GPU to adobe programs, in this case, Premiere. But when i started the GPUSniffer showed me this: GPUSniffer testing 254Unrecoverable GPU Failure detectedFull Test test failed, trying No MetalAt this moment, I cant open the Premiere App because of the "video play modules". I aprreciate any help. Thanks.

Hello Everyone. I am a little confused, would you please help me. I am adding an extra Hard Drive for Project files and Disk Cache. In one of our forums I was told If I am Editing 4K Videos, I was told it's best to have NVME 4.0.  I did look online, and It looks like NVME 4.0 is like a Memory card rather than an actual SSD Drive.If I use Samsung SSD Instead of NVME 4.0, is it going to be much slower?Thank you very much.

I see a lot of threads talking about processor and video cards but not one talking about Motherboards and chipsets. Has anyone found any research on the best Motherboards for video editing and after affects.The motherboard is the highway between the RAM, CPU, HDD and Video card. Keen to get professional opinions from those who have investigated what Intel i9 compatible motherboards have the best architecture for video editing.Specs of this PC will bei9 processor2 x M.2 SSD drives. Hi!2 days ago I ordered the Dell poweredge M820 cluster a very cool server and has 4x CPU E5-4607 6 cores and 12 TH my work and only productivity with 32GB of DDR3 1600Mhz RAM.This processor is able to render on 4K and 8K videos and also video editing using adobe premiere pro new version?Can I make accelerator hardware using 4x CPU since it has no video card?Give me some advice.Thank you.

Hii, I'm thinking about buying my first laptop for after effects. My budget is around €1000. I found already a few ones but I'm open for suggestions since I don't know anything about this.  -Macbook Pro 15inch Retina, Intel Core I7 2.5Ghz, 16Gb Ram, Iris Pro 1536 Graphics, 128Gb SSD but I have ICloud storage (I'm probably going too buy 2tb if I buy this macbook). If I buy this macbook, I'll probably buy a refurbished one because that fits better in my budget. I have an old XPS 8300 that has about seen its day. Lightroom and Photoshop are slow and I can't upgrade it any more.I'm looking at a new Dell G5 i5-10400F processor with a  GeForce GTX 1650 SUPER 4GB GDDR6 graphics card, 16gb RAM and SSD.  Normally I'd get an i7, but my budget's tight.Is this config good enough for PS and LR? 

Hello!I am looking for lightweight (possibly 13-14''?) laptop recommendations to do video and photo editing in 2020/2021. I use Windows over Mac. I will be traveling a lot during long periods of time for my work, so I will like something still durable to handle editing averagely 5 to 10 minute videoes. Budget-wise, I prefer not to exceed $1500 - with a little wiggle room if really needed...It seems challenging to find, keeping in mind that Adobe Premiere's list of laptop requirements. I'm also curious of the Microsoft Surface Pro or Samsung Galaxy Book Flex laptops, if anyone has tried them.Please let me know, thank you!

Hey gurus,my system from 2015 is: * Win10 64Bit* Intel i7 6700K (8 core, 4 Ghz) - 6. Generation* NVIDIA GeForce GTX 1060 6GB* 32 GB RAM* ASUS MB Z170-A Chipset* Samsung SSD 850 Pro 1 TB (used as C:, scratch and working files - hard discs just for offline storage. I am working with 4K material and use loads of effects, plugins (denoiser) etc. . Would I see a big difference adding a second GPU, more fast SSDs and maybe more RAM? Or should I re-start from scratch? Thanks for your time! J

I need to replace my laptop (destroyed by coffee) asap and need one that will work really well with Photoshop and Illustrator.   Would prefer solid state, and 16Gb I think.    I'm in Scotland - can anyone suggest what would be best or what they find good.  Many thanks.Kate
