Specs are:i7- 8700t16gb ram256 gb ssd1 tb hdddNvidia GTX 1050 with 4gb. Its an all in one which is why I am leaning more towards it, and trying to stick in a budget. I use photoshop, illustrator, indesign and premiere pro for my university studies- generally video editing is up to 8min long films, and not yet learnt any affects but will be learning video effects in future. The other option was the Dell XPS 8930 toweri7- 970016 gb RAM512 GB RAM1TB HDDGTX 1660ti - roughly the same price as I would need to get a monitor as well if I went the tower way. Any advice would help. Thanks,Nicole

Hi there, I would so appreciate some advice. I am sorry. I am not that technically minded when it comes to computers! I am trying to configure a new Mac as my iMac has died. I principally use Lightroom and Photoshop occasionally editing in PP. Below are the options I am faced with, I have put the options I am thinking of going for in red but as I say I really don’t have much of a clue. At some point I might need to upgrade it to be able to edit 4K but not yet. What options would people go for? As the title suggests, I'm looking for a storage/workflow solution with lots of ProRes footage. I recently bought an external recorder (Atomos Shogun Inferno) which increased my storage needs dramatically. How do you handle big file sizes for both, editing and long term storage?I was looking at external RAID drives but the only feasible solution with enough throughput seems to be Thunderbolt based which my PCs don't have (yet).How do you handle the need for large and fast storage?

It's time for computer deals and I need a new editing computer badly. I have been limping along with an ancient Mac Pro tower, which I have loved. However, the new Macs are going to be outrageously priced (min of $6K for the entry-level) so it is time to start thinking Windows 10, and this is where it gets sketchy for me.I need to edit in 4K in Premiere and I use the full Adobe suite. I will also probably use Davinci Resolve for color grading. Obviously, the more RAM and faster striped-SSD drives I use, the better. But when it comes to video cards, which is best? Nvidia? Cuda cores? Do I need two cards for the best performance? How does that even work? What is SLI? I am a creator, not a network admin.Is there a "best features" editing platform document for Premiere users here in 2019?

HiI am using my PC for editing 4K videos and the performance is very slow. In particualr I am surprised that premier pro is not using my GPU. My CPU usage goes to 97% during rendering and although I have selected mercry CUDA acceleration my GPU usage is only 7%.  Before I go and try other software want to eliminate any issues. I am using windows 10 pro and all of my drivers are the latest.  system specswater cooled Intel Core i9 7900x 12 core CPU @ 4.5GHZ 64GB DDR4 RAMNvigita GTX1080 8GB video card2TB Evo pro NVMe SSD for referrence it takes ~5 min to render 10 minutes of 4K video, renderign the same project using my mac laptop that is significantly less powerful than the PC only takes 2.5 min. For tother similar tatsks such as RAW image processing, the PC is suually 10x faster than the laptop   thanks  

HiI need to buy a new laptop for work when i travel. I used to have a Dell Inspiron 17 which gave me really good results, but it is already 4 years old and its graphic card (intel) started to fail when doing exports. Now, i am about to buy a new Dell Inspiron 15 7000, intel 7 8th gen, 16 ram, and a graphic card NVIDIA(R) GeForce(R) MX250. It is not listed under the recommended by Adobe graphic cards, but Customer Service told me to ask here in this forum. Can anybody give me some orientation with this? I edit with 2019 Premiere Pro version.

Hi, after using Premiere Pro CS6 for years, now we have access to CC (Win10). I have the choice between the Nvidia Quadro K2200 mit 4 GB GDDR5 (2 DisplayPorts und 1 DVI) and the Quadro P4000 mit 8 GB GDDR5, 4 DisplayPorts (within Fujitsu workstation). At the moment using two 27'' monitors with WQHD (2560 x 1440). But in a short while two 4K UHD monitors (3840 x 2160), same size (esp. for working in InDesign, showing/editing large format documents).   Question: does it make a difference esp. in Premiere Pro (or Photoshop) using the P4000 instead of K2200? Disadvantage of the P4000: it's louder, not as quiet or even silent as the K2200.   Thanks a lot! mycc   PS: in the past I have "well known" issues with the Nvidia processor of the K2200, sometimes Premiere freezes or the CUDA acceleration is disabled. I just downloaded Pr last week on my Mac laptop (specs below), but playback is just so crazy slow, even after figuring out how to use proxies. Proxies worked once, everything was smooth... but when I returned to the project the next day, it was lagging again. I almost want a refund. So I just want to hear your opinions on what's the best computer to use, OR what you're using. I checked out a couple of threads on upgrading a system to an SSD and/or M.2 chip, and they all got fairly quickly into discussions of special accelerators, cache placements, and other stuff that went beyond and above what I suspect a lot of basic video users (especially users of Premier Elements) really need. Hi,it's been a long time since I was in charge of a PC and so I seek for the community wisdom to help me find a right setting.For a video editing project I will be provided with a new PC, and I want to make sure to get the best out of the specs.Does somebody have experience with Multiboot Linux/Windows and using Premiere/DaVinci here?The inital idea was to partitionate the hard drive so in case I would habe to install Windows and set up a Multi Boot. I too have a major frame dropping proble, I just moved from Premier Pro C6 on older Windows 7 computer, to Premier Pro 2020 on a computer with the below specs. The same project file ran on my older computer without dropping frames, but has massive amount of dropped frames on my new and much more powerful computer. The media is 1080p, mostly png-seqence with only one video track. Task Manager indicates it's using 20% CPU and 10% RAM. Bonjour à toutes et tous !J'ai un soucis avec les rendus de première pro et AME. Mon AMD RYZEN 7 3700X n'est pas très bien exploité en rendu. ( Min : 25%, Avg : 30%, Max : 48% ) Par contre, ma CG est à fond de cale. Et ça, peu importe les effets, les sources etc... Je précise qu'utiliser première pro ou AME ne change rien.Le screen de monitoring donne l'impression que je suis en jeu, mais non. C'est bien en rendu première pro.C'est bizarre. Parce que je sais que le boost GPU est important et est bénéfique aux performances de rendu, mais là, on a l'impression que le CPU est totalement dépasser et laisser à l'abandon pour le GPU ( RTX 2060 ). Comme si les rôles étaient inversés. Du coup, le rendu est plutôt lent pour un 8 cores / 16 threads... J'ai un autre pc, qui avait un intel i7-6850k au paravant, un 6 cores / 12 threads qui était charger à 80% grand minimum, souvent à 100%, et la carte graphique ( GTX 1080 ) à environs 30%.Ce qui me perturbe d'autant plus, c'est qu'Handbrake à

I started an intro thread, for non-IT-experts, on the basics of moving from spinning drives, to SSD or M.2 units. I can see the logic in doing that, but a couple of questions arise, including, has anyone who has tried that approach ever done any actual speed comparison tests, when generating a large video file (such as, say 2 Gb or greater)? And, is that approach recommended, or discouraged? Please keep this simple. I really would rather NOT get into digressions re: RAID, or other accelerator options, or other software/hardware packages that can be added on. I don't work at that level, and I'm just trying to ask a basic, straightforward question, which I hopes merits a direct answer. If there are links to other good threads

I would like to buy a laptop specifically for adope premiere pro. I'm new to this so i don't have to much money so a low end price is fine just to do the work is fine 

Back in August of 2018 I had planned a virtual retirement from hardware upgrading. But now with CC 2019 now here and requiring me to update some hardware once again, I am contemplating pulling out my miniITX i7-7700 PC from dormancy and putting my i7-4790K tower PC into semi-retirement. The holdup was that the i7-7700 has only 16 GB of RAM while the i7-4790K has 32 GB of RAM.To attain that goal without spending much if any money on new parts I am planning to move my currently in-use GTX 1060 6 GB card, 512 GB Samsung 850 PRO SSD and Pioneer BD-R/RW drive into the mini-ITX PC and remove personal software from my current PC and possibly refresh the OS installation on the older PC.Does that sound like a good plan? Or shall I get all-new hardware, such as a new CPU, motherboard, RAM and possibly an m.2 PCIe SSD or two, given my current financial situation (being on LOA from my day job, with possibly zero income)?I would really appreciate your answers.Randall
