Hello!I feel like rendering/exporting tasks after the last PP update are taking way more time.Is there any way to fasten things up again? After replacing a failed motherboard premiere will load but will not function. Load a previous incomplete project and it wont playback and is super slow. Tried with a new project and its doing the same thing. Any suggestions? Also, wont close without a not responding error and a force close.Have removed Premiere and reinstalled. Hey guys,I am close to setting up my Premiere workstation after a few months of research/planning. I wanted to list my specs/workflow and see if the experts here can chime in to see if I could optimize it any better. ok folks. Anyone out there actually using it?  I'm about to setup a new array, and reading around it seems its going to suck for writing.  And for smaller files. How small no one seems to say. Will 70mb raw files be considered small?  (I do lots of timelapse).  In fact most of my video files are in the hundreds of megabytes range rather than gigabytes.  I have 4 drives going into the array. to raid 5 or 3?

I"ve got a ton of rendering to do for an upcoming conference and I thought I'd double my rendering speed witching to the new graphics processor (using CUDA setting). The rendering is basically two 1080p video streams that get reduced top picture in picture with the output again being 1080p. I know different video processors make a difference because I've carried around a 10 minute benchmark I use over and over for testing between different devices (previous results pasted below).The 970GTX and 1080Ti are giving me almost identical rendering results.  Is that to be expected on what I'm doing? First, my system specsMSI B350M board + Ryzen 1600 + 16GB DDR4 + Radeon RX 560Installed PPro CC 2015 in Windows 10 Pro and when encoding to MPEG video, resource monitor shows the threads as hardly utilized. Reinstalled PPro in Windows 7 Home and with the same preset, am now encoding using anywhere from 70% to 100% on all cores.I have the high performance profile running in both O/S and was wondering if anyone else had the same problem?[Moderator note: moved to best forum]

Will Premiere and After Effects be able to make use of 18 cores (36 core multi-threaded) 64 bit processors?If not, then this should be a huge priority for the developers to tackle... Dropped frames and sluggish performance when working on multi layered projects seems to limit most projects I work on these days. The programs slow to a halt if you have more than one two layers playing at once (at least on my rig) even when the playback is set to 1/4 this does not help overcome this processor bottleneck.When I link an edited file from After Effects to Premiere it is even much worse...I use Prodad effects and those also are processor hungry.All of my projects are on hold because my processor is just too slow to work with several layers at once. Hi Adobe family!I run a late 2014 5k iMac. Its 4.0 ghz, 32gb RAM, 1tb fusion(unfortunately, I know). I'm having a lot of trouble in lightroom. My sunset skies get stuck being pixelated sometimes for minutes. I don't remember this being a problem in the past. I also recently got a 42mp camera, and the files lag a bit. I was considering getting a new 2017 iMac, but Im not sure if its worth spending 3k to get up to a 4gb graphics card. I'm assuming thats the big issue, not the fusion drive. My photos are stored on a thunderbolt RAID drive with speeds of a little over 300mb/s each way. With high sierra coming out with support for egpu's, I'm wondering if thats a better answer. I do only have thunderbolt for connectivity though, not thunderbolt 3 that the egpu's that apple is selling require. I'd much rather spend $500 on an egpu, when everything else my computer does works fine. Can you guys tell me if A) It sounds like the graphics card is my issue?B) Have any recommendations of a graphic

All the discussions you see comparing cards are about things like rendering times and the like.I'm aware that there's not much in it between these 2 cards for that but I cant help wondering if the extra 4gb of memory helps with playing-back and rendering cuda effects in 4k?I've not been able to figure out whether my system issues (black screening, failed GPU renders, constantly having to clear the media cache etc) is down to my gtx970 and will be helped by a new GPU.  I'd love to get some input before dropping $1000!

I have installed several programs via the CC apps three of them will not launch.  Premiere Pro and the associated Media Encoder and After Effects.  When attempting to open/launch the programs I get an audible error tone, no on screen error.  I have:Installed and uninstalled from inside and outside of the firewallInstalled and uninstalled from the CC App and from the Adobe websiteReviewed the Install log and found no error on last install outside of the firewall.Tried running as AdminWhat else can I try?

I'd like to edit 4K smoothly at max resolution without creating proxies, and on Mac. These would be h.264 clips from Sony mirrorless and I'd like to have Lumetri enabled with a LUT typically. What Mac can cut it? Thanks!

As have many others, I am looking to order a custom laptop for Adobe CC '17. I know just enough with computers, but not enough to feel comfortable without getting some feedback. Take a loot at this setup. I'm editing lots of 4k footage from a Phantom 4 pro and soon a Panasonic GH5. Most importantly i'd like a fluid 4k playback in the timeline with the full quality setting within Premiere - although I could also live with fluid playback at 1/2 quality. Will be converting lots of H.264 to Prores, so this should run quickly as well. 4k footage and my now more extensive use of cineform codec means my 7x2tb raid 5 is now no longer cutting the mustard.Its running on an areca 1223 8i with sata drives on windows  (HGST enterprise).I tend to do small projects but end up keeping quite a lot of media, filling up my raid. Problem is that I dip into this media quite frequently, so it needs to stay on a relatively fast drive.  I could ditch the raid altogether, or replace the drives with say 4x6tb drives giving me room to keep adding. or I could go to raid 0, and get used to doing daily backups (I've had a bad experience with raid 10, was a waste of time when it came to data security).I'm open to ideas, though - like an external solution with a more modern file system....?
