Hey,I am looking to upgrade my PC and to Adobe Premiere CC.Multicam is my big thing that it really lags on my i5 2nd gen. Especially as I have now gone over 4 streams. After some research I've read that the MacBook Air barely has enough power to run Premiere and AE. I need a laptop to use on the road a couple times throughout the year so whatever I buy wouldn't be my daily driver, I have a Mac Pro in my office. Hello, great and powerful Adobe Community.  I'm hoping someone can help me compare some specs.  I put in for two new workstations fitted out as hot rods to handle video production.  Our IT department questioned whether we needed anything as powerful as what I asked for and counter offered with a configuration they have in stock.  The fact is that I'm not a tech head and don't really know, I just took the best components Dell had on offer while trying to avoid total sticker shock.  I don't expect an opportunity to upgrade for quite some time and want all the machine I can reasonably use.  Currently, we mostly do basic video production (talking heads in front of green screens) with some modest animation and special effects.  Current render times average about 2-3 hours to render roughly three minutes of video.  However, we've just been handed a multi-year project that will call for much more ambitious productions. Not sure if anyone has seen this before, but it's new to me and I've been using Premiere for years. Just updated to latest version CC 2017 and whenever I have PPro open any video I play on my system (VLC, Quicktime etc.) I get no sound. Likewise, any videos played in any browser (youtube, Vimeo etc.) won't play at all. If I shut down PPro then everything works again, so it looks like it's hogging the graphics and sound card for some reason.I have Nvidia 1070 card.Any ideas?

I'm working with 4K footage in Premiere CC 2017. Working with effects and color correction is extremely slow. Using Lumetri CC panel is the worst offender, it takes 30+ seconds for an effect adjustment to show up on screen making it pretty much useless for subtle correction - if you blink at the wrong time you might not even see the change. I utilized past forum suggestions to speed up the work, but they're mostly older posts, and I didn't see any results when I tried the suggestions so I shelled out to upgrade my graphics card hoping that would fix the problem.  It has made only a slight difference. I would appreciate some input as to what might be a good hard drive configuration to use to edit video with PPro on our Win 10 notebook computer. We also need to be able to transfer projects to other desktop PCs fairly frequently so portability is highly desirable. The notebook is currently configured with an internal 1TB 7200 RPM SATA 6Gb/s HD and a Samsung 960 EVO 250GB M.2 drive for the OS. External ports available for possible external HD options include two USB 3.1 Gen 2/Thunderbolt 3 Combo Ports (Type C), two USB 3.0 (USB 3.1 Gen 1) ports, and one USB 2.0 port. From reading posts here it seems that Samsung T3 drives are quite highly regarded. Were we to go with the T3 option, would we benefit from more than one T3 and what would be a good way to configure HD usage within PPro projects (Scratch Disks, Media, etc.).

Hello all.After posting about artifacts appearing in my videos rendered from Premiere and After Effects (see Artifacts in the playback window and exports ), it seems like the issue popped up again. I contacted both NVIDIA support and Adobe support via chat and essentially one was pointing the finger at the other and giving me a ¯\_(ツ)_/¯My situation is that I need a graphics card for my Windows 10 PC that will run an Oculus Rift and be good for VR gaming--because that's the line of work I'm in--AND run Adobe CC video apps like Premiere and After Effects.NVIDIA says that I would need a Quadro card to use with Adobe apps, but that I'd need GTX 10XX for VR gaming. I usually run Adobe InDesign, Illustrator and Photoshop at the same time, on Windows 7 64-bit PC. Occasionally, I use Adobe After Effects and Adobe Premiere Pro. What are the system requirements I need to especially run InDesign CC, Illustrator CC, and Photoshop CC at the same time?  I saw the individual system requirements listed for each app, however does that change when running multiple apps simultaneously?  My computer at work is no longer holding up and I would like to know what to request.Thanks,Kendra

Hello. I need some advice from experienced users in order to buy a sh workstation for photo processing (Lightroom, Photoshop) and sometime video editing in Premiere. Some friend of mine is selling a hp workstation for @ 1000 euro and I wanted to know if it's a good move. Hey everyone!I'm going to be picking up a laptop in the next month or so to edit on while I'm away from my desktop.  I'm wondering what your opinions are on:15.6" screen vs 17.3"1920x1080 vs 4k screen resolution.Here's my use case, if you need any further insight.  I use PP for editing and AE for motion graphics. I edit in 1080p and I do a lot of dynamic linking.  I'm mostly on my desktop, but while I'm away I'd like to be able to access and work on my active projects.  When i have a strong internet connection, I'll be using a remote desktop service like gotomypc so my desktop can continue to do the heavy lifting. I've tested this with my wife's laptop and it works well.  I'll also be using a cloud service to sync my desktop work drive with my laptop work drive so i can edit offline when needed.Which brings me back to my original question: i can't decide between 15" and 17",  and between 1080 and 4k.I'd prefer a 15" 1920x1080 laptop like the gigabyte Aero

I work at a non-profit where we do video editing in Premiere. I have been tasked with getting a new computer. I am looking at ai7-7700k (4.2 Quad-Core)32GB DDR4 RAM GTX 1080 or 1080 Ti512GB Samsung m.2 960 Pro2TB WD Black for additional storageBuilt by Digital Storm.With this build, I see that the 1080 and 1080 Ti are not listed in the supported GPU list from Adobe. Do these work and will they be recommended later? I don't want to get stuck with a beast of a graphics card that Adobe does not play well with. To add, is the i7-7700K good enough or would a step up to the i7-6800K (6-Core but benchmarks don't seem to be affected much) be a better route?

I received the computer with the original small videocard GT 120 in it (which I still need if the nvidia drivers get disabled, but I removed it for now). And then I put in the blackmagic and the USB 3.0 card. It looked perfect to me. Sounds like overkill? It does, but I thought 'Hey, I can still use those high quality components in my next machine'.BUTNow I'm in trouble. Playback in premiere pro? I hit the playbar and a simple HD prores doesn't play for more than 5 seconds. Over. And over. Again. Quicktime player does it just fine, but not premiere pro. I am trying to get some faster render times and I am looking at upgrading from a 980ti to the Titan Z.I am working almost entirely with 4K H264 files from a GH4 or Phantom 4 with some occasional Canon 4K from a 5D Mark IVWhen I am doing the final rendering in Media Encoder the CPU stays below 50%, Memory stays below 50%, and the Disk I/O is not bad. I am building a new computer which will be used for many things but a lot of video editing and some photo. I was wondering if anyone that is familiar with Adobe Premier Pro and After Effects could help out or anyone that thinks they know. I was wondering if a person could use 2 SSD drives in raid 0 for the scratch disk and media cache drive. I know raid 0 is not as safe as only one drive or any other kind of raid but I can get two smaller SSD drives for a great price and much cheaper than one larger one. I know it will even make the SSDs faster. Anyone care to comment? Thanks.Also, what is the most common scratch disk and media cache drive size?

After discussion with Adobe tech support it seems I may be getting crashes because my current card has too little memory so I've ordered a new one.My old card is  GTX 760 with 2GB ram and the one I've ordered is a GTX 1080 with 8GB.When I install the new card, should I leave the old on in?
