Search for Copyright Symbol

Is there a way to search and find a Copyright symbol (©) in a .pdf? I've tried doing a regular search for the symbol, creating it by typing ALT+0169, but get no results (even though I know it's there).

My job includes identifying copyrighted material which may be included in .pdf's and restricting their improper reproduction. It wold be helpful to be able to search for the symbol instead of visually examining every page. Thank you.
