Question

After May 2016 update, my Adobe Acrobat XI became extremely slow to load each page that is almost unusable.

I did everything I could including uninstalling and re-installing the program. After initial re-install, it was ok, However, I had the 2-3 year old program with all patches and security updates, etc. missing. The minute that May 2016 update was installed, the program got slow again. I have other computers with lower versions of Acrobat that they seemed not be affected with this issue.

Hi mp74663476

Please Follow this thread to reset the preferences for the Acrobat software :- How to reset Preference settings in Acrobat.

If you are on Windows OS, open Acrobat, navigate to Help menu & repair the installation.

If the issue still persist then would request you to please check with the different user account with admin rights to replicate the issue .

Let me know how it goes.

I have that same issue.

On 2 seperate computers.

So I´m a gonna delete this  new fangled program and either go to an older version or a competing product.

Because this is insane. I feel like I was timewarped back to 1993 and trying to load a naughty picture from a floppy drive with a bad sector. It´s that bad!

Adobe reader is infamous for slowing your pc down. And they keep at it it seems.
