I want to extract pages from pdf and display the images  in an HTML container on a web site for  clients to see their photo books before purchasing. read through some discussions and found the script below  that extracts the  pages from a pdf.  I can use jquery flipbook to flip the pages.  So the part I am not clear on is the Acrobat part extracting the pdf pages.What I want to know is what version of Acrobat do I need in order to do this simple step? I need to automate the whole process. Is it possible to set different default field highlight colors? I previously developed custom javascript for adobe XI that custom stamps and saves the file.  Now our company is moving to DC reader but want the same functionality.  Is this possible in Reader?

We have seen a new issue with Acrobat Pro DC 2017.012.20095 and multiple plug-ins. We are aware that it affects plug-ins from multiple vendors.The plug-ins add tools which appear in the tool pane, can be added to the right hand pane, and appear as options in Quick Tools. So long as Tabbed mode is selected, this works as in previous updates to DC.However, starting with this update, if tabs are switched off in Preferences, the plug-in tools do not appear in the tools pane, right hand pane, quick tools selection, or quick tool bar. They return if tabs are switched back on. The plug-in remains installed and active, with menu items that it added still working normally whether or not tabs are activated.Does anyone have any info on this?

I have set up some basic formulas in my PDF.  Example....I have a Swing field and a Cycles field.  In the Cycles field under calculate I have a Simplified field notation:  (60*60)/Swing  The formula works fine but I have to have a number in Swing or it gives me a The value entered does not match the format of the field [Cycles]  - the format in Cycles is set up as a Number.  What do I need to change to be able to have a blank in Swing?

This seems like a simple one, but I've had some difficulty finding examples. I have Adobe Acrobat DC installed, and the Acrobat Addin for Excel. I'd like to convert say 3 of 5 worksheets in my Excel workbook into a PDF using VBA (and replace me having to do this manually). Hopefully this is easy to do.

We have encountered an issue where the size of the PDF files that we generate almost doubled in size when we upgraded the Operating System that we generate these files on from Windows XP to Windows 2012.  Has anybody else encountered this issue?  If so, how did you resolve it?

I am working on a script that is trying to read files (in .txt format) and manipulate them. I am trying to prompt the user to find and select an existing file on their computer. How can I write the code in such a way that triggers a pop up file explorer window (compatible with Adobe Acrobat DC)? I want the user to be able to find any document instead of dictating the file name or file location within the script. Once this is achieved, I would set the file name to a string variable called fileName. I am unsure where to begin with this process, so any help would be greatly appreciated. If there is an easier or more efficient method of achieving this goal please feel free to share. Thank you.

I need to create a fillable form that contains a simple drop down list in a pdf document that obtains its values from a web service that returns a small xml document and populates this drop down accordingly. I have the following questions on this topic:It seems I can add interactivity with Javascript so is it safe to assume I can use Javascript to consume a web service for this purpose? I read something about being able to access web services using something called Lifecycle Designer (seems to be really old posts about LCD), is this really necessary if I can use straight forward Javascript?If this is possible with Javascript, will all users who access this document be able to use it with Acrobat Reader without any issue be it security or other or do all users require the full version of Adobe for such an action?

Hi everyone.Im very new to javascript but learning. Im making i time sheet for my employer and have a calender widget on the first day of the week so whoever needs to use it can click on that datefield and choose a date. I wrote a script (With some inspiration from around here) to fill out the rest of the dates of the week. So if someone chooses monday 08/14-2017, the rest of the dates gets filled out by the script.I was asked if i could make it stop autofilling if a certain date is hit (We need to make them start a new timesheet at 2 dates each months , even if its midweek.) and im not sure where to go from here.This is the script i put in the costum calculation scripts for the other days. I'm still looking for help with this. One button to undo and one button to redo. Can someone provide a little help with this? I just can't find any javascript that will help me achieve these buttons. I have four text fields (total1, total2, total3, total4) and next to each I want to have the undo button and redo buttons for each total fields. Pretty basic. Like this, check box - click it to undo and if possible, to uncheck it to redo total1 field. And so on for the other three total fields. Or a second check box to redo total1. Hello All,I was wondering how difficult it would be to write a script that would go through all my bookmarks in the current PDF and mark those bookmarks that are dead and don't lead anywhere in a specific manner? Maybe bold and in red font?We send PDF documents back and forth with clients and between our changes and their's, we often end up with dead bookmarks in the file and I'd like an easy way to identify and resolve those. Any help would be greatly appreciated! THank you!

We receive a daily PDF file from our bank that is not searchable (they are not able to provide in searchable format). In attempting to perform text recognition we receive Acrobat error "could not perform recognition (OCR) because page contains renderable text".As a workaround we copy the original file, convert the copy to TIFF, covert it back to PDF and are then able to perform successful OCR, making file searchable. This is very time consuming. We are performing this on new daily files but also have a backlog of files to address. We are seeking a better solution.

I was wondering, is it possible to use one drop down box to apply a percentage to a specific total field? But, then clicking the same drop down box would then apply a different percentage to a different total field on the second click. At the moment I have one drop down that applies the percentage to two different total fields, at the same time but now I'd like to be able to apply two different percentages from the same drop down. I'm trying to not clutter up the form by using another drop down that would apply the selected percentage. So, I thought it would be possible with a bit of javascript and know how, to use one drop down to select the percentage. Or, I'm always open to suggestions that would work. Thanks, guys.

Hi,Attached you will see a pdf file with some text that is repeated at the top of  each page and all my pdf files. What kind of an object is this? Javascript does not recognize it as a field or annotation or header. Is there a way for me to detect this as a header via javascript and therefor skip my pattern matching test on its content .U8_2 _forum.pdf - Google Drive

Hello,I am currently working with a form that has several check boxes for a mutually exclusive checkboxes for a row series. Based on the check box selected, a corresponding text box will be populated with the applicable data (done using javascript). Also, when a certain option is checked, there are other options down below in the order guide that need to be checked simultaneously. I have accomplished this, but now I cannot figure out how to have check boxes populate simultaneously, but then if I check a different box in one of the previously automated series, that it will uncheck the other check box in the series automatically. I have searched and searched for an answer, but cannot find the solution. Please help!

I am scanning a document from Adobe Acrobat DC on a wireless multifunction printer. I am on Windows 10 and have never had any problems before. In the current document, for some reason Adobe stops working (locks up) after several pages. In other words, after the second page the program simply locks up – I cannot discontinue scanning, save the document, or anything. I have it set for a custom scan into prompt me for more pages. After two or three pages, it stops prompting me for more pages and the save button is grayed out. My only option is to shut down the program through the taskbar. I have tried running repair, and even uninstalled and reinstalled Adobe. I also changed the color mode from black-and-white to grayscale (I am only scanning at 150 for crying out loud). Nothing works. What's the fix for this behavior?
