So, here's what I need to doWhen a user opens a PDF document, I need to have my add-on check if there is a side-car file in the same location as the document (this indicates it comes from a document management system we are integrating with). If the side-car file is not there, my plugin will do nothing.I need to read the side-car file (XML or JSON) and determine various properties (meta data about the PDF document from the document system).The user changes the document and wants to save it back (the document is either a form with data he can fill in, or open in DC and is changed). I want to intercept the save command, ask the user if he wants to save it back to the document management system, if he clicks OK, have the document saved, and then (using my own code) ship the document back to my document management system.Close the document.Is this possible to do in a Javascript add-on? I'd rather not do it in C++.

Now the company has upgraded to 11 and I've had to redo the form I previously had a radio button that would take all the values from all the fields and populate them in an empty text box that would then be copied and pasted as a summary. Dear Adobe,I want to add annotations based on the existing annotation on the page, and I want to inherit the appearance of that annotation to add the new one. Here is my code for doing this. I try to use the function PDAnnotFromCosObj to get the CosObj of the existing annotation "annot", but I tried and nothing happened, could you please tell me is it a good way to copy the existing annotation's property to creating a new annotation? I am trying to automate a repetitive task, but I'm not sure it can be done in Adobe.  I routinely insert technical drawings and specs into a PDF template.  These different documents are always inserted into the same categories (Clarifications, Drawings, Product Specs, etc).  I was wondering if there were a way to write a script to automate these tasks.E.g.  The script would execute by determining which files are which and would then insert them in the proper category.  A subsequent action would be to re-number pages and update the table of contents. Am I asking too much of the software?

Hi AllI created an insert file button in Acrobat DC. I saved the file as a1     Save as other     2     Reader Extended PDF          3     Enable Commenting and MeasuringWhen I opened the file in Reader DC, the Button does not work,I also tried saving it as Enable More tools, with the same results. Any suggestion as to how I can get the buttons created in Acrobat DC to function in Reader DC?When I used previous versions of Acrobat and Reader they worked just fine. Do I need to add something to the JavaScript folder in Reader? If so is there a script that I can use? This has been driving me crazy and I could sure use some adviceKind RegardsScott

Hi. I've tried to work this out but I'm stuckI have a menu.PDF that has several buttons on it. On my mac I am only able to open the file if I use a relative path. Using /Users/xfolder/Desktop/OMR/Form.pdf doesn't work2. Word 2010 (64-bit), Acrobat 11.0.15For several months we have been able to convert Word 2010 documents to PDFs (via PDFMaker menu within Word) and retain the navigation entries created in Word.  We have some user-created styles that are assigned Level 1 thru 3.  These styles, which show up in the navigation panel in Word 2010 and are used to populate a TOC within these Word documents, have been converting directly into bookmarks for the PDFs created by PDFMaker.  That is, until late yesterday.To prove that this wasn't a specific Word document or new process which was causing the problem, I retrieved several Word documents that were converted last month without an issue.  All of them now do not generate bookmarks for the PDFs.I do see the ability to toggle specific styles in the Acrobat->Preferences->Bookmarks menu within Word, but this doesn't always work and it appears to be required to be set for each document.  In addition, toggling the styles causes P

Hello Can someone help me figure out how to tie the signature block to other fields (cells) that need to be filled out?I have 7 fields that need to be filled out before a digital signature can happen.  Can I get the digital signature block to give me an error message unless all the Cells are filled in first?  Once the cells are filled in the error message will not appear and will allow for the signature to go through.

I recently installed Windows 10 Enterprise (64 bit) on Dell Optiplex 9010 PC with 16 GB RAM as a clean new install.  After re-installing my Acrobat XI Standard registered version that came with my Fujitsu scanner, I am UNABLE TO OPEN MULTIPLE PDF FILES AT THE SAME TIME due to crash.  I ran the update - currently running 11.0.15 version.  I also changed the Screen Reader Options / Page vs Document to "Only read the currently visible pages" but is still crashing.  Does anyone know of another setting that needs to be looked at when running Windows 10 so that I can open multiple files at the same time without crashing?

We are using the JavaScript submitForm method to submit the form to a specified URL. The reason we do this is to send the PDF to our server. This works fine for most PDFs but larger ones are failing without any error given. I have a 180mb PDF which I am trying to pull the base64 data from. This method works for other PDFs but on this one I get an out of memory error during util.stringFromStream. Is there a way to stream this instead of pulling all at once? I eventually need to send this data out via hostContainer.postMessage. Dear forum,I have following problem with only Adobe PDF readers on all platforms regarded the PDF file available on http://www.andrijar.com/pumpd/pump.pdf. The file causes Adobe products to crash because it contains several SVG images with transparent PNG bitmaps, and it seems that those transparent PNG bitmaps are fatally noxious for Adobe products, while all other available readers show them quite correctly, like Sumatra, Nitro PDF, etc. The PDF is perfectly correct obtained from the fully correct XPS source and there is no viable explanation for such strange behavior of virtually all Adobe products.Please help me to surpass this problem.Sincerely,Dipl.-Ing. I'm iterating through the PDSElements of a document and I would like to be able to get the page number of the PDSElement. I know I can get a CosObj based on the PDSElement, is there a way that I can then convert to get the page from the CosObj?
