I can convert my pdf to Word doc. but in printing it it comes about half page size no matter what I do. Can I fix this?

Just signed up solely to be able to convert my book file that is now in pdf to Word so I can work on the doc. That happens okay, but when i print the doc it comes out half the size of the paper 87% no matter what size I put it on. Can I do something to get a normal looking document?
