I recently submitted two images of the same subject matter, but photographed in different orientations. One was a vertical shot to emphasize the background architecture, directing attention away from a foreground of vivid yellow gingko leaves. The other was a horizontal shot to place emphasis on the foreground's vivid yellow gingko leaves. So my question is, when you submit two images of the same subject matter, is it best to submit them both to the same category? Or is this a decision that revolves more around purpose? I ended up submitting both as Landscapes. However, my initial thought was Travel for the horizontal/architecture( Japanese ), and Landscape for vertical/gingko leaves. My reasoning was, I thought they might not appear together if the were listed in different categories.
