Hello!I'm writing here because I noticed what I think could be a bug in the Italian version of Ae (at the moment running the 24.3 version). Selecting "font" from the expressions menu I noticed that Ae automatically use quotation marks (") as container of the font name BUT, at least in the Italian language, expression should use the apostrophe glyph (') to work correctly.Using the quotation marks expression simply won't work, giving syntax error on that code line, having to edit the text string manually. Is this something that could be fixed in a future update? Or is it something that can't be differentiate from language to language? Thanks!

This happens to me several times a day: When pressing space bar to play preview, the menu item "Use Display Color Management" switches to on.I then have to manually switch it back off.Later it will turn on again. The same goes for "Show Layers Controls" which turns off randomly. (But not on)Seems like something's going on in the View-menu.....I have not been near any keyboard shortcuts.(Besides, it would be strange if I was able to hit a pretty obscure shortcut several times everyday by accident.)After Effects 24.1MacOS 14.2.1(But this behaviour has been ongoing for years on all my Macs)

Greetings,  System Specs Intel I7 137000kIntel UHD Graphics 770NVIDIA GeForce RTX 406064 GB RAM2T SSD4T HHDAll drivers are up to date.I'm using two monitors one is hooked up to the motherboard HDMI port and the other to the NIVIDA Graphics card.  Issue:  In preferences under preview the only GPU information listed is for the Intel CPU GPU. I want After Effects to use my NVIDIA GPU. How do I fix this?  I'm eternaly greatful for your support.   

When using rotobrush if I click play, it works for a second or two and then display an orange bar saying I need to free up some memory, and then just loop back a second or two making no more progress. Quitting all other adobe apps allows this to procecss a little more frames, but eventually the orange bar still appear. Going forward frame by frame (PgDn) works fine. It never runs out of memory. I just get tired pressing PgDn. Why would "play" run out of memory? It's just repeating frame by frame automatically.

  I've just installed Adobe After Effects for future projects I want to work on and began practicing using it, I saw this tutorial on how to do an effect I liked and tried it out. While messing with the time settings I made my timeline look weird? It doesn't display seconds anymore, and I really don't know how to navigate this, any help on how to make my timeline display seconds instead of whatever this is?

Hello all, Has anyone else experienced a severe drop in application performance speed and responsiveness (lastest After Effects 22.6) to the point where event clicking/unclicking layer icons can take several seconds to take effect after updating their Windows 11 OS with the latest update? Literally everything has slowed down within After Effects including skipping from one frame in a composition to another.Also, render times have exponentially increased in time compared to previous. I have a solid PC Laptop with very high specs and before the Windows Update (2 days ago) After Effects was working speedily without any problems.I'm wondering if anyone else has noticed anything similar and if there are any solutions (apart from trying to revert back to previous Windows state)? Thanks in advance,

Why is it that when I try to generate tracking points, it just goes all over the place? As you can see on the attached video, it just can't track properly. Is it because the video is low res?

expression "parent.thisComp.name" I want get name from the parent composition. What can i do to make magic happen?

Hi, i am trying to use After Effects for projection mapping, however when i go to After Effects> settings > video preview, to Enable Mercury Transit the display box is empty. It isnt even showing the display on my laptop. I am using a Macbook Air with M1 chip running macOS Sonoma 14.4.1. Is there a work around for this? My composition settings match my HD projector, and frame rate is set to 30.   

Hi there! Wasn't there a tool to un-precompose with Automation Blocks? I remember asking for it before, but can't find it. In any case, can it be created for un-precomposing multiple layers at the same time?  It becomes very useful when I take a lot of texts from Pr to Ae an they come like this  And this are not in the same timestamps, each one is separated so the un-precompose should paste the elements on the same time too. Thanks a lot and sorry if this is a repeated topic. I'm trying to create a globe sphere in After Effect using the cc sphere preset. I have a world map and a rectangle which will form the actual sphere, as two separate layers (which I created in Illustrator). I precompose them and then apply the cc sphere preset but the edges of the rectangle remain separeted causing a blank space in the sphere (see attachment). I've tried increasing the dimension of the rectangle but it doesn't seem to solve the issue. Can anyone suggest a fix? Many thanks

Cuando estaba editando un video, se me freezeo el pc, y se me apago. Perdi el proyecto pq no lo guarde y no se si se puede abrir o no, pero la cosa es q no me deja abrirlo ni nada pq no lo tengo ni nada, pero me sigue ocupando todo el espacio en el disco durocomo hago para o borrarlo todo lo del disco duro o recuperarlo?

Hello guys,I am looking for help on a problem I have since this morning and can't find why.On the screenshot below you can see that the orange line that should be on the first bar below "RIVAGE" is offseted and scaled.I copied the mask path (tracé du mask) and pasted it on position on the light calc called "Emitter" and it's not matching the bar that I traced with the pen tool.Does anybody has a clue on what parameters could influence this so that I can fix it or if it comes from something else?Thanks a lot for your help!!Cheers!

Hello everyone , I am new to after effects  and I don't know anything about after effects , layers , composition . . . NOTHING ! ! !     So I'll be asking you some  ' very stupid questions '  along the way  so please pardon my ignorance.Question No.1 :  I've started my first lesson by  composition > new composition etc. but when I click and select a background color , etc the color does not show up in the composition panel . . . . what am I doing wrong ?Thanks.

The system is Windows 10, the graphics card is AMD, After Effects 24.1 cannot import OBJ.and GLTF file do not display when imported.But these problems do not exist in the beta version.

Hello, I have a problem with animation fluidity. Just the night before yesterday I made the smoothness I needed for the first text, but I forgot how I did it.. It turns out that in the speed diagram I pulled both sliders to the left edge, but as I said earlier, I don’t remember how I did it the day before yesterday, and I don’t I know how to make the rest of the text have the same smoothness. Can you please tell me how to pull it completely to the opposite edge of the animation. Because no matter how I tried to repeat the same smoothness today, I can only pull the slider to the middle, and not to the end. Please, I REALLY need help, all the work is costing me because of this problem.

After effect didn't show anything.My After effect gone wrong, what support do I do?

We are trying to open a project I created on my iMac on a Windows machine. But all the dropdown menus that are, in German, usually called "Menü" are now called "MenY"; therefore, all my expressions are broken now. This happens in AE 2023 and AE 2024 and on multiple machines.If we manually add a Dropdown-Menu to a clip the effect is named correctly. Only the ones that were added on Mac are named wrong.Hope someone can help?

Hello! I tried getting help on Reddit but recieved nothing but 1 unhelpful response. I am trying to create a shadow for a 3d model in my comp, but the shadow catcher appears as a black square. Another Adobe Community post had the same issue in 2017, and apperently Cinema 4D renderer does not support shadow catchers. But I am not using C4D, I am using the advanced renderer. Does it not support shadow catchers either? That would be weird. The setting for "Accepts Shadows" is shown as "Only - Disabled" which is what the C4D guy had too. I have a sneaking suspicion that my fears are true.  If they are, will shadow catchers in the advanced renderer be supported soon? Thanks!

After updating to 24.1 for a lot of footage files the assigned profile is ignored, making me have to check all footage files and reassign the correct profile. Again. This happend before.Im working on VFX in ACES, and for this you need to assign the right color profile for every footage file you import (which for some reason is not scriptable), so it's quite frustrating to have to do this all over again for most (but not all?) footage files.Would be great that now ACES support is incorporated in AE the color profile assignment process is also updated (making it 'smarter', or allowing for user defined presets for a project (stills or .jpg = sRGB, .mov = LogC4, .mp4 = g2.2 r709 for example) or at least making setting color profiles scriptable so I can make a Kbar action to set a color profile interpretation, without changing frame rate and PAR at the same time like when using 'Apply Interpretation')

I stumbled on an issue when I add Particle System II to a layer; it disappears! The layer is there but shows nothing. When I disable the effect, is shows up again. I cleared cache, restarted AE and my PC to no avail. Any ideas?

I'm looking at the scaling of imported OBJs. Why is there a units dropdown? Everything in AE is in pixels, making a units setting questionable. The OBJs seem very large; as I see it, each unit in the OBJ file is 512 pixels in After Effects at 1 meter units and 100%? That's correct & going to be the scaling going forward? Very computer-y and kind of spoils the point of having a units setting. (I see Model scaling and Transform scale are separate, so there are 3 different levels of scaling present.) I'll suppress the Model Settings dialog during scripting; presumably at some point those settings should be scriptable.  Bug: the Advanced 3D renderer usage warning appears even if it has already been selected by a script.

Ensuite quand je clique sur OK.Je recois ce message :"Impossible d'ouvrir le fichier "/user/....". Si le fichier est ouvert dans une autre application, sa fermeture permettra peut-être de résoudre le problème"Or je n'ai pas ce fichier ouvert dans une autre application.S'en suit un enchainement de messages :- "Impossible d'ouvrir le fichier source. Verifier que le fichier dispose des autorisations nécessaires" ou - "ce fichier est endommagé ou n'est pas pris en charge" Le problème vient de mon coté ou de celui du client ? Sachant que j'ai la version MacOs Ventura 13.4.1. Que j'ai ré-installé After effect 24, deux fois.Est ce que la communauté Adobe peut m'eclaircir à ce sujet ? Dans l'attente de vos retours (avec impatience)Merci.
