Are the properties within the same layer not arrayed in the order they are manually selected? For instance, I selected position, scale, and rotation in a text layer. However, after executing this script in After Effects 20204 24.2,------------var comp = app.project.activeItem;var selectedProps = comp.selectedProperties;alert(selectedProps[0].name);------------the [0] part is scale instead of position.This is also the happen when box selecting .

There are no plug-ins, cache cleared and reset to default.Macbook from 2019 with Intel i7 - should be compatible and AE worked perfectly at the beginning.It shouldn't be the Macbook's fault, all other programs work - hardware and RAM tests also everything without errors. Hopefully anyone

Hi there, Need help to round edges of 3d (spinning) image. I would like it to look somewhat like the third image (D) but as it stands when it rotates all you see is the sharp edges and angles(2nd image). How can I make it more spherical? Pleae help. 

Hey allJust recently updated to an AMD graphics card , Radeon RX vega. And i'm getting .crash files constantly when launching on my desktop. The program runs fine, but worried it may not later on during a project. I have an intel i7-4790k - Windows 10 was working fine on my 980ti. chat GPT suggests something about an openGL crash or other threads crashing. Like i said before it opens and runs fine for now, just when it launches a Afterfx crash file appears on desktop. Done the usual DDU of NVIDIA drivers and AMD is up to date. I have attacthed one of the filesAny ideas?cheers!

Hello everyone! Could someone tell me approximately how to achieve a result similar to these examples, correcting my process? I was thinking of using the curves effect to distort the colors of the image, making it darker and reddish in certain corners. And then using turbulent noise to create a line effect similar to the image, using evolution to make a distortion animation. Finally, adding a mask to this animation, so that it is displayed in certain places of the image, and in this case, I have a lot of doubts about how to do it. Perhaps using the 'HSL SECONDARY' feature in the Lumetric Color effect and creating a mask by selecting specific colors to personal taste? I'm uncertain about that. In your case, After Effects professionals, what would you use to achieve a similar result?  Gif Example: Frame Examples:

Hi there,I've been using After Effects 2020 for a while and recently upgraded to 2023. I'm encountering a significant difference in how the "Center Anchor Point in Layer Content" function now operates. Previously (2020): This function exclusively moved the anchor point without impacting the layer's position, regardless of animations or parental connections to other layers. Currently (2023): However, in 2023, when this function is used on animated 3D layers parented to other layers, the anchor point itself remains stationary, but the layer's position unexpectedly shifts. This change unfortunately poses a major challenge for my existing projects. Query: Is there a solution to restore the previous behavior or a workaround to achieve the same outcome in the new version? Any assistance or information regarding this matter would be greatly appreciated.

Hi,I’m currently doing a composite using one of Action VFX’s free green screen shots (an astronaut in a space suit walking). I’m still in the beginning of the project, but I’m facing a problem with the green screen keying. As the shot has a lot of shadows and the green was kind of pale, I added Lumetri Color and tried to add some saturation and brightness to the green and reduce the shadows (I tinkered with that in HSL Secondary, but can't reduce them that much, without melting the suit shadows away as well). When I keyed it out, the space suit had some transparency, probably because the green spill is too much on the white suit and it eats away its pixels too. When I apply the keylight effect and sample the green, I end up with a semi-transparent subject. The only setting I can change to bring back 100% opaqueness is “clip white”, but that starts to add back the background in grey color. I tried to do a garbage mask around the subject and add the keylight, but it’s still the same

I'm working in AE v18, using Rotobrush 2 to isolate some foreground elements in footage I'm compositing a person into. I've roto-ed these elements and I'd like to add an additional mask to these layers to hide a bit of the image too time consuming to roto with the brush (working with low-contrast footage), but are easy to hide with a tracked rectangle mask. But masks don't have any effect on layers with the rotobrush effect applied.Are roto-brushed layers incompatible with masks (if so, why?), or have I stumbled upon a bug?

I'm developing an AEGP plugin, based on the AE SDK "Commando" example.By default, the plugin name appears grayed-out in After Effects "Window" toolbar. I want it to be completely remove it from there, as it's goal is to work on the background and be invsible to the user.How can I achieve that?

Hello, i have a problem on after effect, when i put my music folder on the project, the music speed up and cut at some moments for no reason, like if it was bugging

When I try to export a project the rendering process is stuck and won't move for example it is 8%/ 86/960 frames.The only way it moves a bit is when I turn off multi frame rendering but it doesn't really help.

I'm trying to edit an after effects template and I need to change the background gradient ramp in a composition. But I couldn't find this shape layer 1 in any composition and I couldn't change this gradient. When I double click on it nothing happens. Is there anyone who can help? Thanks in advance.

 I'm not sure if someone has already posted this issue, but I have the following situation: I have two text layers, text 1 and text 2. Text 1 will have the number of days, and text 2 only says 'days ago.' I want to use an expression so that as the number increases, it shifts to the left and doesn't overlap. In this example, I'm changing the values from a SourceText in Essentials Graphics. So, I used this expression, and it creates the desired shift, but the issue is that it animates the shift. Ive recently downloaded some logo templates from Envato Elements and was hoping to change a few simple elements.All i would like to do is change the background colour and use my logo but as soon as i've opened after effects i've realized i'm WAY over my head!Anything any one can do to assist? Any tips etc. I've been looking on youtube for answers but no joy   

I made a counter with an expression in a text layer. I wanted to append a text at the end of the expression but, as it is a formula I need to write it with subscripts and/or superscripts.I know I can't edit the style inside an expression so my thought and question is how to link another text layer with my formula with the sub and superscripts to follow the increasing movement of the counter.

I've been using AE for 2 years and I'm working with some 4k footage for a project. I created proxies of the footage to make things move smoother, however my text keeps rendering pixelated. Even when my comp window is at Full resolution and 100% AND I turn my proxies off, the footage is crystal clear but the text is pixelated. Then, when exporting, once again the footage is clear but the text is pixelated. I know it's not an issue with the font because I've been using that same font for years... Could this be an issue with the memory on my machine? Any help is greatly appreciated! 

There is something wrong in this position graph but i can't enable Separate Dimensions to edit it. Whats going on? 

I would like to do bezier curve editing in the graph editor for a 3D layer's orientation property, but the separate dimensions option is greyed out. How do I use the graph editor for this property? I tried making a null 3D layer and adjusting Orientation but "separate dimensions" was likewise disabled

Hi! Im experiencing some weird problems with AE today.My goal was to stabilize motion through AE. I imported an "untouched" file:Flog, 10 bit, 4:2:0, Rec. 601 (NTSC).As soon as I import the footage I seem to notice a lack of detail in the backgroung of the video.I have the resolution to full.Not only that, there seem to be color shifts in the shadows, which are a lot more visible after color grading.I tried literally everything I could find on web to correct the problem.I changed settings like working space and render color, tried every possible bit depth - also uncompressed.And nothing. I also tried adding the video directly to media encoder, encoding it to different codecs etc. and still the same result. Did try rendering it from AE through ME, since the dynamic link doesnt work either.The weird thing is, if adding the video directly to premiere, everything seems fine - also the details and no color shifts whatsoever even if color grading.I can provide additional information if neede

I can't drag and drop elements into the Library panel in After Effects.I can drag and drop everywhere else, no problem. Any thoughts?

Hey, I have these shapes in a style frame in Illustrator, and I'm wondering if there's a way that I can quickly import this into after effects. I would typically use Overlord, but I want to very quickly change the "size" property of all of them (but Overlord converts them all to paths on import to After Effects). Does anyone have a workflow for creating many distinct shapes like this from scratch in After Effects? Thanks!
