I am usingAudition CS6 which is  on my MacBook Pro / 13 Inch Mid-2012/ High Sierra 10.13.16.  The program stopped launching a week ago.  I can only launch Au CS6 when in Safe Mode.  Adobe Customer Support will not provide support and sent me to this forum. Crash report is below... I hope someone can help me as I make my living from using Audition.  (I do remember running an Apple Security Update a day or two before, if that helps...)

Exception Type: EXC_CRASH (SIGABRT)
Exception Codes: 0x0000000000000000, 0x0000000000000000
Exception Note: EXC_CORPSE_NOTIFY

THANK YOU in advance for your help!

The Apple 'security update' is almost certainly what has stuffed you, yes. Despite what they claimed, Apple appear to be making it harder and harder for anything 32-bit to run at all, even on the OS's that it's supposed to, it would appear. I'm amazed that it opens at all in safe mode, quite frankly.

One of the devs did a little research into the situation specifically with High Sierra last month. The gist of the reply he got goes like this:

"Apple released updates to OS and software which replaced 32-bit frameworks with 64-bit only.  The MobileDevice.Framework OS package, unfortunately, is tied directly to the CoreAudio frameworks, which means 32-bit applications which need access to the audio system will no longer work.

I don't think Apple is going to fix this, and there's nothing Adobe can do since we never made a 64-bit version of CS6."

If you want to take this up with anybody, it should be with Apple - fair and square.

Dear Steve_G,

THANK YOU for your response. I will take your comment to heart. I had a feeling the failure was associaed with a recent update on my OS ... is there ANY other way to workaround this issue as with the COVID-19 layoffs/furloughs, I am unable to subscribe to monthly Audition payments for a 64-bit version. Thanks again for your insights.
