Questions

I have been using Captivate for many years (since the old RoboDemo days), so I am aware of the settings to check for recording demos/assessments/training, but willing to check out something I may be missing. I've recently installed Captivate 64-bit v. 11.5.1 on a Windows 10 computer, and I am unable to capture any text boxes while recording for a software simulation running through Citrix. I have not had problems with this in the past for this same application. It captures the text entry like it would a drag-and-drop interaction, as an animation. I have a text-entry heavy application that I am attempting to build out quickly, but manually adding TEB for each interaction is becoming quite tedious. Other info - the software runs through Citrix and captures all other interactions. I have cleared prefs and runs the app as an Administrator, all without any success. Any help would be so very greatly appreciated, as I am running on a tight deadline (as we all tend to do)!Thanks!!!

I'm two days into the free trial and cannot seem to get the Click-to-Replace slide to advance past Tab 1 of 6.  I've followed all instructions in the https://elearning.adobe.com/adobe-captivate-tutorials/  Forced Navagation Interaction tutorial, but no luck.  Is there a way to send the slide/project to someone to review? Thanks, John

Hi community. When we record a user typing interaction in training simulation mode, it does not create a TEB (text entry box). This worked perfect in windows 7 and Vista, but in windows 8 and 10 it no longer works. We use Captivate 8.Br Ole

Dear Collegues, I am using adobe Captivate 2019. I am creating eLarning module with powerpoint presentations in which i have added animations and audio. I havce imported PPT with High Fidelity, Linkedwhen testing in browser these animations are not working and play takes  pause everytime.Please suggest any setting is required for the same.ThanksPankaj

Any advice?Captivate 2019 release cannot publish to Connect Training account. Says "selected asset does not exist." Never gets to a login prompt. For all files, including a one slide test I tried to publish. Connect won't take a zip either. Is it a Captivate issue?Any solves? Thanks in advance.

...Hello Captivaters !... 🙂I'm working on Mental Maths Test and I need a Count Down Timer on the slides...My project is based on the usual Captivate questions slides (to randomize the questions) and I have 4 questions pools.I managed successfully to limit the time of the questions to 5 seconds with the options...But as I don't really like the Captivate widgets Timer, I try to add a small animated gif, conting down from 5 to 0...As I tested it on preview html5, it works perfectly on my default browser which is Mozilla Firefox.But yesterday, as I tried to share the project with the community, I realized that there was a problem... The animated gif doesn't behave properly on the project I shared. So I tested it with Chrome and with Edge and I realized again that there was a problem...This morning I try to change the configuration of this animated gif and realize that Captivate, in fact, changed the Gif in a "swf" output... Pffffff... Too bad !...And also Captivate treated it not a

Dear all, how do I insert a way to check a learner watches the whole video in captivate and report this via an LMS? I have quizzes linked to the video but is there another way of checking how long the video was watched for? many thanks,  

Dear all, unfortunately my new update assets in 2019 are not appearing even after installing the latest update. Also how do i incorporate a timer on quizzes? many thanks, Sosodef

I am still having issues getting my Assets to open.  It just freezes and locks up the program.  Support said it was a known issue and just reported to them so I looked and there was an Adobe update so I deleted it and reinstalled the assets and it resolved for one day, then the update came back and now I can't delete that.  Does anyone know if adobe has resolved this?

When I publish a 360-degree virtual project, i click on the index.html file.  It opens in Microsoft Edge (does not work in Chrome, Firefox, or Internet Explorer) to a white screen and a play icon.  I click the play icon and everything looks great.  I click on any one of the many hotspots (info or graphic) and they pop up.   Problem is, there is no longer the close box "X" that was there in the preview and there is no way to close the pop up.   I chatted with Adobe Captivate helpdesk for 3+ hours yesterday - no closer to a solution.  Has anyone else experience this?  If so, any luck? thanks.

When I open captivate all I see is the top nav bar. The work area is missing or invisible. When I click on "master slide" it even shows the "master slide view" text but not the underlying work area. On a mac if that helps  

Hello,2 slides : I have a slide with a video and a button, which is linking at the second slide.From my second slide, how do I come back to the exact image I was in my video slide (the first)?By default, Captivate comes back to the beginning of the video slide… 😞Thank you very very much for your help!Francois

Hi everyone - I've found that all of a sudden, none of my drag and drop interactions are working on iPads. They have always worked on iPads before. I am using HTML5, and the latest IOS on a 2nd-generation iPad Pro. My Captivate version is the 2019 release with all the latest updates. The interactions are working totally fine on desktop PC. There is nothing that unusual about the interactions - they are pretty standard and have always worked before on both iPad and PC.  When I say that the interactions are not working, what I mean is that none of the drag objects can be dragged at all - you just can't pick them up or drag them anywhere. The slide displays fine with all the drag objects in their initial positions but it's as if the interaction is not there.  If anyone has any idea why this might suddenly be happening, or any advice at all to give, that would be very much appreciated.

Despite what Adobe says ...... "As far as Adobe Captivate is concerned, the good news is that this change will probably not affect SCORM 1.2, SCORM 2004 or AICC standards from the content side. However, we have identified possible situations with xAPI content where Adobe Captivate uses these synchronous calls to update the course tracking. It is possible that the course tracking that occurs in the last few seconds, before the student closes the browser tab, do not contact the LMS "..... Hi everyone,My Captivate lesson has variables that increment during the lesson (to check if a user has done a lesson so to tick the lesson on the Main slide if so); it's supposed to be posted on a network and accessed by different users at the same time. I have 2 questions for you gurus :- If a user opens the course while another one is already working on it and has the variables changed, can you confirm the variables will be at their initial state for that second user ?- Is it possible to save the state of the variables for that user, for when he re-opens the course later, the ticks for the lesson he made are still in place ? Thanks a lot !

I have been trying to log into adobe connect for a week...changed My User ID on adobe twice and the adminstrator keeps adding my email and password, but it isn't working. I am losing my mind for a $20 hour job. Anyone have similiar issues?  In the tutorial it said the administrator is supposed to assign a username and password, but they have yet to send me one and keep telling me to sign in with my email...but never give a password. I am tired. 

Hello there,I'm publishing a project in SCORM 2004 and it's supposed to send no user activity data to the platform regarding their quiz scores/attempts and time they spent in the course. I set:- Completion Criteria: Quiz is attempted- Success Criteria disabled- Interaction Data to report disabled- Advanced: Never Send Resume Data- Pass/Fail Options: 0% of total points to passAnd I got a report that the content is still sending “score” and “time-spent” data to the platform.Is there any setting I'm missing on the course level, or this is rather a platform deployment issue?

Hi I've been trying to use this for several days and cant do one simple thing despite trawling through the internet and reading and looking at videos on BUTTONS! I have 3 'speech bubbles' sitting over a pik of a person's head.  I've used 3 smart shapes for the speech bubbles. I've overlayed each shape with a text box. Each smart shape and text box I have grouped,so I have 3 groups.  I have turned the shapes into buttons. When the user clicks on the button I want 'success' to bring up a text box ie group 9 in my slide (which is the answer to the question).  I have programmed 'success' is to 'show' 'group 9'. When I play the slide all the speech bubbles show up AS WELL as the text box (group 9), like, there's no interaction 😞 This is basic stuff right! Why is it so complicated?    .  

I have a simple advanced action where I am showing one smartshape when a clickbox is clicked.  I just want to have an entrance effect (I don't have a custom action created).  The code is below.  The first time it is clicked nothing happens.  The second time it shows as expected.  Can anyone tell me why?

Hi there, i have a progressbar without buttons, which i made in Skin editor. It works for me well. Becouse i use other navigation buttons. I need this bar actualy just to see the progress. But if i click on the flowing bar it stops the Video and navigates me on the project too. Thats also ok. I do not need it, but i won`t say no for some extra navigation option. The only problem is after that it stops the Video and does not play it again with a second click. That makes the experience realy uncomfortable. Does anyone have a solution for this problem? Thx .

Hi I have published a project to HTML5 and loaded it into our LMS. On some slides the audio is not playing and on others there is a delay in the audio statting. I removed the Scaleable html cthinking this could be the issue but its doing the same thing. If I use the TOC to select a topic - I have to click it a good few times before the audio will start to play.  I do have some FMR slides in the project which play fine eventhough the HTML5 tracker advises that they are not supported. Could this be the issue? Any advice will be appreciated. Please advise thanks 

I am  a novice but thought uploading an audio file would be an easy exercise. How wrong I was. I get and error saying  "unable to import the audio file, Ensure that the file tyoe is either MP3 or WAV.Also ensure that the file is not damaged.the file works perfectly on the media player so I do not understand this error.   I have tried opening Captivate to run as administrator but this has made no difference. Any assistance would be much appreciated
