Questions

New user to Captivate here.  Long story short... it appears that I was saving my project to Onedrive and there are naming errors.  I have now read that I should only be saving to my local drive. I will certainly make that correction moving forward.  But now with hours of work in and a demo tomorrow, I'm scrambling.  Is there anyway I can either fix the OneDrive files that are showing errors and fix my project?  Or if I have the zip file from when I published my project to my computer.. can I do anything with that to restore my project in Captivate?  Any other ideas?  Thank you in advance.  

No problem publishing to HTML. Works fine on my U.S. Navy NAVDAC Atlantic notebook computer. But when I email the generated "index.html" file to my coworkers ... they do not see the Software Simulation training ... just a blank screen. We are in a Department of Defense "Secrete environment" so I don't know where or how to publish to a Server. We, of course, have many File Servers and I can create a Directory on any of them, but what files in addition to "index.html" do I need to save to the Server Directory.

Alright last one (hopefully), this time I'm looking for some advice on how to handle play/pause buttons: The goal is to have some slides act as a slideshow that the user can pause and click through manually with back and forth buttons, otherwise, it will play automatically. My idea was to have a set of four buttons, the back and forth buttons being a simple, go to previous/next slide. For the pause/play buttons I tried a simple Pause and Continue action. With the problem that if I pause on slide A and jump to slide B with the next button, the system will not remember that it's supposed to be paused and continue playing. So I tried using the system variable cpCmndPause with a toggle between 1 and 0. However, this doesn't seem to do anything. There must be a simple way to do this, I just can't find anything.

I know that in the regular quiz feature, audio cannot be attached to a text.   Is there any way to create a quiz where users click text, buttons or images and hear something, then sequence the objects?   Eddie

Hello all... Embaressed to have to ask this, but suppose I want the arrow on the right to appear in just about every slide same size and same position.   Is there a way to do this after the fact?   Eddie Landsberg  

Good afternoon,    Captivate 2019 opening video and Assets opens a screen within a screen. I cannot find where anyone else has had this problem and I have been dealing with it for a week now. I have uninstalled, reinstalled, cleared Preferences, Layouts, etc. I am on Windows 10 OS, hooked up to a second montior via HDMI at home during the virus. I have unhooked the monitor and tried but that does nothing. Not to mention that I can't really work in Captivate from just my laptop screen. 

Has anyone ever uploaded an iMovie into Captivate?  The problem is I made a video on my iphone, but my Captivate is on a Dell.  Can this be done?

I am intermittently experiencing a button issue in my published course. For example when using Internet Explorer 11, a single click on the 'Submit' button for a quiz question does not work. It has to be double-clicked. When a single click occurs, the highlight appears around the button and when I double-click, the action of submitting/checking the response is performed. I am required to make my courses ADA compliant and have the 'Enable Accessibility' checked in the 'Publish Settings'. Has this occurred for anyone else? Is there a known workaround so that the user is only required to do a single click?

I have a subscription for Adobe Captivate and when I click on Manage Plan I see a link for Download. When I click it, it takes me to Creative Suite and it is no where to be found and cannot be searched. Need to download Capitvate ASAP on another computer and cannot find the download. It is like it doesn't exist.

I thought I was done with the issues, but here's one more: Most of my slides have a continue button that shows up near the end of the timeline of that slide and stops the timeline. There are two slides however where after reaching this button, the sound from the next slide starts playing. I see my timeline cursor has stopped and I see no visuals from the next slide, so there is nothing that prompts the training to continue to the next slide. The only two elements even reaching the end of the slide's timeline are the continue button and an svg with no actions whatsoever attached to it.The only action on the continue button is "go to next slide" and is the same as in any other slide where this does not occur. Any ideas?

I already made a similar query a while ago, but I still don't figure out a method.I need to send to the platform and learn the value of a variable and save it in the report (interaction ID), but I don't want it to be from a user click going through an action.This is possible or could be done differently

I'm using the latest version of Captivate 2019. I have buttons of round, pill shape, and rectangle buttons throughout my training. I have the show hand active. When I publish the file as Scorm, only the right half of the button is usable. Nothing happens on the left half when I roll over or click. I've noticed most of the non-working buttons are square or round rather than rectangular or oblong.

I am working on a slide that involves a series of questions. The user has to answer Yes or No to the question. there is an image of a child that moves one step further if the user answers  Yes to the question and does not move if answered No. screenshot: I am moving this image by creating a custom motion effect that moves the image one step further. here is the detail in this blog.http://blog.lilybiri.com/how-to-use-custom-effect-in-actions And creating an advanced action to the Yes button that applies that effect and moves it one step further. I achieved this by Lilybiri's answer here.  This works well here is my problem. The menu button in the slide takes the user to the custom Table of content slide. suppose the user in the 8th question which means the image is 8th step forward. if the user goes to the table of the content slide and returns to the same slide, the slide will resume from where it was left off. Hello, I need to make a 5 options spahes with buttons asside, when I press a button it changes the state of the shape. The shapes function is like 3 are good answers and 2 are not. What I want is to show the next button only when the 3 correct buttons are pressed, and if the 2 wrong buttons to not show the next button.Can somebody help me?Thank you

Hi,Is there a way to set the spacing on quiz answers? There is no way to move each quiz answer on a master slide individually. So if I move them on my regular slide to space out the answer choices, if I ever reset master, the spacing goes back to how it was 😞Thanks!  Lori 

I have an issue with Drag and Drop questions not being available. This is the screen I am presented with.I tried adding the C: drive as a trusted location under Global settings, but then I get this error  Any help is appreciated. Thanks

In Captivate 2019 (11.5), I see many Existing Advanced Actions i.e. FLIPCARD02V2 with 3 variables already defined.   What I'm not finding is help on these actions.  For instance, a demo of what they are supposed to do, how to configure them, etc.  Is there any documenation, help text, etc to see what advanced action they perform and how to configure them?  Thanks,IDOLProff

Hey there!My company is hoping to switch from Storyline to Captivate, but I'm having a difficult time pleading the case as I can't get our video files to pull on our LMS or machines.We upload our video files to our POS machines in .webm, and in storyline we have a little bit of .html that we place as a webobjects and it works perfectly. Hi,I have not been able to find the answer to this anywhere so all help will be appreciated. I have been publishing basic slide presentations in Captivate 11.5 and when they display in a browser off an LMS server (HTML 5 / Scorm / Zip Files) previously they published with an option for the user to right-click and copy or download the image in the slide. However, recently published files don't seem to have this option. I can't find the setting for this anywhere. Please see attached screenshots for the two types of menus presented upon a right-click in the browser. I tried it with various browsers and there is no difference. It seems to be a setting in the file itself somewhere. It is also not an accessibility issue because the files that do have the right-click to save images are marked as accessible in Captivate. Any thoughts? Thanks.Tzvi D.

Hi folks, Whenever I preview my project, selecting the Project option, or pressing F4, I get the following message:Swf compilation failed.Note: Please verify if any of the actionscript keywords is used as user variable name. I am running version 2017 - 10.0.2.309 on Windows 10 enterprise.This happens on a new single slide file, and on previously published files. I have no actionscripts in any of the files.Any ideas?

Hello,I pay for a subscription to Captivate 2019 and I am signed into it. However, when I do a Video Demo the exported audio always has the spoken word "trial" embedded in it every 10 seconds or so. My Video Demos are unusable with this element. I am signed in to my version of Captivate. My account is current and Captivate is registered with the same account that I am signed in with. Any suggestions to get rid of the "trial" audio would be appreciated!Thanks! Bob Mack

Hello,  We are using all custom navigation buttons in our eCourse modules. Many thanks to Paul Wilson and Lieve for their posts on how to create custom buttons.The one item that I am unable to create is a scrubbable progress bar that we can add to our interactive video slides - we do not want to use the event video option.  Does anyone have a solution for creating a scrubbable progress bar that we can add to our custom navigation bar - or are you aware of a solution that I can purchase?Many thanks,Cheryl

Approximately how long does it take to create a 20+- minutes learning project (with 15 slides and quiz) in Captivate? Just wondering...
