I am a new user in Captivate 2017. Our unit has created a number of short training videos that we are hosting on YouTube. I am trying to figure out the best way to view those videos in a Captivate module. So far I like using the web object to view the YouTube videos within the Captivate training.  However, I have one problem.  No matter what size I make my web object or the size I use in the embed code, I have a vertical scroll bar on the video.  This means that if people want to see the captions at the bottom of the video, they are missing info at the top. OR if they can see the top of the video, they can't see the captions or YouTube play controls at the bottom. See photo below.Does anyone have any suggestions about what preference or setting or position information I need to change so I don't have this scroll bar?Accessibility is important to me, and all our YouTube videos have captions for those who wish to use them. I've created a 3:30 video using Captivate 2019. Most of the project was done using Captivate's Software Simulation mode. But at the end, I have inserted a 15-second video I created using the software Doodly. When I publish (or preview) the project, immediately before the Doodly video, a loading spinner shows up very briefly. What settings would I need to use when inserting the Doodly video so that the loading spinner does not appear? (I've tried using Progressive and Streaming for the Video Type, but both leave a spinner in when I publish the video.)    

In Captivate 2019 how do you add your own feedback to click boxes or smart shapes used as buttons?I remember making my own feedback captions rather than the ones that are default.We are updating another departments training and they insist on useing the Adobe Red caption type for their incorrect feedback.  For the life of me I can't see how we do that.If I'm remembering correctly the make your own feedbacks were done from the properties tab instead of the questions tab.  I remember doing this back in CP7 and maybe 9.Thank you,Susan

I created a .cptx file in Captivate 11.5.0.476. I moved the file to a stand alown computer and tried to open the file with Captivate 11.0.1.266. I recieved the following: Adobe Captivate - Info...Adobe Captivate could not open "File.cptx", Ensure that:-The file is not open already.-The file is not damaged. For example, if the file was an email attachment, ensure that if you have decoded the file correctly.-The hard disk has sufficient available space.-The system has sufficient resources. To optimize the resources, close all the other open applications.

Hello all, I am trying to leave more space between the top of the skin player and the the top of the browser window. I edit the skin, change colours, adjust the frame, but cannot make the player display a bit lower in the browser. I need to do this as I am importing the published file as a web object in Storyline and I would like the player to be more ceneterdd on my slide. (I tried editing the "index" file and trying to increse the marging in the HTML....but with no success). Any suggestions appreciated. Regards, 

I have a project that has widgets on most slides. They're unique widgets. I want to replace them with HTML5 features. So for now I just want them gone. Is there some way to just say find and delete any widget in this project?

I want to be able to change an object's position using JavaScript. You know that Question %s of %s at the bottom of the page. I can do what it does with System variables and it's hard to edit. But I couldn't delete it. Is there any way to remove it?

We have a customer that has oam files they want used in our Captivate lessons.  When we've brought them into a CP2019 project they just show a graphic but there is no interaction.  Now I'm told it doesn't play from the timeline but when they play it in a browser it works.  SO maybe there isn't a problem.   Any advice on where I can go to learn more about OAM??Thank you,Susan 

Hi,I have just today updated my Windows 10 to build 18363 (and also 18353).Now I got several errors including Adobe Captivate fatal error.I've checked if the errors occur on more than one computer - which is the case. Just so you know.  /Jacob 

Hello!I searched the forum for some time now but I only find 'solved topics' which do not work for me (solutions and ideas were about the video format or autoplay issues in iOS): My problem is basically that I use many mp4 (H264) slide videos in my projects (95% of the slides contain slide videos) and I tested them in every browser to be sure that my projects work everywhere. Unfortunately the videos in my projects do not play on iOS devices (neither iPad nor iPhone, with no browser); all the other elements in the HTML5 Captivate project work. There is a fullscreen "Loading..." information which goes away after about 10 seconds and the slide is displayed, with correct timing and everything else works, beside the slide videos. I tried to convert the video (to .mov) but Captivate tells me that i have to use mp4 videos and that Captivate itself would convert them back to mp4. Nevertheless this did not work. So I do not think that the video format is the problem.Than I tried

Hello everyone, first post here and I am a newbie Captivate developer working on my first project.  I have an issue that I need some help with.  Utilizing the timer widget to countdown and force the amount of time the user needs to spend on each slide: My client wanted to control the minimum amount of time that the user spends on each slide so I have a timer widget on each slide that has it’s duration set (ranging from 5 seconds to 60 seconds).  User cannot go forward until they spend that duration on each slide. RIGHT/FORWARD Arrow to continue to next slide appears as the countdown timer widget disappears (this happens at .2 seconds before the end of the slide duration).  There is a pause set at .2 on the Right arrow.  Left/BACK Arrow is always “active”Issue 1 – (SOLVED) if user goes back 1 slide, the user needs to sit through the timer count down again.  I add a variable and an advanced action to mark the slide as visited which will h

I am having an issue with my published web project not running in Azure App Service. The projectruns fine in Visual Studio and directly through the browser on my local machine but it just has a continous loading icon when trying to view on the Azure app service website. Any ideas?

I am Working on an interactive video in Captivate cc 2019 and loaded it onto my web domain but the video won't play the first few seconds of my intro but then plays the rest and I can interact with it and it plays till the end, how can I fix this?

Hi there, It's my first time trying to create a quiz in Captivate. I created some Question slides which act as a post-test. I want it scored by % and I don't want the user to know whether they got the right answer or not until the reported score is shown at the end. I'm also a classroom instructor. The purpose of using Captivate is that I'll be going around to each workstation in the class and jotting down the score by person. We don't have an LMS. All is good except the question slide doesn't allow me to move forward (after I publish and test it) unless I select the correct answer. Is there a setting that I need to set to allow the student to move past the incorrect answer? It's a multiple choice questionnaire. Any quick help that you can provide would be soooo much appreciated!By the way, I tried the pre-test concept and it didn't seem to score at all.

I have a project that on two slides does not show the text in smart shapes I've used as text captions when the project is played in Chrome.  It is only on two slides.  When the project is played in IE the text is visible.I'm using Captivate 2019.

I'm working on an external script (not an action) that will parse a timed text file to display closed captions in Captivate. It's about halfway finished -- I can parse the file, and load the captions into a <div> I created.  (Yippie!)  The problem is that I want the captions to start automatically when the audio on the timeline plays. Right now the captions start when a new slide loads.  Sometimes, however, our audio doesn't start immediately, so everything gets out of sync.  The Common JavaScript Interface doesn't seem to have anything I can use, so I've resorted to playing with the CMP file, and I'm completely lost.  Can anyone help me get started?  Does anyone know what part of the code controls audio?Thanks,Sharon

Hello,I have heard that a feature in Captivate 5 is that web pages can be embedded directly in a captivate presentation without having to have the link open in a new window outside of the presentation.  I have not been able to find this information in the new release features.  Can someone tell me if this is true?  If it is I may be upgrading my Captivate 4 to Captivate 5 in the near future.Thanks,Amy

I am just wondering if anyone is aware of the needed impreovements to the VR/360 slides in Captivate?At the moment it is basically unusuable as a good user experience using 360 video or panoramas for Elearning.For a start it needs the ability to add layers on top of the 360 layer to have content not effected by the 360 environment such as pop up info, tips, quiz questions, etc.

Hi, I'm in need of captivate assistance.  I've been asked to create a module with a video demo.  I created both the video and recorded the audio.  However, when I try to import the narration into my project from the library, I get nothing. When I preview the project, there is no audio.  I've tried every possible way to no avail.  Has this happened to anyone else?  If so, how did you solve the problem?  Thank you...

Both my consultant and I have Captivate 2016.  When we save a project to a flash drive, give it to the other, they cannot open the file - it gives the standard  "can't open file, damaged, not enough space, etc" message.  Why is a good question but I really need to know how we can get a draft project and share it between us?  There is no budget for additional services like Adobe Connect.  And I don't want to post our content to a open forum.  What am I doing wrong?  Thx

Hi all, I searched the forum and saw similarly titled posts, but none that described my issue.I'll start by saying I'm a new user, so please bear with me. I'm playing with custom captions because I want to use corporate colours in my presentations. To quickly test this functionality I made copies of all five "Adobe Blue" themed captions bitmaps and the associated FCM files. I renamed the bmps to "NewName1" through 5 and renamed the FCM files accordingly. I edited the colour of the copied bmps in a photo editing app, and then saved them. I copied all edited BMP and FCM files to the Gallery\Captions folder, then closed and reopened Captivate. The problem? When I create a text caption and set the Caption Type to my new collection the images I saved do not appear. It looks like a default of some sort is applied instead. The images in the Callout preview below the Caption Type do not look like the images I saved either. All other Caption Types that came with the program apply

Hello,Our quizzes include both a repeat of course slides in which the user must complete a step exactly as taught in the course and two multiple choice questions at the end. Per our customer's requirements, learners must obtain a score of 100% to pass. If they do no pass, they have to repeat the entire quiz and the retake quiz button takes them to the first quiz slide. Many thanks to Liev for helping me display a Return to Course button after 3 failed attempts.    Now the customer changed the requirement. When a learners takes an incorrect action or answers a question incorrectly, they want the learner to returnn to the spot in the course that has the correct answer and then let them return to the quiz action/question that they got wrong to provide the correct action/answer.Does anyone know if this is even possible in Captivate? Thank you,Cheryl

I used .csv files to import questions since the feature was first added.Today, I imported questions using a .csv file for the first time since I upgraded to 11.5.0.476. All of the questions I imported were multiple choice questions with 4 options. After importing, all questions had only 3 options. I had to manually insert the fourth option to each question.Has anyone else experienced this problem? If so, does anyone know why it is happening. I set up the .csv files in the same way I have in the past for all the successful imports I'm completed in the past.Thank you.

I am setting up the table of contents with a folder for each learning topic. Each time I either add a slide or change the name of a slide I have to click the "Reset TOC" button to update the table of content. However, each time I do so my folders disappear and all entries left align again. This is quiet frustrating and time consuming. I'd prefer to set up my table of content as I go with folders since my project requires multiple sections.Can you either have the table of content update automatically or create a button that allows us to update the content but retain the format? Thanks!
