My organization has a subscription for Adobe Captivate (2019). I recently switched computers and in the process of re-insatlling Captivate on my new computer, it keeps prompting me for a Serial Number and won't let me sign in to activate.

Hi All,I noticed there's a slight delay after clicking to continue till the next question shows up. It's small, but the change isn't instantaneous. I noticed learners looking confused as to why the question isn't showing up quick enough after clicking to continue. Any thoughts? Thanks.

Hi. I have a 20 question quiz I’ve built. I only want 10 questions to display so I put in 10 random slides. To test,  I’ve failed the quiz once but on the second attempt I’m presented with those SAME 10 questions. In the same order. I want the quiz to go in and pull additional questions from the 20 for variety. It’s ok for some of the questions to be presented again but i would like to not have all of the same questions presented as they were on the first attempt. Please help!

Hello! I'm working on a training and am running into a roadblock with an idea I have. On a single slide, I'm wanting to have videos that are hidden until the user presses a button. I want these videos to show up on the same slide as where the button is. This far in the idea, I'm not having trouble. However, I am having trouble adding a "close" button for the video. Specifically, I'm finding that whether using a traditional button or shape-button, when using multi-states, the buttons/shapes are locked to the exact same position. I'd like to have the "normal" state of the close button to be off screen and then the second state (when the video is playing), be near the top right corner of the video (when not in full-screen mode). Is this a possibility with Captivate? I'm debating purchasing the software, but first I was wondering if there is a quiz feature that allows the user to be interactive with a grid/graph?I'd like to have a 13x13 grid and the user would input different values into the grid.  After inputting all of the values, the program would let the user know which inputs are correct and which are wrong.  Is this possible?Essentially it would look something like this:1  2  3  4  5  6  7  8  9 2  x3          y45                 y6      x 78                 z9Where x, y, and z are the user inputs to be graded afterwards.Thanks in advance for the help!

Hi,I am using Captivate Windows version on a MacBook(Parallels). I think this is about the firewall issue. Even though I click on these buttons, It doesn't open the localhost to show me the preview. I also reset the preferences in the utils folder.   

Hi,I'm working on a pretty simple conversion in Captivate but am getting stuck with some of the navigation issues. Please see the attached screenshot where the next & previous buttons (the only two they want) are spread out across the navigation bar.  Is there an option to left or right align these?On a related note, I can't find a way to turn off the TOC button.  The double arrow at the top right is enough, is there a way to remove the TOC button from the navigation bar?  TYVM for your feedback!! 

Hello! I have a quiz question that requires the learner to analyze an image. I'd like to set it up so that the learner can click a thumnail on the quiz question slide that shows them the larger image right in the course. I've got everything working correctly *except* that the quiz question, the responses, and the submit button all display on top, no matter what. Is there a way to adjust this display approach? Thank you!

We've created a Captivate module that has two singular questions peppered throughout the first part of the module. The learner had to answer the question correctly before advancing. Code was written that after the leaner advanced to the next slide, upon returning to the question slide (through NAV from TOC) they would see text that informed them that they could not reanswer the question. Upon returning to either of these first two questions, the previously selected answer (checked box) is apparent. A next button appears above the submit button with comment text and they could advance to the next screen. However, at the end of the module, we have 8 questions in succession, followed immediately by the scoring slide indicating they had passed the questions and could advance. Upon advancing, then selecting the TOC and navigating back to question 1 of 8, the answers are no longer displayed and, having passed onto the next slides, the comment text and next button now also appear. Hello!  In order to collaborate with colleagues, I've been using the print - storyboard - publish feature frequently and then e-mailing that Word file.  However, I find that this view is too detailed.  Is it possible to adjust the settings so it just shows the slides and Text Captions or whatever else I see as important?  For instance, could I turn "off" it itemizing every button or click box?Any help would be GREATLY appreciated.

Es soll in einem Projekt eine Indexseite mit den Links zu den einzelnen Elementen erstellt werden. Dieses Textfeld sollte mit einem Scrollbalken ausgestattet sein. Grund hierfür ist die sich noch stetig erweiternde Anzahl an Elementen. Zur Lösung dieses Problems habe ich bereits ein Flash-Widget gefunden. Der Export ist aber bei diesem Projekt nur in HTML5 vorgesehen und das Projekt soll über Jahre auf dem Server bestehen. Flash scheidet deshalb aus, weil es dieses Jahr ausläuft.Nun zu meiner Frage: Gibt es eine Möglichkeit Scrollbare Textfelder in Captivate 2017 oder 2019 zu erstellen die nicht auf Flash basieren? Idealerweise sogar ein fertiges Widget auf HTML5 Basis? Danke schonmal für die Antworten.

Hi, We are just getting round to using knowledge checks and quizzes in Captivate to use in an LMS, which we have been pretty successful with. However, there seems to be a hidden button on the knowledge check question slide, which sits just below the Submit button, so if accidentally pressed, it goes back to the last slide visited.I have checked the slide deck, and the master slides and nothing is there. Just wondering if anyone has seem this before. Thanks Paul

The default template for printing Storyboards in Captivate is pretty close to what I need.The change I need is on the individual slide listings pages to display the Slide Notes between the Properties and Objects listing.Example Storyboard template Slide Listing :Slide1Properties:Slide Notes:Objects:What do I put in the Storyboard.doc template to have the Slide Notes list where I want them?Thank you for any help.

Hello, when I open Assets there are no characters and when I am trying to download some I am not see any download progress.  How come I don't already have characters and how can I get some? 

I am only using play and back buttons. So I wanted the playbar to overlay the slides. But selecting "Playbar Overlay" makes no difference. In the preview, it overlays. But the preview to devices or in a browser does not overlay the player.I am using Captivate 2019. In the skin editor I have the following:Skin: Club (Modified)Playbar: MobilePlaybarFor background, I turned the alpha to 0% to it is transparent.Also, in the skin editor preview, the back button is right next to the play button on the bottom left. But when actually published, the back button is way over in the lowe right corner.

Hi everyone,I'm using CP9. I figured out how to add a drag and drop (D&D) to my quiz. And I know that it is counting it as my other quiz slides (templates I altered that already had a counter in them) have these page counters applied to them:I would like to add it to my D&D slides in the quiz, but can't find any option to do so.Does anyone know how to add this Progress Indicator in question slides to D&D slides I've added to a quiz?Thanks,Dan

I am using the most recent version of Captivate 2019 and OSX system ver. 10.13.6 (High Sierra) and when I paste text into the Speech Management windo and then Generate Audio the program freezes HARD and I have to do a force quit. I then have to restart my computer to get Captivate to open again. I have tried copying and pasting from a MS Word document and a totall stripped file in the text editor with no success. Does anyone have any idea how to deal with this?

Hi Captivate community!I have a mysterious TOC-problem. When the user is going through the slides the "navigate visited slides only" is working correctly. But after exiting and resuming the elearning, the scorm-project doesn't "remember" all the visited slides. After the user has finished the eLearning and open the scorm again, about 1/4 of the slides from the end aren't ticked (these slides are shown as not visited). BTW, the course is marked correctly as complete after the user has reached the last slide. I'm using Scorm Cloud for testing.Any ideas, what could be wrong?Thanks for your support!- G y a n

Hi Guys, I am currently working on a Quiz in Captivate 2017 that has MC and T/F Question Slides that pulls random questions from 8 question pools. My problem is on the MC slides there are partial answers. I know by default there is a variable that talks about enabling partial scoring and it is set to 0. What can I do to enable scoring on these slides ? I also have partial correct hint messages but they will not appear until partial scoring is enabled. This is causing some issues with my upper management as a partial score does not bring up any hints like they do for correct or incorrect answers. I have been trying to fix this for weeks and I am coming up on a deadline. I have been searching and all I ever find is how to do this in older versions of captivate but I cannot find the setting in 2017. Also my GIFT File looks like::question{     ~%50% Answer A     ~%50% Answer B     ~%-50%Answer C     ~%-50%Asnwer D}

I have written some code that is activated upon the clicking of a 'submit' button through Execute Javascript. The window.cpAPIInterface.getVariableValue function does not seem to be working. The text entry box has a variable value 'Feedback_Input_Text'. What am I doing wrong? The basic email is sending, with just a normal piece of text, and with: var InputText = "Some Text". But I cannot extract the text entry text. Please help. HiIs their any "easy" way to add a contact form in my course. I found some old solutions but are their any new ones today? Could I use a Iframe togehter with PHP or do Captivate 9 have som built in solution?Thanx

Hi, I am using captivate 2019 and export my course in HTML5. It runs on all browsers perfectly. It runs on iPhone but there is no audio. I tried my best to solve this problem. Is there anyone who can help me in this regard. I really appriciate that. 

HelloI can`t open a .cptx file.Previously I used the trial version and now I have a license. the message:Adobe Captivate could not open-The file in not open already.-The file is not damaged. For example, if the file was an email attachment, ensure that you have decoded the file correctly,-The hard disk has sufficient available space.-The system has sufficient resources. To optimize the resources, close all the other open applications. What to do ? 

Hi all, Is it possible for a 360 video to continue playing after a user has clicked on a hotspot and then closed it (by either submitting an answer to a question or closing a text box etc). At present the user has to either click the play button at the bottom of the screen to continue playing the video or if viewing using VR goggles needs to click on the 4 squares and bring up the navigation controls. This seems clunky and takes the user out of the experience in my opinion. Any advice welcome!
