I need buy Adobe Captivate 2019   [Message split from unrelated post in the Acrobat forum. -Mod.]

Hi,​I​ work for a med communications company called Obsidian Healthcare Group in the UK and we have just started producing eLearning for our clients. It is a new service for us as we have previously been producing training in PPT.​​It appears quite quickly there will be more work than I can handle so I am looking for Captivate freelancers to work with as and when required.​​The process at the moment is our teams send me a PPT with the content and questions listed and I work from that to produce the eLearning. I have only been working with Captivate for about 5 months and have had some training so I'd describe myself as a decent beginner.The eLearning we are creating is only to an intermediate level so we would be interested in someone able to create more advanced eLearning.​​Can you please reply with your hourly and daily rate and availability and location.​​Thanks​​Jason Marsh

In a drag and drop interaction window, there's the interaction title, then Select, Mark As, and Add To. What is the Select for? On my drag sources, this is blank, but the drag targets show the target name. One of my drag sources shows a value here though, and I can't get rid of it. It's common for my entire interaction to work fine in Preview but not work in Publish mode because while the tool recognizes what drop sources are (my cursor turns into a hand over them), I can't move them 99% of the time. Once in a blue moon one will move. I can't find troubleshooting on this.

I am loading a 360 degree video generated from captivate in webview in Android. When I enter VR mode, the right half of the VR mode gets cut. Kindly refer Image 1.  After this when I go in background mode and resume the app again then the VR video is loaded properly. Kindly refer Image 2. In iOS it is working fine but I think this issue still persists for Android. Kindly help. Thanks in advance. Update:I forgot to mention 1 thing about this is that earlier when I kept the width and height of webview as same as device screen width and height (resolution of phone greater than full HD), the video was rendering properly at the first time but then the problem was that in VR mode it didn't look as one video in cardboard. It looked like there was some distortion and video was in 2 parts, simply speaking I can see 2 dots at the center instead of one. So I started reducing the width of the webview until it fixed this issue, which comes to around 1920. I'm using Captivate 9. I've searched everywhere an I'm not getting the answer I need. Please help. I have to build a stand-alone HTML5 captivate course. I can publish it just fine and run it on my computer when I publish from "Publish to My Computer", with just the HTML5. (I've also checked my HTML5 tracker and thre isn't any SWFs within this at all becasue I built it from scratch with HTML5 format base in mind from the start). When I select the index.html file to run the course on a local host it lags a lot. I've tried previewing it in the preview mode as a "HTML5 Browser" and copying and pasting the link from there it runs great. Will I be able to deliver it to my client like that where they copy and paste the link once they down load the file onto their desktop or does the path break once they do that? If not how do you do a HTML5 stand-alone course that will run on a client machine without the lag from the index.file? (You can't use an EXE or a PDF either because that is SWF based

Exploring Captivate for a specific project that requires a base video presentation (slide video A) with overlays along time line that will pause A, show video (object video B), and when (B) is exited, return to (A) and resume from Pause. Having issues closing (B) and resuming (A) via Advanced actions and a button (for user to clear (B) without watching.  Currently on a trial version.. any feedback welcome. 

Single objects can be hidden using advanced actions but not groups. Is there any way to do this in captivate 9 ? For Example:Cp. show()Cp. hide ()This does not work for groups.

Hello,I have a D&D interaction with 12 drag sources and 12 drop targets. After the learner drags everything and clicks Submit, my client wants only incorrect drag sources to return to their original position so the learner can try again. He wants the correct ones to stay where they are. I can make all sources return to their original positions, but I haven't been able to get only the incorrect ones to return. I've looked all over for a solution and haven't found one, but I'm hoping someone will know of something I've overlooked 🙂Thanks in advance--Kathryn

I am using image filled shapes as buttons.  If I temporarily hover my mouse over the button before clicking on it , the button turns brown.  Once I click, the image re-appears and the proper effect is applied. But this temporary disapearence is still disconcerting.  What setting should I be looking for to try to rectify this problem.  

First time generating a responsive course with Captivate. I'm struck by how the text looks different in size and in font when I click the project preview button. And I'm talking about at full desktop/regular size, not at a smaller resolution. In preview, the fonts almost looks like a different font family altogether, and the position/size is off. When I publish to Scorm Cloud, it looks much closer, but still not the right size at all, it's off by at least 20-30 points. I am using simple fonts like Arial and Times New Roman. It looks like it's rendered crisper in Scorm Cloud window (which is fine) but i would like it to match the same size as what I see on the Captivate stage (obviously, I expect the size to change when I resize the window, but that's not the issue). I've tried adjusting all sorts of fluid box settings and font sizes. I'm probably missing something, so any help or suggestions would be appreciated.  Thanks

I accidentally deleted 2 slides (when I was trying to learn something new i ...) and because Im always  saving - I noticed it too late 😞Is there a way to recover them?

My SME recorded a video for me in portrait mode. The dimensions are 1080x1920. CP imports it sideways so that it's 1920x1080. If I change the height to 720 the width will be 1280 (logicly) it still appears sideways on the filmstrip           When I preview it in HTML5 in browser it appears upright in portrait, scaled to 405x720 which is actually how I need it.I had to do the math to get the blue smartshape background the right size but it worked. Does anyone know why this happens? Is it a bug or is it a browser thing? Since it plays the way I want it responses arn't urgent but if there is a way to make it look the same in the filmstrip as in the browser I would love to know for future reference.Thanks!

Hi All, I am creating knowledge check questions and there seems to be a little big of lag time between clicking submit and the next action to move to the next slide. Is there a way to cut down the lag time it last for around 5 to 7 secs.? Anyone else experience this?

Hello!I have the latest version of Captivate.I need to create a single button that plays and pauses the current slide.The information I am finding online is for older versions, and I can't get those tutorials to work properly.Here is what I need to happen: The Play/Pause button itself should start off in the "Pause" state, because the slide itself will begin playing automatically. When the user clicks this pause button, the image of the button changes to a "play" button and pauses the video. When the user clicks the "play" button, the image of the button changes to the "pause" icon once again and the video resumes playing, this play/pause cycle can happen an infinite number of times.I know how to create button states, and I've done some work creating advanced actions. Can someone steer me in the right direction? Where do I find the installer for captivate 2017 to take it to 10.0.2.30X.  I have installed update 1 but I cannot find update 2.   thanks

Hi, I have added a Video, and I like to give the option to go to next slide before the end of the video, but if I do so - the video keep playing in the backgroundhow can i stop the video once  i click on the "next" button?

I have noticed when publishing html5 scorm packages in our LMS and employees take our training all of the matching questions text boxes fade out. Has anybody noticed this too? All of my projects text boxes, objects, slide settings are always set to no transition. Any suggestions would be appreciated!

Hi guys, I just bought a new USB camera.  It's working great with everything except Captivate.  When I'm getting ready to do a Video Demo, the "USB Live Camera" shows up as an option for the webcam.  When I select it, the input changes, but presents only a black screen.  The light on the camera indicating that it's in use is not illuminated.  It appears that choosing the camera as the input, is changing the input in Captivate correctly, but not telling the camera to turn on. Has anyone else come across this issue and determined a solution?  There doesn't seem to be anything in the preferences either for the operating system or the program to resolve it.  I hope I'm just missing it. I'm using a Mac on the Catalina operating system. Thanks in advance for your help,Christopher.

Trying to post to YouTube and getting this error

Hi All,Thanks to all of you and your help.I need to add a certificate at the end of a project, but the certificate needs to be shown after a score of 1500 is hit and all 5 screens have been reviewed.  It is like a one column Jeopardy game, where there is 5 questions on the game board and the score is added up and is shown on the game board slide.  They will receive a certificate only after all 5 questions have been answers (right or wrong) and a score is 1500.Any ideas?Thanks so much.

I'd like to brand courses based on user. I'm under the impression I'll need to work with the 'cpQuizInfoStudentID' variable to accomplish this.For now I'm just trying to get the variable to display. I made a text caption with $$cpQuizInfoStudentID$$ but I can't seem to get it to display any value. Any reason why? Do I need to do something specific to get that value into the course? Do I actually need to complete a quiz before this variable is populated in captivate?I've tried publishing this course in cap. 8, Uploaded it to scormcloud via my LMS api. I lauch from my LMS but it's just blank in text caption where $$cpQuizInfoStudentID$$ should be.

I've had many issues with loading and running Captivate 2017 on Catalina. I notice that there is a new release of 2019 that will get that version of Captivate running on this OS. Will there be an update to 2017?Thanks

I have published an html5 scorm package to our LMS. Users are not able to arrange sequence quiz slides textboxes on Ipads. Does anybody have suggestions why this might be happening? These seqeunce questions have worked before seamlessly. The user are able to click on the text box and it would be highlighted but they are unable to move them.  

Hi all, I am a bit green when it comes to variables and advanced actions and have pretty much taught myself through searching for videos and forums.I am not sure if this is easier than I think, and maybe I'm overthinking it.  I have two buttons that I would like to use to toggle between 8 different states of an object (almost like a forward and back button) but for states instead of slides.Is this easier than I think?Any help would be greatly appreciated!
