Questions

It is to my understanding that screen readers (e.g., JAWS, NVDA) will read elements (once published in HTML) in the order in which each element was created in the Captivate file. For example purposes, say I created three elements on a slide and named them Element A, Element B, and Element C. If I created Element B first, then C, then A, the screen reader will read the elements in the order of B, C, A. But if I wanted the screen reader to read them in the order of A, B, C is there any way to do this without having to redo the slide and create the elements in the precise A, B, C order?

I built a non-responsive course in Captivate 2019 that includes several advanced actions and three short MP4 videos. I published it to HTML5 and uploaded the SCORM package to my SumTotal LMS. It plays perfectly in Chrome, but in IE, 75% of learners are experiencing issues: many pages take a long time to load, some images and shapes don't display, and even after viewing the whole project and achieving a passing score on the quiz, the course doesn't mark complete. SumTotal was able to replicate the issues and concluded that "the course was not built for IE 11". They suggested I "rebuild the course for IE 11". I'm lost. Does anyone have insight for me?

Hiya, daft question,  When I try to hold down the spacebar to pan around my slide, instead of the hand tool appearing, the timeline plays. I don't know what I've done to make this happen. At the moment, the only way I can move about the sldie when I'm zoomed in is by using the scroll bars, which is a bit annoying. Any ideas what might be causing this? Thanks!  

Hi, Captivate folks I got a new problem regarding question pool. I have design and set up the master slide to apply on all question pool but it can be applied on the first question, not all. Try to find out how to apply it all on community and youtube but no relevant issue can be found (maybe I searched for incorrect information). Is there any way for me to apply the master slide to ALL question pool without having to re-insert and make question pools again. As we do not want to output our texts as images in Captivate, I use an empty variable. This works very well, but there are some problemes I am not able to solve. The HTML5 output shows me a completely different result (spacing is diffetent, font is cut off at Ä, Ü, Ö, ...) than in Captivate itself. How can I prevent Captivate from cutting off the font at Ä, Ü, Ö in HTML output?How can I prevent Captivate from moving text with a variable inside a smartfrom in x and y position?

I am in the process of converting some old SWF based Captivate projects into HTML5. The deployment is a SCORM baseed LMS. All materials are converted via Animate into OAM and updated to Captivate 2019 projects. When they are published in to HTML with SCORM setting on Report section (I selected AICC) they worked fine on desktop computers both MS Windows and Apple Mac. Yet when I tried to play them on mobile devices, I keep getting the error "This content type cannot be viewed through mobile devices" on both Android and iOS phones. Can someone help me to clarify what is wrong and how to fix this issue please. I have updated Captivate to 11.5.1.499

I sure could use an easy set of playbar skins that can be attached to a specific video or interactive video (Youtube/Vimeo) which is not connected to the project play bar. Play bar with play/pause/ rewind/CC/slider etc. Just drag it out onto video or audio and the play bar attaches to that particular video withoutreferencing the project playbar.  Thanks.  

Newbie kind of question.  I'm dropping a simple Youtube video onto a single slide followed by a couple content slides and a Quiz on 10 subsequent slides.  How do I get the video playback controls on just the video slide for the video and not the rest of the slides through the whole project?  Secondly, is there a way to simply add a text box with automatic scroll bar?Thanks

Hi all - I started a new 360-project with an image on the first slide with the idea to add a KC quiz. As soon as I did this, many of the menu items became greyed out. I cannot insert a new slide nor add a quiz. I restarted the machine with no difference at all. Here is a screen shot.  Any suggestions/remedies? Any advise will be appreciated. Regards Peter

Hello, I published my final finished work to my content server to a published folder and it runs. After I published, I did a last save to to my content server in my cptx folder. Unfortunately, that last save corrupt my file and I can't open my project file to make edits. I have a working version that doe not have the assets, animations, and finished configurations I tweaked. I don't want to have to redo all the final tweaks, but would rather use my latest version to make the additional modifications. I already checked my cache and unfortunately I cleared it. I checked with my server engineer to roll back to last save, and it wasn't the version I needed, still a bunch of missing final work. Is it possible to take the published file and convert it or open up as a project? So that I can save it properly and make my edits?Your help is greatly appreciated!

Hi to all my properties panel does no display entirely the "Style" content !! it only displays "Shadows and reflection"So i am unable to edit any text...I have to re-boot the PC and that seems to solve the problem... I use Captivate 2019i7 8th generation processor16 GB of Ram Thanks for your time Vince

I've got a Youtube video I pulled in Captivate 2019 update 2.  I added a quiz question then duplicatedit 8x for Multiple choice questions with Results slide.  When I got to "insert overlay" on the videoI get an error message saying "There must be slides in the project that can be used for overlay"  Why won't it accept my set of Quiz questions for that? Thanks!

I read in an eLearning article that you are able to upload PowerPoint slides to Adobe Captivate Draft -However, I am unable to figure out how to do this.Does anyone know if this is possible and if so how to do it??Thanks in advanceGBW

I have a presentation that has a few .mp4 videos that play automatically on the timeline. When export my complete presentation as a .mp4 format the inserted video's pause at the start and display the buffer icon just for a couple of seconds before playing correctly. Any ideas on why this could be happening?

Hi, new to Captivate (9) and I want to change the quiz Submit button and accompanying 'click y to continue...' text to Next and click the next button to continue. I change it in quiz preferences and it Sticks there but it does not display on my playback of the published project. Any idea what I am doing wrong?

Hello. I am using the Alliance template in Captivate. I swaped out the orginal images with my own. Whenever I preveiw the project, the images are displaying as a red box. Has anyone experience this? please advise. Screenshots below.   This is the project: This is the preview:

Hello all,  I am using the image assets that come with Adobe Captivate 2019 but when I play the slide or publish as an MP4 the images become red boxes. By reading posts, I have learned that the red boxes are created when the images are too large but I am slightly confused. Why would Adobe provide images that would cause an issue when publishing? How have you mitigated this issue? Any insights would be helpful.  Thanks, Melissa

Hi,I have tried to figure this out over the past two weeks, but I just haven't been able to. (FYI: I have the newest version of Captivate) Here it goes: Layout:I have 3 buttons on the screen that you HAVE to click and then the next button appear. The learner can click any of the buttons more than once and in any order, but when they click the third button, the next button should appear. (When the learner clicks on one of the 3 buttons something else shows and hides on the screen, but I have left it out of this conversation.) My varibles and actions:Varibles:1) I have a varible for the next button. It starts at 0 and when it hits 3 it appears. 2) I have a varible for each of the 3 buttons on the screen. The first time you click it, it increments the next_button_varible. Hi,I am new to captivate and I am working on my first captivate course. It is a simple video that auto plays. Upon testing my client noted that the course had some functionality problems. They mention 2 issues.... 1. Play, Rewind, backward, forward, and 4x are not responding to keyboard commands.2. Volume adjustment is not responding to keyboard commands.  I'm searching through tutorials and I found several about adding user controls for play buttons and volume control but nothing about keyboard commands. Can we open mp4 files in Captivate 2019 and it will convert audio to text? Plesae respond asap. 

NOTE: As of Captivate (2019 release) Update 4, this issues has been fixed. Please see the release notes. Adobe Captivate performs slower than expected on Mac Retina High Resolution displays, for examples, iMac 4K/5K. We are working on fixing this issue and meanwhile, as a work-around, run Captivate in a lower resolution. Perform the steps below 1. Right-click the Adobe Captivate app and click Get Info. 2. Enable the option Open in Low Resolution. 3. Restart Adobe Captivate and open the project.  

I'm new to the whole Captivate thing. I'm trying to create an easy "paper doll" interactive where you can change the shirt, pants and shoes with two accessories that go in hands (I'm creating it for my boss to see if we can use it in our eLearning.) I watched tutorials from the expert on drag and drop but the tutorial only had one drop state whereas I have 5. Two only allow one image (one hand each gets an accessory) , two drop states allow 3 images (one for pants, the other for shirts), and one drop state allows 2 images (the shoes). Under Actions, I have "on accept" set to "replace" for everything except the two drop states that only allow one image. When I preview the scene, I can drag over one shirt but none of the others will replace the first one, same goes for the pants and shoes. I included a video. I am not sure where I am going wrong. Do I have too many drop targets? Have I set them up incorrectly? The shoes worked before (could switch between them) and then stopped working w

I am using fluid boxes and have images and text captions set to Fade In Only.  When I had a couple of images and one text caption it worked fine but as I add more text captions and then attempt to play the preview from that slide the stage goes white except for the two images.  I'm not sure what other information needed to assist me but thought I would check to see if this is a known issue. Thank you

Hello,we've got a number of WBTs that were created in CP 2017 as responsive projects. So we've got each item on the slides 3 times (=3 different slide layouts for 3 different output sizes). As we are reworking these WBTs, we're correcting the text on the our main slide layout (typing into the various textboxes there).Now we need to make sure that all these changes will be visible on all 3 layouts (i.e. all 3 output sizes). Unfortunately the two ways I've found so far how to do it*), are to manually touch every single text box.This is not only time consuming but also very error-prone 😞 MY QUESTION: Is there a way like "transfer all text content from the first size-layout to all the other size-layouts"? 🙂If so, please give me good description how to find it (notice: my CP-menues are in German, so I'd appreciate reading the full click-path for successful retracing, thanks) *) This are the two manual options I've found so far:a) either right-click on the
