Hello,I created a quiz with Captivate 9. When publishing the quiz to HTML5, the failure messages (and correct / retry messages as well) are not displayed correctly. They seem to be arranged "behind" e.g. dropdown boxes. Sometimes the look gets quite weird. In case of large text entry boxes, the messages sometimes are not even readeable because the are displayed behind the text entry box.I could not find out how the set the failure captures in the foreground. Can you help me with this?I attached a screenshot, so you get an impression of the problem.Thank you very much for your help!

Anyone else have issues with SVGs and Internet Explorer?I'm not sure why this is happening, but in Windows with IE11, when I load my Captivate 2019 SCORM 1.2 ZIP to SCORM cloud, the SVGs don't show up. All Mac browsers and every other browser on Windows is fine. I can't use JPGs or PNGs for a few of these things.This is just one example on one page, but the whole project is like this, all SVGs arent show up. Windows IE 11 on SCORM cloud:Windows IE 11 locally:Windows Chrome (But also shows up on Mac/Safari/ChromeFirefox/etc):One time it randomly worked, I have not been able to recreate the situation. We want to make video based training in HTML5 with a menu, and keyword search within the videos from a transcript so you can go to that point in the video. Can Captivate do this?

I have a sequence knowledge check slide that I want to display custom success/failure messages on. They are the same messages shown on other knowledge check slides, like multiple choice, true false, etc. The issue is that when I run the action to display the appropriate message, the sequence steps are on TOP of the message. I cannot find a way to reorder it so the message is on top, or hide the sequence steps. Any suggestions? I am using Captivate 2019. Thanks!

Hi guys,Just a question if I may that I hope someone can help out with...I am currently building an responsive e-learning package designed to be used on various platformsfrom laptops to various mobile devices such as iPads etc.As I am using Breakpoint views in Captivate, I have one display for desktop which has a resolutionof 1024 x 768 and a tablet view of 896 x 505 (which I would have though would be the view that you would get in an iPad, one of the devices that we have quite a few of in our organisation.I have done a test SCORM package of the first module and uploaded it to our LMS (which is Totarabased) and then viewed this on my laptop through Internet Explorer which looks absolutely fine as it is 1024 x 768 etc.It still looks fine on a Samsung Galaxy S6 as I done a breakpoint view for this as well.BUT..... when I tested this on an iPad, it looks like instead of it showing the tablet view of 896 x 505, it showsthe desktop view of 1024 x 768 resolution so that the bottom navigatio

I have created a project in Captivate 2019 that has a random submit button. It is no where to be found on the timeline, and I have no features on the project that have any sort of button. It is a one slide project so it cannot be from another slide. When previewing in HTML, the submit button does not appear. However, on export, it does appear. Please help. Again I have already combed through the timeline to no avail. I have also tried the trick of coping the slides contents and pasting it into another slide on a different project to see if it would appear in the timeline, but it has not.Thanks for the help.

I am experiencing the dreaded and unhelpful "Publish Failed" error message as well. I receive the message only when I am publishing a project with a quiz; projects without quizzes publish without any issue. I am publishing only to SWF output. I am running the latest build of Captivate: 6.1.0.319. I'm running a MacBook Pro Retina on OSX 10.8.5. Reading through similar previous threads, I saw mention of a file named "Default.html" to be found in ../Publish/SCORM/Default/1_2. But the file I find residing there is named "Default_HTML5.html". I don't know if this makes any difference. I have deleted the plist file as well. Still no joy. Please, I am open to any suggestions. Thanks in advance.

Hello!I'm in the process of republishing projects that I've previously done just as MP4s to SCORM 2004 projects so we can upload to our new LMS. I've noticed that I seem to have audio issues in the SCORM package that I did not have in the MP4 version. Currently, my audio is attached to objects instead of the slide. All of my objects go to the end of the slide, but when I publish to HTML5, it seems like my audio gets shorted and I lose content before the slide ends. I've tried lengthening the audio clip by adding additional silence at the end, but that hasn't helped. I could try moving the audio to the slide instead, but I have lots of projects so that would take me some time to do. Anyone else either experience that issue or know what I can do to fix it?

I recently purchased a computer with enough internal memory to download captivate. The steps I reviewed mentioned an activation code I should have recieved.I have searched my emails unsuccessfully.How can I request another activation code?I currently pay a monthly subscription of $29.99 that regenerates each month. I'm relatively new to Captivate and am having trouble with a software recording.  The slide plays straight into the movement that I recorded, but I need it to pause a moment so that I can put a text box on the screen for learners to read before the slide plays.  I can't work out how to do this; I've tried adding a variable to the text box but pause doesn't seem to be an option here.  I have also found that I can pause the slide on entering, but I can't work out how to then unpause it after X number of seconds.  I've searched for help, watched multiple videos, but none seem to provide the answer.I used to use Active Presenter, which allowed me to simply 'insert time' into the slide, which meant the recording just paused where it was until it caught up with itself.Thank you in advance,Jo

I have one local video on a slide, and two overlay slides with a knowledge check question on each. On success of each question I'm running an advanced action to assign a value to a variable and then continuing. On failure, I have "continue" selected as Last Attempt action. When I preview the course, the video plays and shows the first overlay with the first knowledge check question, but regardless of whether I get the question right or wrong, the screen freezes and doesn't continue. Any suggestions what could cause this? I'm using Captivate 2019. Thanks!Edited to add: sometimes the overlays don't show at all - the video pauses but nothing happens.

I am working in Captivate 9, roughly every other time I try to save as I work I get an error saying:"Unable to save the project to C:\gives folder location You do not have permission to save to this location.  Please check your security privileges or try saving to a different location."It does this for older version files and newly created.  I can go to another location and "save as" a new version of the file, and then try to save while I work and it will again give this error for the new location.I do have admin privileges on this computer.  Any ideas on how to fix this?

I'm attempting to create a sort of menu slide in my Captivate project, where users will select the chapter they want to learn about and it will take them to an informational video. Then, on that video slide, I have a button linked back to the menu slide so they can select another chapter. I'm also hoping to incorporate an advanced action with that button that will show the chapter with a green check mark next to it on the menu slide. Here's the thing: I want the check marks from previously completed chapters to appear when they return to the menu screen even after the second or third chapter. I can think of a way to do this that assumes an order of learning, but I would prefer to see if there's a way to lock the changed state once it's been clicked, which would allow users to go in any order they wanted. my adobe captivate 2019 course is set up with 5 attempts but when there is a fail answering quiz questions the course does not move to completion in order to retake the entire course. What settings are needed to make this work?

With the demise of Flash, I have been tasked with finding a way to convert a reasonably large number of complex interactive flash animations, built with a lot of action script and ran as SWF files embedded into published SWF Captivate projects, into a purely HTML5 format. Clearly, I can't just export the project as MTML5 since the swf elements would be incompatible. I have tried importing them into Adobe Animate, but the conversion process goes wrong and breaks the animations so that, for example, screens that would be seen when the user clicks on a button (and there are quite a lot of them) just cycle around without any way to stop them. I am not a programmer and never learnt ActionScript and as yet I have not learnt how to use Adobe Animate, although I am willing to give it a go, IF I can be sure that the effort of learning the package will result in my being able to get all the animations working and hopefully won't have to rebuild them from scratch. Hi.I'm not able to get the insallation of Captvate2019 done on Win10.As soon as I started the Setup and loged into my acount the screen just wents "white" and freezes. I see in the TaskManager that it's still active but literally doing nothing. (I waited 2h). I'm sitting behind a Proxy, have admin-rights, and unfortunately cannot deactivate some programs, as mentioned in the docs, because of restrictions in our Company.Perhaps someone has an idea or had same issues.Thanks.

My organization is in the process of converting our existing SWF files to html5. I have a file that has been published to Saba LMS and the widgets work fine. When I tried to publish to the PeopleSoft ELM, the same widgets that work in Saba are not working in ELM. Any ideas why and how I can get them to work in ELM?

I started a free trial, but I can't figure out how to open it and start a project. I received the email saying my trial has started but there is no link or anything. How do I proceed?? What page am I supposed to be on to start a project?

Hello, I have been exploring Captivates new VR feature. However, when I create a Virtual Reality Project, I do not have the "Add 360 Image/Video" button or gridlines that appear on the slide. Has anyone else experienced this issue? And if so, do you know how to get this button to appear so that 360 media can be added correctly to the project?Thanks!

I have a help button at the top of all my pages (created on slide 1 and then timing set to Rest of Project). In the rollover state I have a text box which I want to display two variables, the learner's name, and different help text depending on which page the user is on. I'm using advanced actions to update this second help text variable whenever it needs to change. The issue is that even though the box is large enough, it never displays all the text.Here is the rollover state which includes a text caption of both variables.Here are the two different outputs which cut off both assistantMessage variables. Any suggestions on why this would be happening? I'm using Captivate 2019. Thanks!

I want to create a drag and drop interaction where the drag source is a group with a text box and image, but when I select the group and click next, I get an error that I must select at least one item to proceed. I don’t want the drag source to be just text, or just an image. Is there a workaround for this? I know this is possible in Storyline, but I’m hoping Captivate has similar functionality. I’m using Captivate 2019. Thanks!

I've made a redo button for this Read and Select template because it didn't have the option to do anything when you either got the question right or wrong. So now if the wrong answer is chosen the button will appear, when clicked, it will show the question in its unanswered state so you can try again. But it doesn't go away after that. I tried adding "Hide: Redo_Btn" to the Advanced Actions list and it didn't work. How do I make this button disappear after each use?

Hello All,  I have created a responsive project with back ground audio. The audio clip is 4 minutes long and the project is only 2 minutes long. In audio management, I have the back ground audio set to end at the project end, and I set a 3 second fade out.I expect the audio to fad out three second from the end, but that does not happen. The clip just ends abruptly. I do not want to edit the clip as I may add a few more slides. What is the best way to have the clip fade out? Thanks for your help!Peter

I need a suggestion on how to control hyphenation (or lack thereof) and wrapping in text captions that have been translated. When I import translated captions like German, many of the words are so long and that they require manual resizing of the text captions and/or font size. It's very time consuming. Then, I need to do it again for each breakpoint in a responsive project. Are there any techniques to reduce the work involved in this? Thanks!
