Hello again...a customer wants the progress bar which I am not a fan of.If I drag the progress around it seems to stop the project at the frame it is dragged to. Is there a way to tell it to continue wherever it is dragged?Thanks!

I installed Captivate 2017 as a trial version today.  It will not load to start and the only threads in this forum are outdated (I did try their suggestions), so it seemed like time for a new one.  I am using Windows 7, 64-bit.  I meet all of the system requirements and have more than ample CPU processing, RAM, and video processing capacity.  I already tried uninstalling and reinstalling.  I searched for additional uninstall tools but did not see any. When I go to launch Captivate, the green box which says "loading" opens and can stay open for more than an hour if I leave it alone.  If I click on it, I get a Windows message of "this program is not responding, >close the program >wait for the program to respond."  I do have Flash.  I made sure it is up to date, although it doesn't seem to like Chrome all that much.  I also have the Adobe creative suite 5 (Photoshop, Illustrator, etc.) and don't know why that would create a conflict, but

Having waited so long for an update to Captivate, I was excited to see there was one available to me today.After struggling to find any release notes, I eventually found some here:Captivate (2017 release) Update 1 released - eLearning Is this seriously all they can do in the space of a year? It seems they are more interested in creating video tutorials and integrating eLearning Brothers assets rather than fixing issues or implementing feature requests.They really need to take a leaf from Articulate Storyline, who update and fix their software monthly.Storyline 360 Version History - Articulate Support Unfortunately, our hand is being forced and we are slowly gaining more Storyline licences.How do other long time users feel?Cheers.Ross

Hi,I have a standard drag and drop and when somebody clicks "submit" with incorrect answers then there is a help window displayed.How do I set the length of that text window? Ideally it would only disappear after learners click on it. Now it goes away to fast!Thanks!

Hello again ,I have a customer that needs all videos and activities (eg Drag and drop) stopped while the "Help" window is opened. The problem is that I can stop the audio and playback of the real slide but do not know how to do that with a video inside the slide. It is done through this AA:a. Is there any way to pause a video object?b. What other slides / processes are not affected by "pause"?Thanks a lot!

I have a project in which I open a web object from a slide in Captivate in a new window/tab.When the student has finished with the web object they may close the window, or may leave it open and click a button on the slide to go to the next or previous slides.If they click a button to change slides I want the web object window to close.Problems...If I drop the zipped web object onto a Captivate slide as normal, I don't know what the JavaScript reference is to close the window, Captivate doesn't seem to make it available.If I embed some javascript to open a window ( var win = open.window(.....) ), I can use the reference to close it again ( win.close() ). Which is great. However in this case I have to include the web object files in a folder after Captivate has published the content as SCORM content. This means that the web object content is not in the manifest.How do I achieve my goal.Someone else must have had a problem similar to this.

Not sure what's going on here, but I have a match type knowledge check in place, and my preferences are set to grade and report the score. I preview through the knowledge check and all the questions/answers work fine, but when I get to the result slide, it's like none of the answers were recorded. It's just zeroes across the board. Any ideas? Thanks!

When displaying any Variable result, I am encountering a 15 character display limitation.  Is this a system limitation? If so, does a method to expand beyond 15 characters exist?  If not a system forced limitation - how do you expand the number of characters that are displayed when using Variable returns?I am using a User Variable named EMAIL - the entry can be somewhat lengthy.  The return is consistently cut off at 15 characters.Any thoughts are appreciated!

HelloI published a project with audio , the project offline is playing video and audio but when I put online sometimes does it does not play the audio.

For some reason the below error continues to appear when I open up hyperlinks within my eLearning project on my LMS. I have recently updated to Adobe Captivate 17. I'm guessing that this update is what has caused the popups to start appearing.The link/s that I click on open fine in a new tab, so I can see it just becoming confusing for users who go through the online learning.Does anyone know how to stop these popups from appearing? I can't seem to find any ways around it.Any advice would be much appreciated.Michelle

The cptx file is not uploading but a thumbnail image is. On my ipad, I press down on the project on the home page and a menu box appears. I click on the image of the cloud (there is no CC icon, but an image of a cloud with an up arrow). When I look into creative cloud on my mac, there is a project and a thumbs folder. The thumbs folder has an image of the front screen of the project but the project folder is empty. Am I doing something wrong?Thanks

I have a job interview coming up. This firm will want responsive eLearning done with Captivate 2017. Before going into production with your responsive eLearning do you plan out how each slide will look? This make sense to me. In addition, I would have to choose if I am going to use fluid boxes or break points.I would like to know how you go about planning your production for your responsive eLearning using Adobe Captivate 2017.Thanks

I am unable to publish my course (SCORM and HTML as well)I have tried following steps to resolve:1: Clear the cache2: Deleted the temp files3: Created one more copy4: Changed location of file and publish as well5: Deleted unused items6: Tried on different systemsBut every time i am getting the same error I am facing so many issues with captivate and i had worst experience of my life with this tool. 

I have two web objects to display one is visible and displayed as you enter the slide. I have created a button to show the second web object and checked the display in new browser window in the properties. The second web object is set as invisible in the properties and the button is set to show the second web object. However the second web object displays straight away when the project is previewed?

I work for DOD and we are unable to install Adobe Presenter due to the fact that the trusted publisher certificate expired 1/7/2016. I have called a few times to try and explain this, but I keep getting the run around. Without a trusted publisher that is up to date we are unable to continue using the product. Please help a guy out.

Hi everyone,I'm using Cp 2017 and I created my own Prev and Next buttons using the master slide but when I added Mute and Rewind buttons using the built-in smart shapes that are available they don't actually look anything like they do in the selection menu. The Mute smart shape has a mute icon but when I place it on my slide it's just a red square. Same thing with the Rewind smart shape which should be an arrow.  I realize now that this is most likely because I modified my smart shapes in the Objects Manager. I can't figure out how to adjust this just for these two built-in smart shapes. I clicked on Replace Modified Styles but I didn't see a change. I also clicked the other style options but those aren't it either. The only other thing I can think of is to create my own icon images for each then use the image fill option for the smart shape button. I really don't want to do that for the sake of time and I feel like there's an easier solution that I'm just overlooking.Any ideas? T

We dont have LMS.  Is Internal SErver an effective method for quiz reporting?  

Hello! I'm having trouble with the preview function in Adobe Captivate 2017. I just get the circle of death and the preview never loads. I'm working in a responsive project. I've read a couple other forum posts that suggest the file may be corrupt. To test this, I made a brand new project simply drew a rectangle and tried to preview and I still get the circle of death. Any help would be very appreciated! I've tried both preview project and previewing from a specific slide. I'm on a Mac with High Sierra version 10.13.5. Thanks!

As soon as I opened Captivate 9, an error box appears showing a fatal error has occurred and the application is being terminated. Adobe Captivate has tried to save all your work in the respective project folder as ".cpbackup" files. Please restart Adobe Captivate

I have needed to format a table and make it scroll-able so have used the web object to place it on the page as the scrolling text widget cannot be formatted. I meant creating the table and contents in HTML and compressing the code with text fixer and embedding it in the web object code entry input box in properties. It all works finer. However, (see picture below) a small v appears in the to left hand corner above the content. At first I thought it was a syntax error in my HTML but I have been through and this is not the error. I also thought was it using control v to paste the text into the entry box that was creating it within the pasted code. I have discounted this.Has anyone else encountered this problem? If so how to I get rid of this v and get the content to align with the top of the web object.

After publishing my project Captivate add a new page before onky with a start button on it.Does anyone have the same problem and can tell me, what I can do for killing this page ?Lg   Brigitta

i have a project for potrait users on a phone.i dont wanna let them use the landscap rotation.Is het possible to ad some JS to Captivate to see the app only in portrait view.i dont mean the setting on project preferences(disallow phone landscape orientation)i mean a real orientation lock

After publishing to html5 I want the content to be locked in portrait mode - is this possible in Captivate 8?ThanxJørgen

Hello; I would like to zoom into an object for a few seconds at the beginning of the slide, and then zoom out to show the scope of my object.So I set the zoom source as almost the whole slide, and the zoom destination to be the small component size.  The Zoom Appears at 0 seconds and Zoom For at 4 seconds.I was hoping that Captivate would interpret this as zooming out at 4 seconds.  But it doesn't do anything on playing.Does anyone know of a way to achieve this?Thanks
