Timing of slide objects in New Captivate

Can someone please tell me if there is a way to set the specific timing of an object on the side in the timeline that is NOT dragging the object on timeline (which is finicky at best and super innaccurate at worst). In old captivate (classic) the process for setting a duration for an object was super straightforward by just entering the time in a field or checking a box that said "show for rest of slide" or "rest of project". 

 

I cannot tell you how many hours I've wasted zooming into the timeline and dragging an object left, then right, to try to set it to the full length of the slide.  It has caused naviagtion elements to disappear before the learner would need to click Next because they are gone before they would be displayed because they were on the slide for .01 second less than the slide duration. If there is some other way to do this please enlighten me.

    There are two keyboard shortcuts that I have found helpful over the years. Place your play head on the timeline where you want an object to appear and press CTRL+L (or on a Mac Command+L). This will have whatever object you have selected at that moment to appear at that point on the timeline. If you wish to display an object on the slide for three seconds, extend it to the end of the slide CTRL+E (or on a Mac Command+E). 

    If you feel the Timing panel would be a welcome addition to the new Captivate I would click on your Help dropdown menu and select Provide feedback. If enough people agree with you, Adobe will add that functionality back into Captivate. While you are at it, you could also add CTRL+P (which is like CTRL+L but specifically for slide audio).

      Thank you so much for your reply. I'm struggling most with precisely setting when objects end than when they appear, but I will definitely give this a try. 

       

      I will definitely suggest the Timing Panel as a feature. Fingers crossed others agree.
