Hello,I recently tried to record some walking animations and for whatever reason it isn't recording. I have the puppet selected in the timeline and the behavior is armed, but as soon as I hit record, the puppet freezes. I thought there must have been an error with my puppet and upload an example puppet, Evan, and it still isn't recording. Also on a side note when I hit the play button, the playhead does not move. Is there a bug with my program? Please advise.
Hi Everyone, I am trying to add expressions in my lemon puppet in CA. My workflow is:Import puppetImport .wave file for audioCompute lipsyncCompute head movmentThen add expressions during a record (and subsequent records). Edit expressions in timeline I like to use icons in the control/perform panel, during record and then edit those in the timeline with the dropdown menu. See attached screenshots. I admit I might not even be using the right terms for this kind of thing so the right terms would help. I'm having someone make me new expressions but they don't show up in that dropdown that activates when I click on an expression in the timeline so I can't change to the new available expressions. I might need to connect these myself since there is a communications gap so any help would be much appreciated. Links to tutorials, the right terms to use to help me communicate to the person making these expressions/behaviors/whatever they'
I am currently creating my first character puppet, and I'm trying to figure out some physics for its hair. It is current separated into two layers (one with the part infront of the head and one behind) but cant seem to figure out how to connect the two. Is it possible to have multiple anchor points on one layer or object
So I created this octopus puppet and I wanted it to spurt out ink when triggered by a key. It consists of 10 layers so I added the cycle layers in Character Animator but when I trigger it the head disappears. What can be done to avoid this? I want both the puppet and the ink to be seen.
I'm creating a puppet using the 'Blank' character in illustrator. It was auto saving the changes in Ch but then stopped ... how can I get it to auto save again? I make changes in illustrator but Ch isn't updating anymore.
HELLO!have tried to make this dog talk and turn his head. We used the blank.psd template. PLEASE help us! have tried almost a year soon! it sometimes moves the mouth, and sometimes the eyes, but mostly is headturn and correct lipsync not working..

I'm getting an error saying "install Media Encoder" when I try to export from Character Animator to Media Encoder so I can use transparant backgrounds. All of my apps are updated to the latest version and yes, I have Media Encoder on my Mac Computer. I need a fix ASAP!!
i cant download the Character animator. I click the button to instal and nothing happens?
When I stream I want my character to do bouncing effects when I talk (kinda like a pngtuber avatar). I tend to move quite a lot when streaming and don't want my character to be moving when I am moving but want some kind of movement (like a pngtuber bounce effect) when I am talking. I have difficulty sitting still. If that makes sense. Thank You
I see many aging articles on the internet, but nothing that explains how to use the rigging system, how to create the motion in between frames, or even how to hook this into a separate audio system besides the microphone. I wanted to expound upon my drawing ability, but this platform seems mighty but underdocumented. Can anyone point me in the right direction for a tutorial?

I have installed and uninstalled Ch and opened local files and I'm still getting the same errors as if I was opening Cloud files. The errors also occur when opening any example files from the Welcome Screen and my relocated local files. Errors below:
I created a puppet from artwork in Illustrator and saved it as a .ai file. I am using Illustrator cc vs. 29.0 and Adobe Character cc vs 25.0 both updated 4 days ago. When I try to import there are NO .ai files in my file, but if I open it in Explorer the .ai file is in Explorer. I am new to Character Animator, but not new to either animation or editing. This is the first puppet that I am trying to import. Where is the incompatibility between the two programs? I am not using the 2020 version and would hope that the bug would have been fixed by now. I am also using the pro version and no free versions of either program. I am quite frustrated right now, so any suggestions would be greatly appreciated. I have been very thorough in creating the puppet in Illustrator with all the layers and following the guide exactly. I am on Windows 11, as I said, I am using CC version 29.0 and CC 25.0 of Character Animator. I have tried File - import - chose file on a computer - and there are no AI
I’m trying to open Adobe Character Animator, but I’m getting an error like this. I’ve updated the drivers, but the result hasn’t changed. How can I solve this problem?

Hi there ! I've been using Character Animator for a year and a half, animated over 150 Youtube shorts and more than an hour and a half of full animation via Character Animator. With all that time spent on Ch, I now know how to proceed whenever I want a new character to be rigged, and that implies changing a few parameters on the properties panel each time I import a new one. For instance, I don't like the "Head Scale Strenght" nor the "Parallax Streght".I don't use the Eye Gaze behaviour via the camera, but only through the keyboard arrows.Same goes for some other behaviour : I change the "Bend Strenght" down to 60% on the Limb IK behaviour, and always put the "Strenght" of the walk behaviour down to 70%. I could be fine with doing these modifications each time if I had very few characters I need to rig for every new projects, but since I have a lot of them (more than 1500 .ai files on my computer), it is really time consuming. I have an issue that has never happened before. I have a puppet that I have been working with. I have made 4 about half hour videos with it. Now, I am trying to make another one and the arms don't move ONLY when I press record. Before I get a bunch of hate regarding self-promotion, I just wanted to suggest that Adobe set up an area within the Character Animator Forum a section that let's users share and promote their Character Animator work. After all, we are a community and it would be great if we could support each other and share our final projects. Members try to assist others when it comes to solving problems, so it would be nice to view the end product. Anyway, I'll go first (go easy on me!) and kindly ask the community to check out a YouTube channel that I co-created (and subscribe, if you'd like to see more content). We wouldn't have been able to do it without Character Animator. I'm usually pretty adept at CA, but this issue has me stumped! I'm modifying several puppets that I've purchased, and in most cases I've been able to 'Edit Original' and change the artwork in Adobe Illustrator. One of them is giving me problems, however. When I open it up in the RIG window the "Puppet" dropdown in the Properties panel is blank; normally there's a link to the artwork file. Once more, when I right-click on the Puppet the "Edit Original" command is greyed out. The original AI file is definitely being copied to the Gathered Media folder (and I can modify a copy of it) but I can't update the Puppet art. Has this happened to anyone else? TIA, JVK
Hello, I have a Illustrator file set up for Character Animator. The puppet works fine. I want to change the artwork for the left arm of the character. I add the arm into Illustrator, turn off the old arm, and everything seems fine in Illustrator. When I save and go back into the Charcter Animator puppet, the new left arm doesn't show up. The new arm that i brought into Illustrator is a PNG file if that helps a diagnosis. Any help would be greatly appreciate. Thanks!
Hi. My sound and lipsync are off or delayed whenever I'm setting up a scene. The sound goes out and then the audio is out of sync. What could be the problem?
Hi - I really want to add the 'Wiggle' behaviour to my puppet but all of my puppets are Ps not Ai. Would anyone know do I need to do it in After Effects - and if so which Wiggle effect would be best to get a similar result as the wiggly lines acheived with an Ai file in Character Animator? Or is there another workaround for this? Thanks for any help!
[newbie alert] I'm just learning about "Triggers" and I was wondering if it is possible to animate a body part (Arms) and do all the animation within Character Animator using the 'Draggable' tag on a body part. The tutorials I've been watching have the animations made outside of Character Animator [in Photosop] and brought in as a sequence and then turned into Trigger Animations. But could I drag the arms around (using the Draggable Tag) and capture that motion / pose? And make it into a sequence that can then be converted to a Trigger Animation??? Ideally, I'd like to create more poses/animations within the App, if possible.PS. I know that you can capture animation derived from the MoCap tool- but its still unclear how to capture animations made on the timeline.
