Heloo mighty Adobe people! Once more I come before you to share my work which would not be possible without your priceless help and patience! Just like the last time, I made an animated vlogger, only this time it's in english! So please take the time and take a look! I used all my skills from Dave's amazing tutorials and here I am! https://youtu.be/MVuuHIaivGg Please tell me what you think, because a word from you guys is worth more than a thousand muggles phrases!
I imported prerecorded dialogue and was happily recording my face performance earlier today. I just now reopened my project and hit the record button and I can't hear the dialogue anymore. I can hear it on playback, just not when I'm recording a performance, which is kind of crucial. None of the audio tracks are muted, the microphone and lip-sync buttons are turned off. I've tried closing and restarting Ch as well as restarting the computer. I'm running on Mac Mojave 10.14.4. Any help is appreciated!Update! I found a workaround. I hit play FIRST then hit record as the playhead was moving. It's not super accurate, but it seems to work for now.Message was edited by: Nora Novak
2 quick questions for all the character animator experts 1- Is there a way to open and close all timeline trigger triangle tabs from different takes at once like you can in Photoshop by clicking one triangle and pressing command? 2- Is there a way to rename a recorded track take once it’s already in the timeline? I’m trying to rename a recorded track and I can’t. Even if I rename it in the puppet workspace.
Hello Character Animator community, I've been working with Character Animator the better part of this year and I'm beginning to have fairly complex puppets and scene setups. One thing I noticed when I wanted to reuse a puppet was that things I thought I had set such as Transform values and Walk values would be changed if I made a new scene with that existing puppet. Now I'm 99% sure this is intended behavior, and that values you set in the rigging tab are the "base" values and those can be overwritten by adjusting behaviors in a scene. The issue I have is that after working to get a puppet performing well, I end up wanting to use the scene values when reusing the puppet. This happens a lot because tweaking things like Walk values is very dependent on having visual feedback on how they are working, so you end up setting those in a scene and then find the puppet does not walk like it was when you add it to a new scene. The only solution I can think of is to open every beha
Hi ChAnimator People, I am going crazy over here.I have been wrestling with my puppet's walk cycle for 2 hours now and I can't figure out for the love of god why my character doesn't walk the same way between left and right. It walks fine going (his) left but completely slouches and is compressed a little bit when walking (his) right. I have checked the rigging again and again. I have checked the mesh again and again. I am going crazy right now. Here is the .puppet: https://drive.google.com/file/d/10EL8S81kK_UjelOL-Ks1XPN3gfUJGL_t/view?usp=sharingWould really appreciate a hint for where I made a mistake. Alassane

When I add multiple CH dynamic links to an AE project file, my RAM increases significantly even for those CH links not being used in the specific timeline. I try to reduce RAM usage by putting AE playback on 1/3, close CH when AE is being used and AE cache is on an Samsung T5 portable SSD. I would like to keep my project in one AE file but maybe there is a recommended limit on the number of CH dynamic links per AE file? Thanks Here is my hardware information:CPU: i7 7700HQ 2.8Ghz 4 coreRAM: 16GBGPU: Nvidia Geforce GTX 1050OS: Windows 10
Hello, I'm a newbie to CH and I want to create a swooping eagle character, but not sure where to start? Is there a place where I can find an eagle that I can animate or do I have to start from scratch? Thanks
Looking for anyone in Atlanta for hire to teach me how to animate.
I posted here a fairly complex question to the Ch forum 2 days ago (9/27), took me a while to compose, and I just now checked for the first time and I don't see it on the home page or the second page which is already taking me back more than two days. I went to my browser history and found the page of my post, but I have no idea how to get there through normal channels nor what good it is if no one who might have my answer sees it on the forum home page. I apologize for sounding like I'm throwing flame (ala Okay Samurai's latest animation), but should the new forum have gone live before it was at least a little more functional? Sorry,Martin
Man, am I worried about writing a long post here. This new forum setup has been giving me agita on the Premiere site. But here goes: My puppet is made of large photographs, basically, 2400 x 4800 pixels. I built it in a PSD file of these dimensions. Cutting out the images—photos were not green screened unfortunately—is much easier at a higher rez and there are other reasons for keeping everything full size. But this is ultimately, way too big a file for Ch to handle in my tired old computer, at least once we've got all the postions and alts, etc. That's fine; I finished building him, duplicated, made the new one a more managable size and that's my little guy. But here's the thing, when I want a variation, I'd like to be able to Edit Original (⌘E) and get back to the big file. Or, if that's not achievable, to at least be able to do revisions to big guy and then apply all Behaviors, Tags, etc. I don't want to have to make my changes directly in PhotoShop and then reapply a
I don't know what the problem is here , my MIC records well in any other programs and I use it on live streams often, but wen recording in Character Animator once i playback the scene the audio is slowed down and stuttery/ distorted. I have tried changing the audio settings with no changes helping.
Anybody got any suggestions for lip-synching a song with a puppet. The puppet seems to pick up the music too. Any tips to improve the accuracy of the synch?
In the same scene I want to show a puppet walking then stopping (and talking). For the puppet, I have a walk and stand profile. However I haven't figured out how to use the different profiles in the same scene. Am I able to use both profiles in the same scene or do I need to do break the scene into 2 parts (Walking & Standing)? Any suggestions are appreciated.

Hello! I was wondering if I could get some help with this puppet. I have only done his head so far because I'd like to practice with character animator. Right now, I am having issues with his pupils not staying within the parameters of his eye balls. Please help! I am new to character animator!! Please see photos below. Could it be the design of the character's eyes? Possibly his pupil size?
I have a quite simple puppet, with only one view, no head turns, just the front. Just like in Dave Werners Tutorial I added Arm IK to the top level puppet. Every bodypart is found, just once, like it needs to. But it does not work. I can stretch the arms to infinity and beyond and elbows cannot change direction. Does anybody see a mistake? Where can I start my search?
Hi there, CA community, I have a scene where I would like to have a vehicle moving across the screen. I've figured out how to control the Y axis for smooth movement, by attaching a slider to the control panel, and enabling the axis to record from the Transform behaviour - but I need the vehicle wheels to rotate to make it work properly. Is there a way to set up auto rotation, without having to bind this to a slider or dial somehow? Or if I apply physics, would the wheels turn from friction with the floor? I susupect the answer is just to do this over the top of the scene in After Effects - but just thought I'd check first.
Hi! Character Animator was working great for me until I ran into this issue: I updated the name of an eye layer in my PSD file, and now whenever I try to edit the puppet in Character Animator, I get this error message. Tried importing the puppet in a new project, tried reverting the changes in the PSD; no dice. This is a commissioned project, so I'm hoping I can figure this out soon. 😕😕 Thanks!

I think I've tried just about everything to get this body to show up. I had a developer customize some of the Chloe artwork for Character Animator, and have been trying to work (on a deadline) to create some simple animations with her. I have gotten just about everything to work, besides the fact that her body won't show up in the Record view. I had the body originally set to change views off of layer swap triggers, but since encountering this problem I have tried to delete it out to see if that's what was causing the problem. I then tried to reimport all the original artwork and start rigging her from scratch....this did not work either. Only the head and torso show up. My hunch is that the layer hierarchy I'm using isn't right, but since CA is updated so frequently, I feel like the tutorials on the proper layer order are greatly outdated. Would anyone be able to point me in the right direction to get this character's body to show up?See the attached pictures for my Ri
For the federal election here in Canada I did this video of a muppet singing to the voters.https://youtu.be/E7JtIxRrRVsThere is a lot of laughing through the creation process of this clip. Please enjoy !Thanks to Adobe and Okay Samurai for the tips and tools ! The rhinoceros party is a satirical political party in America. They make fun of themselves and of politicians.
Hello Character Animator community! I'm working on a shot with a character in the middle of the screen and a foreground and background. The character in the middle has a walk cycle and can point right or left but has body speed set to 0% so she doesn't actually move. The foreground and background elements have walk cycles and have a body speed of -30%, with the foreground set to "run" and the background to "walk" so they move slightly different for paralax. The effect works well, the issue is that from an editing standpoint I can't scrub the timeline and get an accurate look at the scene. If I scrub back and forth the background and foreground get out of alignment more and more, so the only way to accurately see how the scene will end up is to rewind to the beginning, refresh the scene and watch the whole thing at real time speed, which for a multi-minute scene can add up. My question is, is this normal behavior, or am I doing something wrong? The foreground and background ha
