Hi Character Animator Team,I managed to crash Character Animator by jumping back in the history panel and then switching over to Photoshop and modifying my puppet and then jumping back to Character Animator. I had the puppet PSD open in photoshop. I also had Premiere Pro and Audition open. I’m working on a 2.3Gz I7 MacBook Pro.CH Error Message:Error: could not invert matrixError code: (Mat3.js:504)Error code: (engine.js:1228)Error code: (bootstrap.js:3)Thank you for an amazing piece of bit of software.Bruce
Hi there,I'm new to ACA and trying to figure out how to add Angry Eyes to the puppet. Angry Eyebrows I set up with a keyboard trigger no problem. But I haven't figured out how to swap eye-sets yet. Are there any example projects out there that do this? Thanks so much!-Sarah
Neither in the rig window nor the record is my character properly scaling. It won't scale at all in the Rig Window... but in the Record-Scene Window, when I scale, all it scales is my upper body portion -with the arms and head and torso resizing but the legs, no. Body is set to free. What am I doing wrong? THANKS!I moved the yellow origin onto the body and it still does the same thing, whether its on or off.As you see, the character's too big and when I export, its cut off.Windows 10 PC ChAn 2017
Hello everyone I'm trying to build my very first puppet. I imported the artwork (piece by piece) to the library on AI, followed a tutorial and I can't make it work. On CH the tags get mixed together (I tag the right eye and then the nose and the nose tag stays with the eye) ... like every other tag in the whole puppet.I think I'm missing something REALLY silly cause everything looks right to me LOLSo what could it be the problem? The artwork that I imported? The way I saved in AI? I'm so lost ....HELPThank you!!!Katia
Is there any way to have two defaults?I'd like to be able to animate from one pose to another With key triggers. But to do that, it seems that you can only animate each pose from the default character and back because it would be too complex to animate every pose to every other pose. But is there a way to structure the puppet so I could have two default poses? So I could animate every pose from just two different default poses?I'm trying to figure out if I could structure my key animations to go from default 1 pose, to Pose A (or B or C or etc) , and then have a choice to go back to default 1 or go to default 2. And then have the same choice from default 2 to go to Pose A (or B or C or etc) and then back to default 2 or default 1.this way I have a little more diversity in the look instead of every other pose being the same default pose, I could have every 5th pose go back to one of the two defaults.Default 1 -> Pose A -> Default 2 -> Pose C -> Default 1 -> etc ...I
It's in the title. I have my camera hooked up to my computer via USB cable and when I launch the application, I dont see that that it detects the camera at all.
It's great that Character Animator autosaves documents for you, but I anticipate that having only one save file per project/puppet will cause problems when working in a pipeline where more than one artist needs to access the same file. What if you're working in a cloud based pipeline where multiple animators need to work on the same project file and certain animations get changed or deleted before one of the animators are finished exporting? Maybe there's a way around this, but right now I can only foresee it causing problems. I realize you could simply make many different scenes in the same file with animators initials on them, but I just imagine the projects getting cluttered and confusing. So, is there workaround for creating versioned scenes or a way that multiple artists don't all have to work in the same file?
Hello!I can't get lip sync from scene audio to work on one of my puppets. The track works fine for other puppets, and I've tried multiple tracks, but I get nothing. No visemes at all. My puppet is extremely complicated, so perhaps that's the problem? I have 28 dangles on each of my 7 head turns. Lip sync seems to be working with microphone input, though there is quite a bit of lag. Am I just asking too much?I'm happy to upload my puppet if need-be.
Hi, I am currently working on a efficient way to animate/retake on character animator.I am actually doing one record after a other, first the eyebrows, then the eyes, and so on. More Efficient Control it seems to me I was wondering if there was any fast way, to go back to a marker on my timeline in character animator? Here is my deal:I am using a XBOX controller to animate my character's face so i just have to press "back" to go back to the timeline's beginning, but it would be way better if it would just do a simple back to the previous marker so i could work sentence after sentence on my characterMaybe one of you have a idea Thanks
No problem!I am now noticing a couple issues, I figure might be worth mentioning… Sometimes, when I try to press the space bar or play button to play back my timeline- it doesn’t play. The camera where I can see myself gets paused as it normally would, but nothing else happens. I’ve tried clicking the refresh button with no luck, and find the only temporary solution is to restart the program and project.I also sometimes lose sound while trying to scrub through or play back my timeline. Clicking the refresh button helps, but is there a reason for this? To piggy back off of this- Some headphones also don’t respond? (They work in other programs and iTunes, so I know they are working headphones)Thanks again for all of your help!! Very much appreciated! Hi, i would like to know how to drag a puppet from one side of the screen to the other without having to drag it manually.ive tried playing around with the transform behavior but without success. Not sure if this is something really simple to achieve.Any help would be awesome!cheers
I'm really enjoying this so far, but if i wanted to utilize the character facial animation as a sort of mask on the footage of my own body... is that possible? i've been searching the forums to no avail.
Windows 10. Adobe CA 2017Rigging my character in Adobe Character Animation. Very new to program. Trying a walk cycle with a created character. Body. Two arms. Two legs. Very simple. While watching tutorial - I want to tag the left leg (rear leg) with the handle symbol and when I go into isolation mode so I can get to it - it still asks me to 'select a group' and I am unable to place the handle tag. I have the plus signs correctly placed at the beginning of each body part layer I want to move. (I tried both the left leg with the Crown Symbol, and the Left Leg below in the layers panel.) Left arm works fine and is able to be tagged, but the left leg won't.(ALSO) When I do see the walk cycle... in the STREAM panel to check it - my character is much to large (its very high res) to fit within the confines of the screen given. How can I resize character to fit?If I could attach the actual CA file, I will - but I don't see where I can...Ma
Working with multiple body positions, all with their corresponding arms, atm having dragged them with "hold in place after move", they will jump to the rest position or the previously set position in the different body turn position. It would be great, if the handles behave like their corresponding counterparts of the other views. As they can already be tagged as e.g. left and right wrist and CH has the position data, it shouldn't be that difficult to pass the data from one to the other.I am afraid, I can move this to the wish list..?Or did I miss some trick somewhere?...the arms can't be just one set, in a special layer, separated from the various body views as they have to switch from front to the back and vice versa of course…Thanks!
I have a limb that I want to Warp Independently, but the check mark is greyed out for it. In Illustrator I took the paths apart and regrouped the layer but it still doesn't show up a group. Is there some other way to make an independent group so I can staple the limb onto the body?
This video lesson has a file with the kids, saying it can be downloaded from the link provided. And there is no file there. Can anyone help me get to this file. What's New In Adobe Character Animator CC Beta (November 2016) - YouTube
Hi,Is it possible to export a looping walk cycle from Character Animator? I am exporting using the PNG export option, which exports the entire scene, but I would like to export only the frames that make up a complete walk cycle for my character. Thanks!
I searched the forum, but if I missed the answer, please post it so I can follow that thread.I created my puppet on desktop and want to move it to the laptop for demonstrating it for clients. When I open it, I have to once again place pins, sticks, drags, etc. on the file. Is it possible to keep that data? I can keep the rigging area open on laptop, but I would rather not have to keep doing the work over and over. Thanks again.
I made a character in illustrator and used the 3d rotate effect to create a simple head turn as the left and right quarter. When I import the character into character animator it is just like the frontal view. I switched off the frontal view layer and the left/right quarter views are the same as the frontal one. Is there something I need to apply in illustrator for it to keep its shape or is it an issue with Character Animator.
I'm working on walk cycles for my puppet (a left and a right cycle) and discovered that one cycle worked while the other did not. After doing a little evaluation I discovered that if I added a "dangle"... the puppet simply did not walk. Also, if I labeled my profile head as a profile (which was the only way I could get my eye to work), the puppet would only hop (not walk). Are there any work arounds for these issues? Thanks much!
I'm trying to build a more complex puppet and am wondering how complex should one get? My Photoshop file has so many layers and am worried it will be too difficult to puppet. Just how complex can the puppet be?
I am working on my second puppet and may have bitten off more than I can chew. I am attempting to create head turns but for some reason only the top-most head's eyes work. The mouths work on all the views. Am I missing something? I've checked several times and they are all tagged and labeled correctly. Please help.
Ok so I have an airplane and it doesn't have eyes, rather the wipers offer a blink feature only. I can't get the cycle layers to occur on both wipers at the same time. I get one wiper going and then nothing happens with the other one. I've tried to check and uncheck the hide others box. And I've watched OK Samurai's cycle layers episode about a 100 times; he will likely cover his mortgage this month on my views alone in Adsense revenue. You're welcome lol.
IS it possible to control 2 arms at once with the Wacom MobileStudio Pro 16?It has multitouch but I am not 100% sure if it is the right kind.Just seeing if i should buy one for my workflow Thanks!
