Hi, I have a puppet that I want to pose with their hands static on their hips (arms akimbo). I'm able to record that successfully with a dragger function. It plays back successfully. When I go to export as a PNG sequence, the puppet resets to a default pose of their arms angled out at their side (as recommended by OkaySamurai) and then the hands snap to hands on hip pose. This adds an odd in-between frame at the beginning of the exported PNG sequence where the hands are snapping from the arms-angled-out pose to the arms akimbo pose, as well as a few subsequent frames of the hands slowly coming to rest. See attached image for example of odd in-between frame; please note this test frame is only with movement on right arm. I thought this issue with my puppet or rigging, but I'm running into the same issue when I use a default puppet (Chloe) in a new project. I've spent a couple days pouring over this forum and Okay Samurai's tutorial series, but can't find anyone else runni
Hello, I am very satisfied with the program and I am using it well.I am using a translator because I am not good at English, so I hope the contents are delivered accurately~I want to edit the character of the character animator and upload a short animation on YouTube.Of course, we need to modify it more through Photoshop, Illustrator, After Effect, and Premier Program.1. Can I make a profit on YouTube through character animation that has been transformed into a character animator program?2. Is there a copyright issue?I think it's possible, but just in caseI'm curious.I'll be waiting for the reply. You can also reply to my adobe account: dpminan@hanmail.net
Hi. I've got my puppet in a rowing boat. I've tried with the CH magnets, following okay samurai on youtube but the oars are floaty/gittery and not sticking to the hands and the hands and oars wont stick together. Is it better to try another way such as moving the oars manually in AE ? Or create a sequence in PS ? Thanks
Is it possible to export just the rigged puppet? I would like about 3 1/2 seconds to be overlaid on an MP4 backgound. That backgound has people walking in it so I will put it together in Premier Pro. What happens now is the puppet covers over the entire backgound. How to I get just the puppet out of the Character Animator program, with some minor movements of the mouth for 3 1/2 seconds?
Hi ! I'm hopping you're all doing well !I'm killing my self with this issu for quite some time now and I would really need your help !So I have a puppet that have eyes behind his head so I can use eye lid, at first all was working well on all heads and I don't know what I've touch but now on 3 out of 5 heads one of the eye is totally going into the other eye range... I normally have verify more than a hungered times all the tags, duplicate all eyes so they have the same aspect and same names... I really can't figure out what could be the problem from one head to an other...... Okay so on the video there is the issu but only on the "Right Profil" but not on the "Right Quarter" so I show you on the second video my tags for both eyes on both heads. And you can see that I've tried to put a second pupil range but tagged or not tagged it doesn't change a thing. Please if someone could help me 🙏
Currently, the canera system in Character Animator is very basic and simple. I am wondering if we can improve it by having a 3D space? So far, I have to manually resize the puppet to give it a 3D space effect like going away from the camera or getting closer to the camera, but with a 3D space? No need to. This also works for various objects on the background.
Is there a way (via script or otherwise) to automatically render individual layers or groups of layers to PNG sequences? For example, characterRightArm, characterLeftArm, characterShirt, etc, for each animation. Right now I manually turn on and off layers for each render and animation, which is very time consuming. Coming from After Effects, I would usually write a script for this.
I looked over amazon.com hoping to find something on the order of "AE Character Animation for Dummies". Found nothing. Am I just not asking the question correctly?
Hi, I made a 30 scene where I have a character walking for a few seconds and then he stops. I have it under Position Based. I keyframed where I wanted it to start and end. It worked fine. I want the puppet to swing his arms for 10 seconds, have them up in the air, have then stay like that but the puppet keeps walking. I wanted the puppet to swing his arms for for 10 seconds and then have the arms stop swinging. This is what I did:1) I started my scene from the beginning again and I pressed the Arm Swing Stop watch to add the keyframe. The number was at 0 2) I moved the playhead to 10 seconds and I changed the number on Arm Swing to another number where the arms are in the air. 3) This where I want the arms to stop swinging and remain in the air as the rest of the puppet keeps walking untill it stops 20 scconds later. 4) I right clicked on the 2nd keyframe of the Arm Swing. 5) I pressed Toggle Hold Keyframe6) I restarted the scene from the beginning an
I really like the new background images included in the latest Beta release [v. 22.5 (build 13)].I have a sequence with two blokes on a park bench, and would like to switch backgrounds between 10 or so of the outdoor images included, over 5 seconds whilst zooming in on these blokes. When I try to do this "live" while recording it only accepts the last image selected. Is there a way to do this?
I loaded the "Blank" PSD puppet file from Adobe into an iPad app that supports thge PSD format. I only drew in the existing layers. No layers were deleted or renamed. When I saved the edited PSD file and saved the file over the original Blank.PSD file in the CH project, the character was changed with the new artwork, but it was no longer able to move. What did the PSD file lose by being edited and resaved, even though all the same layers and their names remained?
I plan on live streaming myself gaming using Character Animator and OBS. I'd like my game to be on my main monitor and OBS on my second monitor. I have a MIDI keyboard set up to CH so I can use triggers when the application is minimized. For CH I'd like just two scenes. One scene with many elements (characters, background, props...) as a hangout intermission scene. The other scene will have just my character scaled down in the bottom right corner as an overlay while I'm gaming. Is it possible to switch scenes with a MIDI hotkey? This would be great because it would be better performance while I game! (One puppet. Less layers) My other option is to only use one scene and use a triggers to hide everything and keyframe/replay my character to the corner for gamemode. I don't know if the performance would change though since it's the same big complex puppet.
I used the "blank" Ai file and replaced things to create my first puppet, and I can't seem to add layers under the "head" or "body" portion. Essentially I can't make any new layers, or drag them into, the original framework. I'm trying to make more hand positions and I can't place them within "body", it just shows a lock icon. Why is this? I've included an image of the layers I have in case this helps but otherwise it's hard to demonstrate.
I seem to be unable to make a custom puppet at all. It appears there are missing folders. Here is a screenshot of the error that I get immediately when trying to open puppet maker.
The character I have created, their pupils seem to move at different speeds and do their own thing meaning they aren't in sync with each other. All the rigging seems to be correct so I dont understand why this is happening but obviously I could be wrong. I have already added the sound and its all lip synced together. Also, whenever I move the arms they seem to come apart from the body so they leave a gap.. Also, the characters legs dont seem to stick to the ground she flies around a lot haha.https://shared-assets.adobe.com/link/4e5f5cdb-f56d-4650-7c3d-5e37061117c4
Hello! I was using adobe character animator and also using my brand new Oon. camera, 1440p surf, and all was going well. I made my puppets and rigged them, along with testing them out in the character animator program. I minimized the window and opened Chrome, and when I reopened Character animator, I recieved the message, "Waiting For Camera". I have reinstalled the program twice now and restarted my computer several times. Now every time I open the program, it will flash like its trying to work, then I recieve the message again. PLASE HELP! This problem apeared out of the blue, and I dont recall doing anything out of the ordinary.
Hello all, I'm using a Windows 10 machine and am trying to livestream with Character Animator but I can't get any of my Adobe programs to recognize the NDI Tools I have installed. I could have popsted this on the Creative Cloud forums, but since my end goal is to use the NDI tools for livestreaming from Character Animator, I thought this seeme diked the right place. I found people with a similar issue on this forum thread. It suggested uninstalling NDI and then downloading and installing After Effects or Premiere Pro. Then, it suggested redownloading NDI and running the NDI tool for Premiere or AE, which should then make NDI appear in other apps as well. I followed these instructions for AE. When I open the NDI tool for AE, it opens AE, but when I go to Edit>Preferences>Video Preview, I don't see NDI as one of the options (see image below). The other forum also had someone suggest testing if NDI was working using Test Patterns. I opened Test Patterns and it seemed
I've created a puppet holding a drink. Is there a way to rig the arm so that his wrist doesn't rotate with the arm? I'd like him to be able to raise his arm without pouring his drink. In the screenshot below, you can see the cup is rotating as he moves his hand closer to his face. The goal is to keep the opening of the cup facing upward at all times. Any ideas? I'm sure someone has probably already solved a similar issue, but my search didn't yield anything useful.
I have many puppets and illustrations in my scene I'm making. Its pretty much all one illustrator file. Is it better to rearrange my scene in the illustrator file, the character animator rig window or just use transform behaviors on everything in record space? Right now everything is just centered on top of eachother in my illustrator file and I move it later in character animator.
I am having an issue where I can't seem to find where to change my install path to a secondary drive as my primary is filling up and I would prefer to keep all my adobe apps on the same device. Can anyone point me to where I can do this?thanks
Hi, What does Mode:Position Based mean? Thanks
Sometimes it seems like the program has a hard time computing the head/body turns. Even though they are in place it doesnt always register on playback and also when exporting. On my current project the head and body turn to the right but when i export only the head is turned and the body stays frontal. any fixes for this?
Can animator be purchased as a stand alone app? I don't need all the extra stuff that comes with the adobe package. Thanks
