Questions

I am new to Adobe and I am trying to animate my character using lip synch, head turning and blinking. I made some progress and eye pupil movement, eyebrows and swaying side to side work but I have no luck on getting the character to follow my head when I turn it (profile, quarter, up, down) in the camera view with the red dots on my face. It just stays in frontal and does not respond my movements, I refreshed and even x'd out of the scene and reloaded it and no change. I'm very frusterated I hope someone with more then my 5 hours in the software car help me out, thanks in advance. Here's the file i'm working with I exported in Ch 

Hi everyone -- I'm having trouble figuring out how to have my character sway from side to side from the torso/waist. In the past this wasn't an issue, the head origin would be at the neck and the whole puppett's origin would be set to the mid section with the feet pinned down so the charcater could realistically sway in place. I'm getting back into animator for the first time in a few years and now i'm having trouble with what was once rather basic. Any advice or ideas on I may be overlooking? For reference, I tage label and tag everything proeprly from illustrator to animatior and layer my puppet as such +Character -> Head (+frontal, +upward etc.) -> Body (+Left & +Right).  Thank you for any feedback! Hello, I keep getting these error codes when I start the program and click on the Chad puppet (Photoshop). If I keep closing the error I eventually get to the puppet, but it fails to create a scene. I am totally new to this program, but it worked in my office earlier and now I am trying from home. Not sure if its an issue with my computer or the program? Any help is appreciated!  

hello im trying to install adobe character animatorim getting error 127 when int reaches 28% 

Version 4.4Sometimes I import my dialog.  Sometimes I record directly.  Either way, the visemes that appear are typically not even close.  Example: What I said "This is a" Visemes that appeared W F S W F. I just recorded each letter.  The mmm gave me S E W D.  Turned the number of visemes down in preferences and tried again.  The mmm gave me Woo.  The uh gave me Woo L.  The D gave me M Woo.  S and F worked.  Oh gave me L Woo.  I don't know what's going on.  The playback of my voice sounds clear and I enunciated well.I just know that, with the amount of lip sync I do, the time involved in correcting every sound I make is too much.

For some reason whenever I use this function, the system will reach halfway or sometimes 2/3 progress, and stop. Even after leaving my computer for hours there is no progress, and I have to close Character Animator using the end task function. Lip sync works fine, and my other computers seem to work fine as well. I'm not sure how to check what is wrong. Thanks for any help!

Hey everyone, I altered a premade puppet's background layer in photoshop. I did not alter the puppet itself at all. Now that I want to import it into Character Animator, the image of the puppet/scene is zoomed in. Whenever I speak, the mouth moves accordingly, but whenever I move my face, the entire background moves and the puppet's eyes cross. Lastly, all of my puppet's previous triggers are completely gone.  This is very frustrating, but I hope one of you out there can help me determine what the issue is. I've tried with more than one puppet, but the same thing happens each time. Both programs are completely updated. Maybe there is a problem with how I imported/exported it?   Thank you for your time!

I received the "selected camera is unavailable" when trying to use my webcam to animate the face of my puppet.When I switch to the camera in the Camera & Microphone panel, the activity light on the webcam turns on and off for a brief moment and then stays off. It's like CA is triyng to connect to it but them stops. I've spent the past 2 hours trying to debug this 😞 Any help would be appreciated. I've tried the following steps already after much research:Logitech c920 webcamWindows 10I have another camera on the computer (Elgato HDMI stream) but it is not turned onThe Logitch c920 camera works in other applicationsI have turned off all other applicatiions that might use it (Skype, OBS, Discord etc.) Tried uninstalling and reinstalling camera drivers

I want my character to completely turn his head so you just see the back of it. Can this be done with a trigger/swap somehow? I've not been having any luck trying to figure it our myself.

I recently had a power outage and while I was working on my puppet. when I pulled it back up i got this error messageIs there anything that I can do to save it please. I've put so much work into this one. 

I can add new objects in PSD layers to the BG or anywhere else I want. I can toggle visibility using triggers. Is there a way to fade something in or out when I trigger it? I tried doing a blend in the timeline, but it doesn't seem to be an option.

If I want to animate my character the Character doen't fit in the Picture - the head is allways cut off. I'm new and I have no idea how to fix that.

This is just a heads up. I recently updated to Ch 2.0.1 and my camera stopped working. I am using a Windows 10 machine I7-7800X 64GB RAM and a logitech C920 camera. I restarted and did everything I know to try to get it to show an image. It works in any other program and the mic from the camera worked just fine with in CH. I reverted to version 2.0 and it works fine. Thanks for all your hard work.

All my cycle animation are slowed down since i changed the framerate in the scene, is there any way to fix this ?

I love Ch! I've been using it for 4 years. Each version makes it better. However, one major factor holding it back is the lack of PadOS and iOS support. Removing this barrier would allow more people to experience and use Ch. Given that the facial tracking features on all iPads and iPhones since the iPhone X work with consumer social media filter iOS apps (eg TikTok, Insta) AND professional motion capture (eg Rokoko), then it appears that Adobe could add it to the iPad and iPhone. It would really help utilise limb tracking. Can you PLEASE consider it! Thank you!!

to be more specific i'd like to get a lipsync motion from audio and use that motion while i take head movements from my live webcam

Hello !I would like a lower face shadow cast on my character's neck. The problem is, when my character's head rotates, the shadow also rotates and it sticks out of the neck. Is it possible to limit the casting of shade to one area? I tried with a clipping mask but the shadow disappears.Thanks for your help !émilie 

Hi - I have encountered a deadline-shattering bug... I am working on a Mac formatted hard drive on my Windows system. I built 6 puppets that I saved onto this drive - every now and again I would get an error saying "bad rope operation", however, a notification would let me know that I have saved a new version. I crossed my fingers and hoped for the best. Fast forward to today - I am unable to open any of my puppets - getting the same error "bad rope operation" whenever I try to open them. Opening and saving puppets to windows formatted drives works fine. Hope this bug report is helpful. I'm off to re-rig all my puppets now.

Is there such a thing like the razor cut tool from Premier which you can cut and delete sections of an item in the timeline. I am doing a recording on CH and I only want to cut and delete sections within the recording without having to to do the entire recording again. How do you go about cutting sections of the timeline in CH?

Hi,I did a small layer correctment in my original psd puppet file.. now my Ch file keeps reporting this and won't show any scene. I tried undoing a lot of steps to retrieve the old layout.. but now it still keeps doing it.Is there a way I can replace my puppet layers without having to do the rigging all over again?

So I created my puppet in photoshop however I accidently closed the original file in character animate and now I cant put it in to character animator. Does anyone know how I could fix this problem? Im very new to this program so any help would really mean alot.

How about adding a mouse pointer draggrer feature? Sure... I could also add a picture of a dragger and move it around I guess... but might not be as cool as a native system dragger that could have lights and a piece of cake with it.. 

Hello All! I have watched several videos about Adobe Character Animator, and I'm super interested in animating using Barbarasaurus. I wanted to know:1. How I can change the text in the headlines2. How I can add a different picture to the graphics cards3. How I can change the background while having Barbarasaurus still there. I know how to add a new background when the puppet comes without a set background, but it seems like one overlays the other with fully developed animations like Barbarasaurus.   Any help would be much appreciated. I really want to do a series to help some kids I volunteer with! Thank you!
